Hello everyone,I'm new to PMDG 747-400X and the forum.The question I have is this;Why can't I create a SID/STAR directly via my FMC?From what I have been able to determine thus far, I can only create such directly through the PMDG "sidstars" folder (such as Terry Yingling's turorial rev #5).I was certain that in real-life you can create a SID/STAR using the Smiths (Boeing) FMC/CDU directly.You assistance is much appreciated.Also, can anyone advise where the "Expanded Procedures" checklist is located?Tutorial #1 -ie PMDG 747 Type Course Lesson #1 refers to it (pg 1 - 4, Power Up & First officer Preflight) but I can't locate it anywhere. Hi,I am a trifle bemused!a)in FS9(747-400) when pressing TOGA and reaching 60kts the Thrustmode changes to Hold-Mode ;when i now move the Throttles to Idle they remains there! for me this is all right!b)in FSX(747-400) when pressing TOGA and reaching 60kts the Thrustmode changes to Hold-Mode but when i now move the Throttles to Idle they are going slowly forwards to full power!question: What is right???ThanksJ

I have recently reinstalled my whole XP operating system but have not installed FSX yet.On my PMDG 737 Load Manager, I cannot get the sliders to move at all.Any help with this would be much appreciatedThanks in advanceJim M

Hi Rayek,AGP is an ancient technology at this point. You should really think about upgrading to a whole new PC. In order to use any of the newer video cards, you need PCI Express, and that means getting a new motherboard. Getting a new motherboard in turn means getting a new CPU and RAM too. That's basically a whole new PC.

Hi,I'm having serious problems with my Asus Striker Extreme motherboard. It's never been stable and now it has finally died. Fortunately it is still under warranty, so it will get RMAed. So, I'm looking to get a new motherboard and wondered what you can recommend in terms of performance when running FSX/PMDG 747-400X. Hello PMDG Team,I have got a question regarding the 'Approaching Minimums' callout, which was introduced with the 747X. With the release of the new Service Pack, you have mentioned that the 747 for FS9 was brought to the same state as the 747X is (as far as this is possible in both sims).Is there any chance that the 'Approaching Minimums' callout has made it into the service pack and the sound file was accidently left out? Or is this still an 747X feature only?Not that I necessarily need it, but I am just curious :D.kind regards,Christian

I am wondering why when taking off if I engage VNAV or LNAV prior to the yellow line that follows altitude tape on the ND the aircraft wont go above 250 knots which when heavy wont allow me to raise the flaps all the way. If I wait and engage after the line disappears the aircraft will fly at a higher speed. (272kts on my current flight) By the way I do understand that speed above 250 knots is prohibited below 10,000 feet.Thanks

How can I find and install the KSEA (SID) Bluit4 and KORD (STAR)JVL.JVL4? I have installed the PMDG 747X and updated the lastest NAVData. I even installed specific SIDs and STARs from Precisionmanuals downloads. These files are always missing. I am using Vista OS.ThanksCarl

Hi,While programming my FMC, I try to add waypoints (as on my flightplan), and I get the msg in FMC 'not in database'. I know so much as I need to add some navdata. I've been looking at navigraph.com and i see there is a package for PMDG for a mystery sum of 'credits'. I have to admit I am very perplexed as to what EXACTLY I NEED to be able to use my FMC properly.Am I on the right track? Could someone please point me in the right direction. Do i really need to buy these things?Help much appreciated,Gary. :)

Hi guys. Would like to ask something please. I am using Windows XP Professional 64 bit and i was told by the pmdg staff that to make the activation works properly, you have to install FS2004 and PMDG in the drive C program files x86 (32bit) folder. I was wondering if that is a must as i usually install FS2004 in drive D as i have more spaces. I mean it's not the end of the world if i have to install in the drive C but would prefer to install in Drive D.Thanks so much for your help. Look forward to hearing from you all soon.

I know this is off-topic about PMDG but B-747 pilots are always interested what happens with this bird in real life ...Today a Boeing 747-200F crashed short after take-off in Bogota area, capital of Colombia. Three crew members and two victims on the ground shouldn't survived the crash, :(.It's already the second crash for Kalitta Air with B-742F in a couple of months. Last crash was in Brussels (EBBR) also at take-off but not airborne. No-one get hurt in Brussels.PeterBelgiumFlightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ....

Hi all,I can't seem to locate some of the service updates for the PMDG 747-400 and 400F. I've just re-installed the PMDG 747-400 and I think it's version 1.01. According to the order of installation, I need to install the service update 1.1 and then install the 747-400F. After re-installing the 747-400F, I need to install the service update 1.01 for the 747-400F. Then I need to install the universal sound update. But I can't find these updates anywhere on PMDG's website. Where can I find these service updates? Thanks, Ken.

Hey, when I depress TO/GA at or near to DH when the autopilot is activated, FSX crashes to desktop. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to solve it?I select TO/GA via a joystick button which is mapped to a key command selected in PMDG key assignments menu.This problem is very anoying so hopefully somebody can help.

Hi folks,a rather strange behavior I found concerning display brightness and display transfer.Turning down the brightness of a display and than transferring that to an other display will "take" the brightness properties along with it to its new location.Anyone can confirm this, please?regards,delcom

Hi,everyone. I recently updated 747X to VERSION v2.10.0040. But, everytime I launch 747X,PFD and ND and EICAS display disappearsin few minitute. It just blacks out in both 2D and 3D cockpit mode.FMC and rest of the features are working fine.So it may be a videocard problem.Video Card 7600GS(Geforce)I tried the Nvidia WHQL latest video card driver, but the problemis not yet solved. Hi thereWhen I press F7 or F8 to set the flaps, on the wings only the things where the flaps are attached move but the flaps themselves don't move. how come? I installed the update from May08, but it doesn't help. Thanks for any help.Daniel
