PMDG General Forum

I have been flying aircraft for flight sims for several years now and have found nothing to touch the PMDG 737 800/900 for realism. It is certainly (and deservedly) streaks ahead of the competition. However, I would like to expand my fleet a little and wonder if members think there is any other brand of aircraft that are comparable to PMDG.Jim C

Hello,My average framerate using the MD11 or J41 is 15f/ps on the ground and 25 high up in the air.(Use REX and airport addons)I have a Intel Quadcore 2.6 Ghz Q8400 CPU, use 8Gb DDR2 and have a Nvidia GTX 285.FSX is on a dedicated drive (2Tb), setting all medium.I was wondering if someone with a "similar" system get the same average framerates or do I have to tweak and is much more possible?(in the mean time saving for a new Sandybridge and DDR3 )Looking forward to some experiencesRegards,Eric

Hello everyone, Like the rest of you, I was disappointed when the 737NGX did not materialise in 2010 after all the hype and I began wondering why. I scrolled the Forum back to the post by Captain Robert on 20.11.2010 where he posted the Heads Up view of the aircraft where everyone was amazed at the screenshots. HiI have a problem with the doors of by the FSX PMDG 747! I can't open menu them by mapping in FSX PMDG. That means no matter I documents which button it will not open! The FS9, I had no problems since! Should I switch what about there? . Can someone help me please? :( Yes i can canche buttons in the PMDG FS menü , but the nothing, some simmer friends tolt me he have the sam problems! Hi folks, had to reinstall fs9 after a HD crash and now my load manager for the 737 800 and 900 does not work. It works fine with 600-700. Any help will be greatly appreciated.skyhog66

Thats It!, I have finally decided over the period of a year, I am going to earn some money and I am going to get myself a FSX system that will have the sliders all fully and with tons of scenery and aircrafts and traffic! Good day all. I use FSInn to connect to the Vatsim network - the latest version. I (sim) fly a B767-300ER and just installed the MD-11 from PMDG. I'm excited to use this tri-jet.From the 'other' designer's forums, it is well documented that the current iteration of FSInn is not well behaved in FSX A/C after climbing through FL220+. It is recommended to turn OFF the FSInn weather engine - by selecting CAVOK - once passing through FL220. Otherwise some sort of inverse calaulation/algorithm takes over... whereby the OAT is assumed to get hotter as one climbs higher. Turbines do not perform efficiently in hot/warm air. I'm considering buying Vroute Premium for planning flights for the J41 and wondered how good/compatible it is with the J41?As far as I can tell, it is possible to generate .rte files for the FMC, but can you also generate FSX (.pln) flights? I like how you can generate a Flight Progress Card (PDF). Neat. Would you say it is a 'complete' flight planner for the J41?Also, what is the weather reporting like? Can you opt to download weather from Active Sky (Evolution)? Hoping someone can assist. This is my problem. I have just started using FSBuild and when I build my flightplan I get a message " Unable to create FS2000 file C:\Users\Andrew\Documents\Flight Simulator Files\YSSY-YMML.PLN". The root folder has been set up correctly under the option tab and in the export to dropdown menu I have FS2004/FSX and PMDG checked. Even though I receive the above message, the flightplan is successfully exported to the PMDG flightplan folder.The FSBuild is version 2.3.1.Any ideas?

Heya peops, Since we all use addons, at the very least, PMDG's babies. I thought it would be fun and informative to list our addons and maybe some comments on what we like, why we use over another, tricks and tips or whatever you'd like to say. I have a ton and keep looking for others, both to add to the fun and some to replace some that I already use.
