PMDG General Forum

Hi I tried with some aircrafts, but one of the aircrafts with this issue is PMDG NGX. The issue is: when I put virtual cockpit and I move it down or up to see the runway (cockpit down) or to the the pedestal, throttles and so on (cockpit up), it seems that I lose resolution. If the cockpit is down I lose resolution on the left side of the cockpit as well as all the info upper left; if I move the cockpit up, I lose the runway and all its lines... Does anyone know what is this? I also set max_texture_load to 4096, but it seems that I am always back to 1024 when I close FSX and I open it again. Thanks harpsi

Well folks, My machine has been broken for some time, and I got bored waiting for parts, so I installed Ubuntu 10-04. I have never been so impressed with an OS before in my life. Being a Windows user and nothing but for years now, it was a complete shock to find that Linux/Ubuntu really is that much better. Everything loads faster (even on a 2001 computer with 512MB of RAM), it played my sounds through my surround sound system like a personal home concert (an effect Windows has never given me) and has done nothing but win yet. If Flight Sim would run on Linux, I would become a spokesperson. PLEASE do not flame me, I am still a PC user, but I also appreciate the benefits …

Hi! First i want to congratulate on the NGX, a wonderful product.I heard in some interview that you might consider developing a product that made flying more reallife.Like a program that made you file for a flight-plan, get passengers and made flying procedures more like real life. Kind of FSPassenger but PMDG style. I think this would be a great idé. Right now the 737 is very realistic but other things within FSX arent. Any chance of developing this kind of feature? br Peter

I once came across a legend/index for chart and approach plate abbreviations and acronyms etc, but now can't find it.Anyone remember where it was?Cheers

Hi Is it a good idea to use localizer during visual approach? By the way...what about real pilots do they use localizer in order to line up ? Or should visual approach be performed solely based on visual observation. Sincerely

I was flying C172 today and I got a traffic alert on the GPS about less than 800 Feet under me and it was southwest 737 coming so fast, by the time I got to see it on the radar it was too close to avoid it if it was closer. I know real ATC and approach centers separate all traffic and alert all IFR flights for traffic but if things don't go the right way will the 737 pilot get to see me on his radar. Evan Banalian.

Hello, I read about so called precision and non precision approaches and the way Iunderstand is that a precision approach includes a glide slope. My question is how can I see see - on the chart - that a glide slope exists ?It seems to me that an indication of an ILS does not automatically includea glide slope. Why is it I have to have Direct X turned on or I only get a black box where the aircraft is loaded.I did not have this problem till I lost everything and had to install everything again?It will not matter which aircraft i put in even default.

Hi All, I would greatly appreciate your support please. I've made some system changes; as in SP upgrades and the like, and somewhere along the way my FSX installation has been affected. I can still see all my addons but when loading most aircrafts I get blank gauges. This includes PMDG aircrafts and others too.. I dont wana go thru the pain of installing everything again. Please help. I've also tried deleting fsx.cfg and let it create a new one but that creates other problems! Any advice at this point will help.. Thanks a ton!

I use diffrent addons for airports but mainly "Mega airports" and some times I see airplanes with only Wing lights and no plane bodyes, but some planes at the same airport shows both body and lights....Any one having this and and a idea.........turned off cast shaddows etc. ......

I know this might not have anything to do with the PMDG but when i am flying the NGX i still have the annoying ATC voice which is not good when flying online for instance. Is there anyway to kill it ? Thanks Michael

Hello, I have got a ASUS GTX560 TI directCU II TOP card! Want to know if somebody can tell wat the best driver is ??Because with my older card I noticed that not all drivers where good !!!! So is there anybody who can tell more about their findings with GTX560 drivers ???? Like to here! Kind regards !!!!

Hi guys,I remember a couple of years ago someone else having this problem also but can't remember the fix.Everytime the aircraft is finishing loading at an Airport it scoots forward about 15 yards. Does anyone know the fix to prevent this?Cheers - Jim

Did anybody else find a font problem in the J4100 after insalling HF4 in the NGX? Copying the fonts to Windows did not fix the problem.

Hi, I do not post much on the forum but I have been following PMDG for a few years now. I have a question about a new system I am thinking about building. I currently have an i7 980x and I am thinking about upgrading to an i7 2600k. My question is, should I upgrade to the 2600k or do you think that I should wait until the Ivy Bridge CPU's come out and upgrade then? Thanks alot Garrett Dinkins

Hi all Massive PMDG fan hereHave just completed a full flight from cold & dark with the J4100 from Canberra to Port Macquarie in Australia, using ORBX scenery.Never before have I experienced such realism, both from an aircraft procedural point of view, and also great "looking out the window" scenery. Mostly though I want to say a great big thanks to PMDG for the whole product line, and all that they bring to us simmers. EG, because of past experience of the Boeing way of doing things I can start up the NGX within 10 minutes for a complete flight, but the flight above using the JS4100 took me over an hour before I even left the ground.I love the fact that I have to le…

It is out of doubt that the NGX has set a new standard of realism in FSX. However, there is still one thing which is still very far from real world, and it is obviously not a PMDG issue, but I believe it is a limitation inside FSX: I am talking about the relative speed between the aircraft and the clouds......everyone who has been at least once in a liner cockpit knows that when you fly close to a cloud, or you enter a cloud you can really "see" your speed by the relative movement of the clouds. In FSX you don't have this effect....you really move too slow with respect to the clouds.Is there any workaround to change this or is it a limitation that is impossible to fix ?Re…

first sorry for my bad english, not my first language...so, i've a problem to reactivate my product (PMDG BAe JS41) because when try it, a message box inform me thats "...max extra activations exceeded". i've install my product only 2 times...the max extra activations its only one?!??!!? i was obliged to reinstall because i had big problem with FMS (fonts not display) and i had try various fix posted on forum without result...then i had send an email to PMDG support for reactivate my key on last sunday, but today not have any response from them... :(

Hi Gang,I've just upgraded to a new computer system and was excited to try out PMDG's FSX version of the 747. I'm currently experiencing pretty bad intermittent stuttering on the ground from the virtual cockpit, especially during turns. The sim isn't unflyable, but it's irritating enough to take away my enjoyment and send me screaming back to FS9 (frame rate heaven now). :)I have FSX + SP1 + Acceleration + SP2. I manually installed SP1, and I assume that SP2 is installed automatically with Acceleration?
