Hello all, For my entire "career" of flying MSFS's (back to FS5) the longest journeys I have undertaken have been trans-atlantic. Well, now I want to get into trans-pacific flight. I have a good set of atlantic waypoints I downloaded for NAT flight. The problem is, FS9 doesn't include lat/long waypoints to follow across the pacific for ATC sake. My question is, how do you all go about flying trans-pacific in the 747? For example, I want to fly this flight plan:VTU5 RZS LIBBO BRINY ALCOA CEPAS COBAD 4100N 14000W 4400N 15000W 4600N 16000W 4800N 17000W 4700N 18000E 4400N 17000E 4100N 16000E ETRON OTR7 PABBA OTR6 KETAR OTR10 ARIES.....It's UA899 from 10.19.06, KLAX to RJAA. …

OK.. I downloaded the new Sound and installed it. It looked like the install was good. But I am not quote sure I can hear the difference. Its almost identical except maybe more bass. On the other hand, maybe the files didn't get copied over and I just had the bass on my speaker a little louder. How do I tell that I have installed everything properly. How do I tell that I have the new sound and not the same old one...for sure.Mind you.. I started 747 (Warm). But I took off and landed and reverse thrust and everything. The reverse thrust had the same identical sound.Hmmmm.,.....Manny

I have tried installing the singapore megatop 744 paint scheme twice, incurring the same problem both times. The virtual cockpit textures and wheel textures are not loading for some reason. These textures load fine on all my other liveries but this is the only one it will not. Is it my fault or the installer?http://img324.imageshack.us/img324/4972/e1yb0.jpghttp://img324.imageshack.us/img324/2453/e2xl1.jpg

Hi People !I am flying now over 10 years and really enjoy the MS-FS products so far. There are 2 major issues that really dissapoint me extremly and i thought that FSX would have solved it.1) If you make a flight plan from Europe to US - the computer will generate a root that is ridiculuous. e.g. LOWW to KJFK - the flight planer sends your through the the southern part of the atlantic ocean close to the caribean islands and then north back up.or EDDF to KLAX you will fly through greenland to Alaska and then back south to Californa. But this porblem is not of so much importance as you can get your own flight plan build from some add ons. Still i think its ignorant from the…

I just wonder if someone knows what is the total weight of paint needed to paint a real 747-400 ready to be delivered.I just guess that any fancy decorations must have a some impact on flight cost, no?RakhamToshiba Satellite P4 3.4 Ghz1536 DDR RAM nVidia GeForce FXWinXP Home on the road andPIV 3.4Ghz, 1536 DDR RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 WinXP PROYoke & Pedals CH Products at home

Captains-I've just concluded a (much needed) conversation between me, Lefteris and Richard Stefan of Navigraph to see if we can't resolve some of the confusion that has surrounded commercial developers interface to Navigraph's new product line and their plans for the future. The news is all good, fortunately- and we are finally able to give some clear guidance on how the transition from Navdata (freeware) to Navigraph (commercial) AIRAC cycles product will affect you- and what changes you can expect it to have on your PMDG products.PMDG was contacted many months ago regarding the new Navigraph commercial arrangement and we have been in full support of the change taking pla…

Anyone know the typical route from KSFO to KLAX using the 0610 navdata cycle? I honestly don't know what to make of these SID/STARS. All I know is they're your standard departure and arrival procedures. But when I'm looking at programming the FMC, I'm presented with so many SID/STARS choices as well as transitions that I just look at them and wonder. Do I really need to purchase programs such as FSNavigator and FSBuild to know the exact route to program with? I've searched the internet high and low and came up with zero info on this matter. Also, since I'm using the MSFS2004 ATC, is there a way to program the FMC on the fly? FS2004 ATC doesn't exactly give you the ex…

Hi EveryoneHave been out of simming for a few years and just getting back into it. Have been reading these forums here for a few weeks and finally made an informed decision to purchase fs 2004 over the newly released version as I dont want to upgrade in a years time to use new add on aircraft. Was familiar with 767PIC in FS2002 and now want to install PMDG 737. My new system includes a new Dual Core 3.4ghz with 2mb ram and Nvidia 7600GT graphics card and 19 inch wide screen monitor. My question is after installing fs 2004 fresh, what changes to fs setup will I need to make to get it running well prior to installing 737NG and the 800/900 upgrade? I notice people talking…

Dear pilots,Shortly I'am using the PMDG's 737-7,8,9 Next Gen series instead of the standard Microsoft Boeings. And for most, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The planes handle much better and more realistic to my opinion. The presence of an FMC etc... are very usefull. But I'm troubling with saving flights. When I'am in a long-distance flight I would like to save a flight in order to continue an other time. Actually saving isn't a problem, FS2004 seems to save normally. But when I want to load the from the save file, the plane has forgot every information I gave him: the NAV and ATC frequencies, the FMC route and plane details, the Autopilot settings etc...When the …

Hi,I've got chance to test flight simulation with Windows XP x64 edition. I installed all needed drivers and FS9 without errors. Also every addon installations. The Level-D's 767 and F1 ATR are working fine but PMDG's 737 and 747 are not. FPS is about 0 to 5 which is unflyable. I did some research and noticed that something is wrong with gauges. Without gauges FPS is 30 (locked 30). Also PSS A320 has same problem. Any options?I tried other drivers etc. without any results. My system:A8V DeluxeAMD64 3500+GeForce 6800GT1Gb RAMDo i need to go back to 32-bit windows to fly with PMDG's?

