Hi folks!I just saw this: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE523Looks like it will be arriving in BHM in a few hours. Does anyone know what this is all about? Why would they want to come here? I'd like to see if I can catch its arrival and departure, but I don't really know how to find its agenda.BTW: For those interested in the BHM expansion project:The project is now well underway. See here for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham-Shuttlesworth_International_Airport#Terminal_Expansion_and_ModernizationTerminal A has been demolished, Terminal B has been closed, and the old cargo terminal has also been demolished. Terminal C is currently handling all flig…

Hi all in the forumWanted to share with you all the exeptional service that I received when submitting a ticket to PMDG support. I have been a customer of PMDG since the 737 for fs9 was new, and this is the first ticket I have submitted in all that time. Other issues have been solveable via this forum. I opened my technical support account at uk time 22.50 Monday and submitted the ticket immediately (didn't go through first time) but went through secont time. The issue was a well documented one (fonts on MD11) and a search on the forum suggested not to ask for them on the forum but submit a ticket to avoid file sharing on the forum. At uk time 23.28 Monday I had a reply f…

We need a PMDG Biz-jet. Imagine a citation or challenger, or global express, or a falcon....There would be nothing even close to it with the PMDG level of quality in the flightsim world. A single-pilot certified jet, such as a Citation CJ4 or Embraer Phenom 300 would add to the realism for us simmers without a copilot.Come on PMDG, give us a Biz-jet!Thanks,John

Do engines shut right down after you've pulled the Engine Cutoff Knobs/Levers? I'm asking because... I'd think that there would still be fuel being in the lines still shortly after, thus causing a delay....So is it instant?Voice answers please!

I wanted to take a moment to thank Matt, all the techs at PMDG, and especially Ryan for all the effort put forth on an issue I have. I will not go into details concerning that issue here. The purpose of this thread is to tell the PMDG Flight Sim community what type of people are working at PMDG. Ryan has worked hours trying to solve my problem, remoting in twice and spending, in one session, a marathon 4+ hours trying to find a solution. He is even going so far as to contact the maker of a piece of hardware on my system in an attempt to find a solution. This type of dedication and fortitude is the reason PMDG is what they are today, the best damn producer of sim airplanes…

Gents, a quick question...There seems to be a current trend of putting winglets on new aircraft and also retrofitting them to older aircraft to gain efficiencies in fuel economy and lift. However, the current (and future) big boeings don't seem to use them 777, 748 & 787 and neither does the Airbus A380 is this because modern advances in wing design and efficiency mean that the winglets are not needed or is it a different reason?Cheers,Andy Hedges

Hi EveryoneI just came back from a two week trip in asia and i relised one thing, no one operates the 737NG. I was in Changi airport and all the major carriers (air asia , singapore airlines (silk air)) do not operate the NG. My question is this, with the A320 NEO being such as a sales sucess why not upgrade the 737. I think this aircraft will obsolete once the NEO and the new aircraft from COMAC (ryan air is choosing their aircraft over the NG) come through developement.P.S I flew on the A380 and I loved it, It is an absoulute engineering master piece, I sat near the wing and I was amazed of how big the wing span was and how quite the aircraft is.AdnanSomewhere near YM…

Hi,I run fsx with 3 displays, otherwise without any problem, but: with 3 displays the cockpit is so big and the instruments so close, that you can not look out of the window and look at the instrument at the same time. You can zoom out in the cockpit (and by far J 41 is the best cockpit for this) but it still has its limits: if you zoom out enough to see the out of the windows, the the back of the captains seat comes in and covers the instruments !! Is there any way to solve this problem? To fly with 3 displays is just fantastic..you really feel "you are the".....but you should really see out and see the full instrument panel to be able to fly. If there is no solution f…

