Nothing to do with Candy.Used the MD11 to fly the STAR mentioned by Ryan into KLAX. SEAVU2 -ILS25L.For the purpose of VNAV, selected the RNAV (Z) approach to 25L.-Observations:The next waypoint on the STAR and following approach, is sequenced as soon as the nose of the aircraft symbol hits the magenta waypoint position. However: the next altitude restriction is sequenced some time later, when the aircraft center, which is the (MD11) present position, is passing that waypoint. As these two instances are not simultanious, this triggers a temporary level-off, de-stabilising the continuous descent profile.(for this reason I use FPA for the final stages of the approach.)As far a…

Does anyone have any extra tweaking tips? I have tried the venedoo (I don't remember the correct name) but my performance is still on par than without them. I have the external Locker. I just don't know what to try. Add-ons are appreciated if any.I have a medium built computer, capable of running FSX on med sliders.

Hello Everybody,So while we wait for the NGX to be released, lets separate the men from the boys (or the engineers from the pilots.) I have decided to start a quiz thread similar to what they are doing at FSL for their Scarebus.... I want to see how many of you have studied your manuals ;) Then again, this might keep some people busy and surely stop the constant whining 'are we there yet?' style posts. Oh and.... I might actually learn something new!So drumroll please...... Question 1: As Ryan mentioned: "Does anyone know what a BYPASS prompt above a waypoint on the LEGS page means in terms of what's actually happening to the flight path?" Well.... does anyone know wha…

I was watching ITVVs 737 program and the captain mentioned that the left trim wheel was made by a completely different company than who makes the right side trim wheel. Does anyone know why the same company couldn't just make both and if the NG's have the same quirk?

  10. Captains-Tonight I finished filming the video sequences I need to show you some cool features of the upcoming PMDG 737NGX, so I imagine I'll be spending some time editing them into a YouTube-able video once I clean them up and reshoot any sequences that I goofed up the first time through...I think you will like what we have in store for you with these updates, as both show some aspects of the airplane that you will really enjoy! As amazing as it seems, I had planned to shoot this video two weeks ago, but the non-stop effort to get the NGX into release candidate mode takes priority over just about everything these days. Currently the work-schedule is about 18hrs per day, s…

  11. Hi everyone, I have a question for those of you who have many scenery (paywares or freeware). How realistic do you want a flight simulator scenery to be? We all agree that the more realistic the better. But it also means (usually) less frames rates friendly and so the need of a more powerful computer. So do you for example want the buildings around the airport to be modeled as close to the real ones? Do you want grass around the airport? Peoples? What do you think is more important for a flight simulator airport? Thanks for your replies . That will help me a lot to make the best FS scenery :(

I continue to have fatal error and FSX crashes to desktop. There has been mentioning of deleting the uiautmationcore.dll from FSX and system files. On the other hand, it has been mentioned not to delete these from the system files and was given a uiautomationcore.dll file to place in the root of FSX.FSX continues to crash while flying at various times.I have no glue what to do about this.Update (1545 hrs on 06-15-2011)I have also just copied and pasted this "HIGHMEMFIX=1" into the FSX.cfg file.Has there been any noticable fixes when this entry is put into the cfg file as well as the uiautomationcore.dll in regards to theCTD Fatal Error issue with FSX and Windows7?Will try F…

Please excuse my posting if this has already been answered....RSR quoted: " the aerodynamic forces of the 800 are nearly perfectly simulated on the NGX." I assume from that being said that the 800NGX will exhibit the actual stall characteristics of the 800 NG, or is there a limitation to this because of FSX programming? jen noulet

Dear PMDG product manager,AS many others here in this forum I am waiting for the release of PMDG's new B737NG for FSX. I fully respect that the release will come when the product is ready. But, is it possible to release the SDK documentation now, so that I together with a lot of other cockpit builders can start to work with interfacing the B737NG code through the SDK to the cockpit hardware like Opencockpits and other systems? In doing this we could have the PMDG B737NG ready to to be connected to hardware shortly after the release and not several months later. If this QA has been asked before, please direct me to the post.best regards,Roar Kristensen

Well the dog days of summer have arrived here in Texas. I'm just hoping a certain long anticipated piece of simulation software will appear in the PMDG store soon. It would be so nice to have something new and exciting to do while sitting in the cool air conditioning. All the other past times have grown stale and boring. Knowing this new software will be coming some day makes it hard to get excited about another game of solitaire or one more spin around the virtual pattern in a lesser add-on. PMDG please relieve the tedium of buzzing about in my lovely Katana. It's a wonderful bird but it's sooo hot in the summer. The cool breeze of some pack cooled CFM bleed air w…

1st Post. When traveling I've often experienced the feeling of the aircraft dropping on its hydraulic suspension after the wheels have kissed the ground. Is it possible to simulate this? or is it already possible in PMDG aircraft. I've tried some very soft landings on the MD-11 and 747 and have been unable to reproduce this effect. I'm sure you guys understand what I'm getting at.Isaac

  19. Is anyone using this yet? I am curious if so whether one can program some of the specific PMDG 747 switches like autopilot disconnect, MCP press AT, etc. Although I could get those functions to work in FS 9 with native aircraft, using the CH Pro Yoke, I could never activate the switches to work with PMDG 747 with my CH Pro Yoke. Thanks,Greg

Is it even worth it to spend tons of money on flight training (+university) only to struggle on low pay for years with bad job security, low chances of getting hired, and not so good conditions when hired?Or is it more sensible to get a degree, and try and find an office job and work up the ladder from here? I'm curious to see the point of views on this.

hello everyone, I have been using ORBX scenery for a while and liked it very much, but today I think I should get flytampa KSEA and KSFO addons for my Pacific northwest scenery. I want to know that if they are compatible with ORBX or not? If anyone is using the same, please help me. Is there any better of them other than flytampa? like flight beam KSFO or any other.thanksNOTE: ORBX forums are down, error: we cannot determine on which board this topic is etc. etc., that is why I am asking it here.

Hey guys,I currently have an i7 920 O'Ced to around 3.7GHZ. My only trouble I am having is that when I attempt to OC it past 4 GHZ I get Bsod's and overheating issues. Would it be any benefit for me in FSX to buy the i7 2600K and OC it to around 4.5 GHZ? FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, they are extremely easy to OC. Best Regards,

How long is it going to take for the PMDG737NGX to finally roll out? We've waited for a long time, and we're becoming impatient. However, I understand that to make a great product takes time. So far the sneak-peak videos & screenshots have shown something amazing! To the 737ngx dev-team, keep up the great work, and keep the screenshots coming, because screenshots tell us that u guys are still putting in effort to make it great, and trying to finish it in as little time as possible. Keep up the great work!Thanks,Niro56
