Will we ever see a Type Rating Lesson 5 for the 747-400? It was indicated at the end of TRL 4 that a lesson (5) on approaches would be produced.Regards,Guy:-hmmm

I need to know how do configure a flight in the FMC. Ice completed this tutorial http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/ and in that one i download a file and put it in the flightplan folder. But when i was finished with that i wanted to make my own flight. I started up and typed in KLAXKSFO001 at the Co Route place. It said "Not in database" And nothing more happend. How am i supposed to make my own flightpatch using the FMC? Do i have to create my own one of theese files that i put in the Flightplans folder? How? Why? Is there any other ways i can do it?Pleease help me. I really wanna know how to do this.

Hi,I bought the famous PMDG 744 from long time ago at simware. Today i read a book about airplanes accidents and one story was about a B744 who take off using the runway which was closed from the middle because of fixing some lights on the ground and repair asphalt.You can imagine what happened to the big aircraft!!!!But in the story the author speaks about PVD.The PVD technical term is: PVD is used for Take off phase at very low visibility. Very performant system which helps pilots to maintain nosewheel near the runway center line. This system works whith black diagonales and a white background on a screen.Is the 744 PMDG simulate this system?Thanks a lot.Bye.

Hi all, I've been looking at this x52 for a while now and have now saved enough to buy the Pro version. Before I do I wanted some feedback from other PMDG pilots who use the 52 either version to make sure it works ok with these aircraft.Any input, oppinion or advise would be appreciated.Thanks, Glen Lee

Its only taken me until know to sort this out,How do I get the PFD tape colour to stick. I want it set at black, but every time I load the 737 it defaults back to grey! I have managed to have the FMC fonts stay green, but this tape colour is driving me nuts as I have to reset it every time, Qantas or Virgin Blue carier doesnt mater (it is actually the Virgin Blue carrier colours in real life)Thanks for your assistanceDean Riches

Hi i am having problems loading Pmdg or any other payware acft into FS9. If i load the default cessna everything works perfectly. However when i change aircraft to payware acft including PMDG i get a msg that FS9 needs to close. In the error report to Mcsft, they include the FS9cfg.txt file and the scenery.cfg fileAny clue as to what is happening. This has happened since i ran a few spyware programs to remove some malicious files i had.Please helpThanksRon

I seem to remember seeing an FMC desk unit on offer for PMDG aircraft. It acts as an alternative for the onscreen FMC.If you know of it do you know whether it's suitable for FSX/Vista use?I'd appreciate that link.Cliff

Greetings all,I'm sure this question has been answered previously but I couldn't find anything in the forum. If I'm doing 2 flights in a row (eg: LGA-ORD, then ORD-DEN) how do I reset the FMC between flights? I know I can reboot FS, but if I'm flying on VATSIM I'd prefer to sit at the gate and reset everything without logging off. I tried entering the current airport in the "POS ident" box but that didn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?Thanks,Ron

Hi,During cruise at FL31000 using pmdg 747-400, With LNAV turned on, I shutdown the engine 3, 4 and turn off the yam damper function. My expectation is the plane will deviate from the original route and yam to right. But it doesn't, is it normal.Rgds,Thomas

Hi,I saved a flight for PMDG 747-400 after I finished entering the route in MCP. Howeverm whenn the saved flight is reloaded, the PFD is messed up and all the waypoints disappear. Any ideas?Rdgs,Thomas

hi guys,we are a group of students in temasek polytechnic, singapore and we are buliding a cockpit simulator for our major project.as part of our project we are using pmsystems software of project magenta and microsoft flight simulator 2004. We we were able to control and communicate with flight simulator though pmsytems, but after installing pmdg, we cannot communicate.is there any software patch available to make the communication??we were using wideFS and FSUIPC to communicate until now, do we have to dowload any new software??please help us.thank you

Good day all. I've been having a problem with the sounds in the 737. When I turn on the APU genrators there is a clicking sound. Before I re-installed the plane again it would just click once then stop (which I assume was normal). But now it keeps clicking throughout the flight. The only to make it stop is to turn off the generators, but then A/T won't arm and hold. Also, it's not the sound you get when adjusting the pitch/trim. Any help to make it stop?P.S. I looked and it's not in the sounds file under the 737-700.-- Jake

Hi everyone,I'd like to know if there is a good engine sound for the pmdg 747 and 747F especially with the GE engines I tried downloading it from the pmdg website but to be honest I expected more, I downloaded one from the avsim page to be specific from Devyn Silverstei(GE sound) this one really rocks on the take off phase but I don't like the sound when you apply the brakes when you're descelerating after touchdown (of course)Another thing the program FS2crew(PMDG 747 EDITION) just provides the sound for the cockpit or it provides for the engines, too.Any advices are welcome,Regards,VIctor.

Apologies if this has already been discussed but I can't get the Number 3 engine reverser to map to my CH throttle quadrant. The other engines work fine and they are all set up the same, any ideas ?Also I can't seem to be able to map a key press to activete the strobes again any ideas ?Many thanks, Andy.

All of a sudden, today I have no keyboard use when flying PMDG 737, worked yesterday!. i.e when I push the "s' key it will switch views in any other aircraft, and it used to do it in the 737, until today. I can use the F9 key to change to FSNav. I did a PMDG forum search on "keyboard" but none of the results worked for me. Any ideas? Thanks Bob

Hello, For whatever reason, I'm getting a CTD when I try to load my PMDG 737NG. I searched and followed the usual guidelines (ie. Render to Texture, Loading the default cessna), but I have not had any success. I'm thinking that I will reinstall the PMDG 737, but I'm worried about messing up my PMDG 747. My question is: If I uninstall/reinstall the 737, do I need to do the same with the 747? The reason I'm worried is that I can't find my back-up installer of the 747, although I do have the installer for the 747f. If anyone has any comments they would greatly be appreciated.Thanks in advance,Thumper8

Ryan,I don't know if you saw my reply in the FSX forum regarding your nHancer usage and settings but let me just say, using 8xS and turning off transparency AA among your other settings has made FS9 and FSX the best it has ever looked on any of my rigs. Hi everyoneI post on this forum because i have not found any other reasonable way to contact PMDG people, so excuse if perhaps you do not find useful at all my post. First i have to say that PMDG products are SO GOOD and i have to congratulate PMDG for being so good making fantastic sim-airplanes.I have forgotten to say that i'm a spanish sim-fan (so excuse again if my english is not as good as i wanted to) that enjoys even more knowing and discovering all the things that a 747-400 can do and all the physics and engineering stuff that lies behind. HiA couple of days ago I experimented with running undocked panels on a second screen. I undocked the FMC, Throttle and Comms Panels and did a little test run. For some unknown reason I also decided to undock the overhead then changed my mind and redocked it.Since this fiddling escapade I have ditched the idea of a second monitor for the immediate future and redocked all the panels.The problem I now have is when opening the overhead with the relevant button press everything works as intended. However, when I press one of the buttons to revert to another panel it doesn't work and I have to manually close the panel.Any suggestions on how I might correct this problem?Regards…
