When I fly the 737-800/900 in 2D cockpit during the day, i find that after switching from panel view to overhead view and back again, intermittently the panel light switch has moved from off to on !This also can happen if i switch from normal panel view to zoom panel view.This happens quite regularly ( at least twice during each flight.... and it is not because i am clicking it by accident.nb. This question is specific to the 2D panel view.Peter

I loaded up the 744 at KSFO with 1/3 of a tank using the PMDG Options procedure. Shortly after takeoff, the upper EICAS displayed in amber " >Fuel Tank/Eng". I had no idea what was going on. Using the FUEL synoptic, I observed that Main 1 and Main 4 each had been autoloaded with 30K lbs while Main 2 and Main 3 had 33K lbs apiece. All seemed to be going fine. Engines 2 and 3 were in tank to engine mode while engines 1 and 4 were being crossfed from Main tank 2 and 3 (which I didn't understand or expect--why not? I don't really know...is this normal?).Can anybody help me understand what was happening with the fuel management here and why, and what was I supposed to…

I was under the impression that the -400 autothrottle system completely managed throttle position from start to finish. In other words, when the TOGA buttons are pushed, I thought a servo motor automatically advanced throttles to takeoff power setting. In another recent thread here, someone said that the autothrottle system merely 'trims' the power setting and the pilot must still manually advance the throttles for takeoff thrust, even after pressing the TOGA switch. Hello! I am interested to know whether there will be some changes in some of the systems on the 747 FSX release. The first thing I had in mind were the failures. Sure, most of them ARE simulated....however, all you can do is manually arm them and then, of course - you know they'll fail. No element of suprise there :) I was wondering whether there will be an option of a completely randomly and independently generated failure? Something like having the anti-ice failure on one of the engines, for example. Or something as severe as the hydraulic failure! Have the #4 system leak, and land on the main body gear only! :) Would stuff like that be possible? Of course, to make it r…

After I land successfully (auto-land), and apply thrust-reversers, the steering goes erratic, as though someone is turning the rudder, left then right back and forth. Is this supposed to mean the landing gear is broken? My brother has this same problem on his PC.

Hi Everyone - I've discovered another problem since installing FSX on my system. (The first problem of dying frame rates for PMDG aircraft was solved by running the path utility from the NOTAM posted here). Now, it seems that when I go to change the airline configuration in the 737NG, from, say, Southwest Airlines to Hapag-Lloyd Express, FS9 disappears/crashes to desktop. Upon restarting it, the cockpit config change is there. A couple of times I've also had to reboot the system because not all functionality was there - i.e., VORs not appearing on the ND, generator switches unable to be turned on to transfer electrical power after engine start.Everything worked perfec…

Hi, I'm trying to input a route on the B747 FMC which is EDDF to EGLL and once i input the destination airport (eggl)i get an error message which says 'Error RWY05 unknown' and when the input is complete and i check the arrival airport runways, i see no runway on the list at all.Any help please.Kind regardsMustafa Hassan.

Hi,I was planning a flight from WSSS to ZSPD using FSBuild2 with the actual Airac Cycle (both for PMDG and FsBuild2) and Arrival Procedures (06-11).When entering the destination airport ZSPD on the first route page, the FMC reported an error like "error: ZSPD p3 unknown" (I don't remember the exact message). On the Dep/Arrival page there were no arrivals (not even runways) available for ZSPD to choose from. When I enter ZSPD manually as a waypoint into the legs page, then ZSPD is recognized. Is there another database that I need to update? Or is there just something wrong with the current cycle? I tried (06-10), (05-13) as wellbut still I got the error when entering ZSPD …

AIRAC 0611 already installed.VOR TRA 114.3 (Switzerland) selected, but no selected radial (green dot line) is displayed on the navigation display. All other VOR's are indicating normal.Where could be the bug?Thanks for help, Peer