Dear Robert,Good morning to you from Dubai, UAE.I owned 737-800/900 & 747-400 and waiting for the release of our MD-11 and A320X.My question;1. Will there be a patch file (at cost of course) for my 737 & 747 for it to work in FSX?2. MD-11 is based on FS9. When the aircraft is completed, will it work with FSX or will there be two version that works with both?3. A320 is I think still on the drawing board or already in Production line. Will it be release to work with FS9?The reason I ask you is because of the problem we currently have with FSX- Hardware requirement not available yet.Thank you and best regards,Isagani

Hi all,I would like to know how real 747 pilots fly their VOR approach down to touchdown. What autopilot mode do they use ? Do they program all the waypoints and the altitude restriction in FMC and use autopilot LNAV and VNAV, or VS mode ? If so, what altitude is set in alt window ? Is there any tutorial on how real 747 pilots fly VOR approach ?Hope someone can help !!!DanielVHHH

I'm not so new to flight simming but the Queen is my first payware aircraft ( with which, I am very pleased). Here is my dilemma: After reading many of the posts, one would assume that FS9 is a 'shot duck' and will no longer be supported ie; new aircraft development and that Vista is now the holy grail to which we should all aspire. There are a heap of addons, Active Camera, FSNavigator etc. which I am investigating to make my simming experience more enjoyable but I have a very limited income and I'm not too sure whether I'll be wasting my money.I'm seriously considering the purchase of the 400F but the same dilemma applies. I also wish to purchase the 737's but again yad…

I would like to know why the 744F FMS dumps the fuel used on the PROG page 2/3 and the queen doesn't, any one know why? It resets to zero when you exit the runway and resumes calc. during the taxi in to the ramp. So when you go to look up fuel used for the flight it shows like 0.9 to 1.5 depending on taxi in time. I have all updates too.Thanksmike

Hi folks--Well, it seems that FSX is out and most recent forum posts indicate that experiences are less than stellar. For all it's worth, I wanted to ask you not to move forward with all of your items for the new platform just yet, and see what the new version brings. I know for myself, I will be waiting for a year or so until the bugs seem to be worked out and the technology catches up to bring me the same amount of detail at same framerates with FSX.Best of luck in all of your endeavours!

Hi Gang, and Robert of course.I hope all is well in PMDG land.I just wanted to ask you guy's if there is anything I can do about my small niggle when selecting a saved flight using the Queen, PAX version.when I select on a pre saved flight, usually at a gate at an airport, I have everything set to "cold and dark", but I have to press shift1, or is shift2, I can't quite remember now, to show the main panel, all I see when I select one of these flights is the main window showing the out side, but I don't see the actual aircrafts panel, that is until I press the shift thingy.I am current with the version of the Queen.as I said, it's not a big problem, more of a niggle, and I…

Hello all, I'm having a problem (I think) with the PMDG 737-700. When I'm on the glideslope the nose of the airplane is always sticking up 3-5 degrees in order to remain on the slope. I am guessing this is not normal. My fuel is 100 (In the left wing I guess), 3.5 in the center and 100 in the right. There's no wind that could interfere and the VREF is usually around 132 and I always add 5knots to that.Any help would be greatly appreciated!Tim

Hello!I have been eagerly awaiting the MD-11 for a long time now and can't wait to get my hands on it.I have one question thuogh regarding the modeling of the airframe within gmax. All other add-ons available so far, on the net and in the various shops, have one minor flaw. The main gear always stays parallel to the mainframe of the aircraft, even when the plane touches down. You can often see the gear being compressed by the weight on touchdown, however the front tires of the main gear remain suspended in the air.I always considered this a limitation within gmax or FS2004, however I have now come across a (freeware) aircraft which has a main gear that behaves exactly lik…

Hi everyoneFor all those poor souls waiting for the MD-11 I have found a little teaser. It's an old Swissair video they where showing on the inflight entertainment system on the MD-11 flights.Since it is a Swissair production the copyright shouldn't be a factor anymore...There are only two problems:1. The file is about 65 MB!!! It will take you a while to download!2. The file is currently on my server which is terribly slow for uploads to the net. Does anyone know a faster place where I can put the file for free?Anyway, here is the link:http://www.paulifamily.ch/martin/MD11overAlps.aviLong lives the beauty of the skies! Long lives the MD-11! :DCheers Martin

Hi,I was wondering how to reset the transition level in the PMDG 747 for the arrival airport. I know I can set it somewhere in the VNAV pages before takeoff, but I would like to reset it to the TL of the arrival airport after reaching cruise altitude. At that time however, the field to set it in the VNAV pages (I think it was in VNAV CLB) is gone.Regards,Maarten Ligtenberg