Happy Holiday weekend guys as we are all anticipating the release of the great aircraft i have something that will pass the time by i just finished reading a book called 747 by Joe Sutter with Jay Spenser Joe was the Director of engineering for the Queen of the skies and he takes you through the ups and downs of how the beautiful 747 was created when half the US didn't think she could even fly. he faced challenges with pan am wanting a double decker A/C or if it was possible for them to make a wide body aircraft, to finding engines that could thrust the thing in the air. i strongly recommend this book to anyone that has interest in reading and anyone in the aviation field…

Well, I was thinking about not getting it, because I wanted to save the money for the NG, but I thought, its still a while away, so I decided to get the MD-11Well, what can I say, amazing. I just did the tutorial flight, and its amazing. The visual model is great, and the cockpit is amazing. It does so many things. Ohh, I love being able to open the doors, via the FMC/MCDU. It is going to keep me entertained for a while now.Great job, and bring on the next one :(

Hi Ryan,Looking at the B717 thread/question I couldn't resist to ask:Is it possible that PMDG will do a MD82/83?I have been following PMDG topics for many years. I know and understand your general policy on "omerta" on these matters and I have also read that you are currently working on two projects that have not been unveiled yet.Just a general question: MD8X possible or also "extremely unlikely"?Please do not reply to this question with "we are waiting for the 737NGX, 777 or Dash 8"Thanks,Christos

Hi Guys, I was wondering if anyone was using a Kindle to run your manauls and checklists. With the NGX out soon and all the manuals in PDF form I thought it might be a good idea to get one and put them on that. Can anyone come up with a reason not to do it this way. Thanks for any help.

Like most people who use PMDG aircraft, I can't wait to get my hands on the B737NG!Now to the future, i hear reports of further projects like the Q400 but there seems to be a gapping hole in the FSX market for a business jet like the G4? OK, you do a great job with the J41 but the G4 flies long distances, great performance and can get into small airfields. Please add it to your list guys, or even place it much higher!Regards,TERRY GALE

hello everybody,I am planning to build a new PC for FSX and I want to run it at max with addons like ORBX PNW, PMDG 747, REX 2.0, UTX etc. etc. I am considering the following components for it:CPU: Intel core i7 2600K (sandybridge) @ 3.40 GHZMotherboard: unsure about it, maybe intel DH67BLRAM: 4 GB DDR-3 (corsair XMS3)HDD: Seagate 500GBCase: Coolermaster HAF-932the problem is that I am unable to decide which video card to get, I am considering either any of these: GTX 560ti, GTX 570 and GTX 580 or HD 6870, HD 6950 and HD 6970. I don't know which one should I get amongst these six video cards, Help please? I will be playing at 1280 X 1024 screen resolution. also I will nev…

Is there a chance of the MD's cockpit getting a visual update because to me looks kinda bland and clean. Would be worth $10 I think because of the labour it would take. Mcphat have the outside covered.Because this aircraft and its systems are so unique it deserves this update.

When flying at 8000' these are a few screen grabs that I took. What could be causing the blockiness around the coasts and poor texturing on the land? This in in the PNW scenery just south of CYVR. Or is this normal for 8000' (but i dont recall it looking this bad before). The 3rd shot is a shot of my settings.Sometimes I notice on 20-30min prop flights when I am on final into my destination it seems like it take a while (1 or 2 mins) for the land to generate correctly and all the textures to look "right".Maybe the settings are to high? It almost seems as if its running out of memory or something...I do have the ENB plugin running, and I yet to use the ENB which allo…

Hi Captains,I often post here to share some videos that i put together from time to time but today i need the opinions of people who know the best aviation colleges in Canada. I want to choose a good College that offers a flight Program with a degree at the end. Generally those are a 3-4 years program in aviation technology or science + the Commercial pilot Licence. I'm looking for the most deemed, those who are recognized by companies to offer very good knowledge.Im targettingSeneca collegeUniversity of western Ontario Moncton Flight CollegeSault collegeThe ideal answer would be to say a word for each of them. Thanks for helping guys .