I'm new to the FMC/CDU for the 737-6/700 since I just purchased this plane yesterday. Now I'm trying to follow the instructions in getting the FMC working. Needless to say I'm a little (or a lot) confused. But first things first.In the FMC manual I am instructed to go to www.navdata.at to download the 767PIC/PMDG All-in-one installer. But where is it found on the indicated site? I can't seem to locate it.Second question: I see that this information for AIRACs is now offered on a subscription bases instead of being a free service as before. Is this required to properly program the FMC?Third: SID/STARS are available from the PMDG site. I haven't researched this yet, but do …

I had a computer problem and had to reinstall everything, including FS9 and my PMDG 737, B1900 and 747-400. I got ready to fly my 737-800 and everything appears normal EXCEPT I can't find the load manager anywhere!! Any idea what could be wrong? Do I need to reinstall the 737 yet again, or could it be something else? Thanks.

Hello PMDGWith the PMDG commands keyboard assignments there are options to make key combination assignments for the CDU function and mode keys (i.e. INIT REF, RTE, CLB, ... etc.) but there isn't an option availble to make key combination assignments for the 6 left and 6 right LSKs. Is there another way to make these key combination assignments for the LSKs? If not, are there plans to make the ability to do these LSK keyboard assignment in a future PMDG release? This would be great, to give us the ability to make full keyboard operation of the CDU, versus needing to do mouse control of the LSKs. and NO, I'd love to have one, but I don't have the extra big $$$ to buy th…

I know this isn't specifically to do with PMDG.. but I thought that since the 747-400(or F) PMDG is the only aircraft I EVER fly on MSFS these days (although I am very keen to get hold of the MD-11).. I was interested in your specific recommendations.. and I thought this the best forum to go for to find out..I am looking at a decent set of controls for simming basically.. I have an old joystick, with no rudder function.. so flying can be difficult at times.. I was wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations as to what to go do.. I am prepared to spend a "reasonable" amount of money.. that is.. maybe 100 or so.. to get the right bit of kit.. I might even go higher…

This is my second post requesting info on an fuel planner for the 747-400F. There is a very detailed one for the 744 by (Pierre CHEVALLIER) in the download section. No such luck for the 744F.It was suggested i use the aircraft's fmc,i appreciate the input but i really would like to know if anyone has located a usable planner for the 744F?Thanks

I've been having a very hard time with the 737NG panel giving me poor FPS (like 2-3). When I go to a spot view, the FPS goes up to the 20s and 30s. I have a dual-core processor and 2GB RAM. I can post detailed specs if needed.Now for the discovery...When I am in 2D mode and swap over to windows I can do a ctrl-alt-del and pull up the task manager. Under the performance tab, the CPU Usage History is split into two panes (presumably one for each path through the processor). One is completely maxed out while the other one hardly shows any activity. If I go back into the sim and select an exterior spot view, the frames pick up and the cooresponding pane in the CPU Usage …

Having just purchased the 737-600/700, I'm having trouble updating the AIRACs and possibly the SID/STARs files.Currently the FMC indentifies me having the 0608 version of AIRACs. I've tried installing the 0611 file from planepath and the 0610 from the navdata.at sites. But still the FMC shows the original 0608 ver. The auto installer from planepath shows succesful installation but no update in the FMC. Even directed the installer to FS/FMCWP/NAVDATA folder and still no update.Now I realize that maybe I don't really need the newer versions if I'm not flying on line or using VATSIM or something similar, and besides, all my flights will only take an hour or two and in in the…

Hi There,Small question about takeoff procedures for the 737NG. I try to arm LNAV and VNAV before takeoff, so they will instantly activate when I engage AP after takeoff.I can now only select LNAV and VNAV after engaging the AP after takeoff. This means that other modes are activated first (HDG, SPD). Don't want that to happen..The FMC programming is complete and correct; A/T and FD are both armed; AP disengage switch is up. V2, cleared ALT and HDG are set on the MCP. Takeoff config is OK, no warnings or messages.With the 747 this works well. Am I doing something wrong or am I trying to do something that is impossible with the 737NG? Regards,David Bernard
