i have just changed my pc to an upgrade but all my PMDG 747 and 8i folders were downloaded to on old PC...i have my old order can i get a new download url or have i got to order again....answer appreciated thanks Paul

Hi PMDG. Just wondering if the 737ngx comes close to what boeing would use for their real world simulators. Seeing on Youtube Home made cockpits with real panels and gauges makes me think it must be very close. Could Boeing use this software on their simulator. Brett Nicholls

In this forum, I've heard a lot of times about alpha and beta testing of an add-on, specially about the NGX. But my doubt is what are the differences between the two stages. What can be interpreted when someone says that something is in alpha stage or beta stage?Any answer (most of) is welcome.Thanks in advance.

Can I preorder the NGX? Are you guys going to do that?--I did that with Vertical Reality and Thier F-18 and it was great=paid my money up front, couple of months later got an email that it was out and gave me the download links. It was really easy, convienient and the developer got some money up front. I imagine there were other benefits I was not aware of such as the developer getting some idea of the interest by customers. Would rather pay now (actually my wife because she wants to give it as a gift to me--doll!) than worry about it later (after the post Christmas I'm broke settles in).What ya think?

As anticipated, there's so much good stuff in these extensive manuals, it's an excellent idea to have made them available for familiarization before the simulation itself is released. There obviously can't be a more authentic training manual or a more complete aircraft encylopaedia than the original Boeing publications. So congratulations and thanks to PMDG (and Boeing) for the privilege of access to these works of reference, which will greatly enrich our experience of the PMDG 737NGX in due course. I am not sure if this is 100% specific to PMDG, but so far I have only noticed it with the PMDG 747 and also the 737NG - all in FS9. So am posting here.I quite often get a kind of musical rising and falling note, like a low, slow sine wave, along with the engine sounds (can be spot or cockpit view). I thought it was the fault of the sound files themselves, but I notice on my FS PC (which is flying a 737-900 as I write this on my laptop) that the sine wave sound has just stopped (even though the a/c hasn't changed mode - on cruise all the time).Does anyone else get this (or even know what I am talking about!)? With the imminent (hopefully!) arrival of the NGX, I'm looking at what external tools I can use that will make flight planning and its execution more realistic. At the moment FSX is very weak on flight planning. For instance the flight planning tool is pretty simplistic and there is no virtual 'dispatcher' to issue you with fuel/load-out charts or any kind of operational flight plan. Secondly, the whole weather system is quite simplistic, and again you don't get accurate weather reports such as METAR/TAF, significant weather charts and decent wind information (as far as I'm aware).I guess my question is, what tools exist to give me this information? Its seems neither FS replay nor FS recorder can accuratly record all of the parameters of the complex planes. Like viewing the plane from the outisde FS recorder seems to accurately display all the aileron movement etc but when inside cockpit the screens are black and juts seems it can't handle complexity. So would PMDG ever consider trying to make a program say just for their planes that can accurately replay their planes Or is this another FSX limitation :(

Hi guys.This is not really a PMDG problem, although it does happen when flying PMDG aircraft, but I'd rather post here, because I know a lot of people here and you guys feel like friends. :( Anyone know what this is and why it happens? I get it at many airports on the ground, or on the side of a hangar/terminal building. Where can i find the normal procedures as a PDF on the WEB for the 737NG - so i can get prepared according to PF and PNF. i've tried google it with no luck - any ideas?

In older PMDG add-ons you could click on a panel and then dock it in a window - which is a great feature. Will this be available in 737NGX too?

Would anyone who has the manuals like to confirm whether or not they include all the required performance information to calculate derated / reduced thrust take offs?This data was of course missing from the MD-11 manuals and I seem to recall it being said that it would be available for the NGX. Do the manuals contain tables for take off speeds at different weights? and more importantly do they contain the information to calculate your own performance for assumed temperature reduced thrust take offs?I imagine this info, if there, will be in the FCOM Vol. 1 or the QRH. With the coorperation from Boeing this time, it would be great to have this. As an aside, AFAIK the NG FM…

So at work today we boarded an A319, and I've never seen a screen so dirty, no crew bothered to wash it I guess, it had fly splatters all over it, needless to say, we didn't bother either.Any chance of having this on the NGX? rather than just having a clean screen all the time?? Hi guys this post is a simple discussion about what you are doing waiting for ngx. Suggestion are accepted.I personally shut off FS for a while and i'm spending time in alternative games like long GDR or strategic game on pc and PS3.I think i'll spend 50 / 60 euros on steam to buy something good any suggestion ?The problem was when my wife wants play the damned Farmville on facebook :( on a 2000 euros PC with my big fat cat sleeping on the tower !So in this long time of wating i'm studying how to distroy farmville, taking my cat away from pc fans and i wash looking for a netbook for my wife.What are you doing wating for NGX ?

Encountered this when both 747 & 737NG flights attempted into KMDW. Only Localizer is showing on approach and the GS shows up AFTER the approach ends and the plane has cruised past threshold overflying the runway.Does anyone here have the answer?ThanksDennis Robart

Well, I've not a super awesome computer, and well you see, the 737 is my favorite aircraft and I want to fly this airplane in all its beauty. So my question is, will this bird have an option to change the texture resolutions and change the frame rates of the displays? If so that would be greatly appreciated.

Im not too sure how many people in here enjoy fighter jets and military planes ( I know I do), but Iris Flight simulation is having a sale on their F-14 ( the VC is to DIE!!! for) for the next 24 hours. Its only $5.00. The plane sells for $50.00. They are having what they call a Five Dollar Frenzy. I know this isn't PMDG related, but I just wanted to pass the information to anyone that wants to hear it, and this is the main Avsim forum that I tend to use. Just thought some might like to know.
