I'm happy to see that Stephan is getting some real financial and tech support for his new Navdata submissions. I the meantime, although I've registered for his site, I would appreciate hearing comments from those currently using the commerical Navdata product, and how you feel the 10.06 is working out and what costs are involved.Ron - CYEG

I just recently purchased the 744 and 744F. I've been learning alot but still run into problems. This morning I set up a flight plan from MMMX to SBKP. I entered all of my way points into the FMC and activated the flight plan. Then I got an insufficient fuel message from the FMC. I investigated the issue and found on my legs menu about twice as many pages than I started with. I found many more way points that took me way off course by ~ 3,000 nm, then back to the next way point and back on course in the original flight plan. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Whenever I can, I input wind information into the 744's FMC. The only problem is that sometimes I would go back and the information would be deleted and I'd have to put it in all over again. I discovered that if I so much as change what arrival runway I expect, the winds are deleted.Is this a bug or does it happen on the real aircraft as well? Can we look forward to having the wind data automatically put in with the FSX version? Or is that information TOP SECRET?Also, I had an idea regarding the ACARS in the FMC. Can anyone give me the website link to the FS9 update? I am just about ready toput my fist through my computer screen because I can't find it. Every search I do spits out stuff about FSX. Has Microsoft already forgotten that some people do actually still use FS9??? While flying the 747-400, I occasionally get a continuous loud squeal from the speakers that may last a minute or so. This particularly happens when I change views in 2D to an outside view or to tower or spot view. Can anyone help with this?Also, I recently installed the new sound file update for the 747 in the hope that this would stop the squealing but there's been no change. I noticed in the install notes for the sound update, that if you intend to uninstall 747-400 you have to uninstall the sound update first. How do you do this?Thanks in advance.Guy

Hi, How do you program the following SID in the FMC. For example, if the SID says " Climb on heading 235 till 1000, then turn let to heading 170 climbing to 3000". I have seen when you import a SID already in the database it will put a waypoint of this nature (1000) and the associated TRK. How do I manually put this in ? Thanks for your help.arindam sen

Wow! I made myself wait until after I finished by taxes.. then after a year of 737NG flying I've moved into the 747 Queen of the Skies. I'm on my second run between KORD & EGLL... got lot's to learn but I sure am having fun.This also means the sidstar procedures coming out soon for Cycle 0704 will have some minor tweaking to work better in the 747. I'm a little confused on the FMC cost index. On page 8-21 of the 737 manual under Cost Index it says "A cost index of 00 will result in the maximum fuel cost." Does'nt a low cost index mean a minimum fuel burn with the best range? Does'nt it also mean as the cost index increases, so does the fuel consumption and speed and therefore more cost for fuel? Could someone please clarify? Thanks. Tom

Hi,Currently flying with the PMDG 737-800 within FS9. I'd like to be able to engage LNAV so I can leave the FMC to fly the plane for short periods and ensure the course is followed rather then my IFR being cancelled.Currently when selecting LNAV, the FMC first button lights, so I'm assuming there's some additional data that I need to input in order for the computer to follow understand the course I'm following.Whilst I'm assuming the data needs to be added to RTE (have added start and destination airports in here) I'm not entirely sure of what additional data I need to add.Is anyone able to assist here?Thanks in advance - Daniel

Good daySorry for my poor English After a complete reinstallation due to a HD crash, I get some strange problems with the 747-400 and 747-400F.After about 1 hour flying the 3 crt become black.In the same time the auto pilot stop working and the airplane drift slowly .and the plane becomes crazy.For example if I want to come to the right the plane sometimes goes left, and never stops on the select heading.In manual mode it is possible to control the airplane but it is impossible to make it flying in auto pilot mode again.If I change aircraft and come back to the 747 ,everything seem to be in good condition and autopilot is working again .I only change my sata HD f…

As I am still learning I have replaced the original panel to a default FS2004 panel in my aircrafts.However in the PMDG 747 I have a little problem. The default panel shows up, I can alter the altitude etc but I cannot activate it along with the other gauges for example the AP switch.The lights do not show to indicate that they are turned on.Is there a way of correcting this so that I can fly the aircraft, and also use the default Flightplanner so that I can get from A to B.Christiaan

HelloI have a 747-400 and flown with a couple of time now.Did all the tutorials, without any problems.Since yesterday I have this huge problem that the aircraft will not level off at the cruize altitude, it is climbing and try to reach the Max altitude of 41800 in this case. The set cruize alt was 25000.What ever I did, changing the MCP Alt. pressing FL CH, pressing VNAV again, nothing helped even pressing Alt Hold.Also the acrft never get to the calculated speed of 322 and it ended at 192.Even after TOD it kept trying to reach the Max alt.After changing the MCP Alt and pressed Fl Ch it get down, but when I press VNAV again it start climbing again.In the VNAV page all w…

You can continue to using FS but this aircraft will be disabled. file: gaugespmdg_747400_Main.gau"This is after a fresh install of XP on a hardrive partition after installing vista. Now that I have the basics of the FMC's figured out I was all set to do some flying between larger terminals in Europe--alas "NOT IN DATABASE" comes up in the FMC when I attempt to input jetways and airports. Waz up with that? I have the latest navaids installed.Noel

Greetings ppl!Just wanted to find out if anyone had tried out the Feel There/Wilco serie A318-320 aircrafts.I'm tempted to try this one out while the PMDG one waits to be towed in... I'm more for a complex sim unlike the CLS A340/500. Any picks or pans on this one? How would it compare with the PSS one (systems-wise & handling-wise mainly)?!Best,Jay

As you may be aware some 737's are now being fitted with a Live2air system which involves a "hump" on the top rear end of the aircrafts fuse. An update for the FS9 one would be favorable.I wouldnt imagine it would take much, but then again i do have no idear about modelling :DIf not :( Is there a way that i could modify it with ur permission if you dont want to do it?

Hi all, My 737, any varient, will creep ahead at idle thrust with the parking brakes set,, N1 22.6 And with the brakes released it will roll fast enough for taxi speed. Hi People !How can i see the wing-view in 744 ? Like i do in the 737 pressing the S-key once. Is this only possible in the 2-D cockpit view ? And how do i get this in the 744 ?Thanks MArek

To all real world 737 NG pilots out there.What actually gets done during the cruise portion of a flight ?I have heard the term monitor systems quite a lot, but what actually does that mean when flying the real 737 NG.We have heaps of checklists and information about the startup, pre takeoff, takeoff, after takeoff, descent, landing and shutdown. I want to make my flights more real but I have nothing to do during the cruise.ThanksNiall

Hy everybodythis is Gilles, sorry for my bad english, but i have a problem i would resolve in re-painting 744 PMDG.When i see my repaint job of the 747 PMDG, the textures in FS are blurred instead of sharp. I precise that it's not an error of my graphic card because the originals textures of the 744PMDG are sharp.So i describe you how i do to repaint my aircraft and please let me say what is wrong and what is right.I download the paintkit on pmdg site.I use the PMDG_747_FUSE_LEFT_T.psd file open it in Photoshop et do my repaint on layers.After that, i link all the layers in one layer.Then i use the 747400_Fuse_Cut_Template.psd to cut out the fuselage sections and to place…

Hey, All This is rather embarrassing to say the least. But this has been bothering the heck out of me so I might aswell get over it and just ask. As you can see in the pic in the PFD right under VNAV PTH it says RADIO 100 what does this mean? I have looked and looked in the PMDG operation manuals and cannot find an anwser to this.
