PMDG General Forum

Dear PMDG, Great news about your up and coming products I noticed watching the videos a slight pause when someone from the conference shouted out about you developing an Airbus and RSR mentioned that after the 747 V2.0 you would develop something we don't expect from PMDG that in most of our minds is an Airbus!! Please could you consider the A380 as there should be a decent couple of A330/340s on the market by this year or early next year however it would be cool if you did, however FSX is missing an A380!!! NLS seems to of gone off the boil. Please consider making an A380!! Kind Regards Duncan

Hi. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on this. My question is, Do I have to activate the IRS and wait for alignment when moving the aircraft from park to gate? I have experienced a few times that the alignment process never ends. One time I switched from freighter to passenger and just started the engine to move from cargo parking to the passenger terminal. I did not start the IRS for it, but later when ready to start up the alignment never settled. I waited for 25-30 mins before giving up. Thanks

  6. I thought I would post this to help anyone else that might be having a similar issue. Anyone that knows me knows I am famous for my long hauls. Recently in a flight in the 747-400 flying from PHNL to TNCM which is about 10.5 hours my computer Froze up when I was near KIAH. So the next day I flew the very same flight and to my surprise it froze up about the same place near KIAH. Originally my thought was there was a problem with the scenery in this area but I could not track it down or find anything amiss. So after that I just flew from PHNL to KORD and made it without any problems. I then flew down to KIAD and then from there over to OMDB. (All in the 747-400). After …

We all know that there are a lot of posts on this topic. Is there a website which would provide SID/STAR for India? FlightAware.com is only for US inbound/outbound flights. The RouteFinder.com website does not give the SID/STAR info. It just gives the data between the SID and the STAR. Does Navigraph.com cover India? I'm able to understand the SID portion of it as I can select each one of them for a runway and see on the ND it's route. But STAR is a problem as we can't see it at the origin airport. We have to program it just before T/D ie., towards the end of the flight. I'm new to PMDG (just a week old) and yesterday I flew from Mumbai to Delhi (VABB -…

Hi Folks,In the last couple of days I have purchased RealATIS FSX as that allows one to build a Volmet broadcast among other things. However when I went to take my JS4100 for a spin as soon as I selected the aircraft I got a crash to desktop, tried the B747-400 and again the same thing happened and finally the MD11, yep, same again. On playing around I took out of the RealATIS folder a file called ATISServer.exe. with that no longer there I was able to select and fly all my PMDG aircraft again. Now I'm not too sure why this happens. RealATIS is a gauge which resides in its own folder in the main gauges folder and you have the install the guage into every aircraft you want to…

Some people who follow the forum may know I'm a Student Naval Aviator, however I have been using PMDG products for close to 7 years (a third of life haha) so I always like to share experiences of how it has effected my flying career because like all of you I am always in pursuit of having it as real as it gets and truly Robert and his team deserve praise for getting us a step closer with every release. That being said, onto my story... I had my 4th and 5th instrument hops of the week on Wednesday so I was working out where to do my instrument hops and more importantly where to get a free lunch (since our trainer gets a solid 300kts over the ground it opens up some opt…

While PMDG make a good product, unfortunately it's not backed up on support end! Everything seems in place and ordered but in fact it is a front for shoddy back-up. Quite frankly i am prepared to pay a premium for a quality product, but would expect the same with the after service. Firstly, after purchasing the product at a PREMIUM price i still have to pay for a re-download because of a burglary of all my computer peripherals. Also the site does not work properly, and it is frustrating to try and add a an item to your cart! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! Also it is such a complicated system. First pay! Then submit a ticket! And then WAIT until they feel t…

Good morning everyone, here is my question: how easy or hard to understand are the manuals for the PMDG aircraft? I am eagerly waiting for the 744 v2.0, and I was wondering whether the manuals are worth a good looking at. I had a chance to go through the Boeing 737 classic manuals that I was given by a friend, and I have to admit they are very thorough but hard to understand. Are the manuals from PMDG a "dumbed down" version of the real ones, or are they exactly the same as the originals? The studying does not worry me, the opposite, but I am just afraid I might get say the 744 manuals, or the MD-11 manuals, and find them hard to read and follow. I am currently a VFR ins…

Hi all, I am chuffing along pretty well with my learning of the 737, all my systems knowledge is goign great but the routes can still get me. For example I was trying to do a flight from YSSY-YBNA which is a smaller airport and I couldn't really get past the departure for 34L. I wanted to get to KAMBA but the only way the FMC said I could get there was to depart from 16L or 07. The approach also got me a bit for YBNA. It was an RNAV approach and whenever I tried to input it I got a route discontinuity in the legs which I dont think is too good. Although I think this is all just a matter of finding the charts, and using it. Also, I was wondering if something like a Tut…

  21. Hi everyone. I had stumbled upon an interesting read on the 747-400, and the impact that current high fuel costs (a third of an airline's typical costs) have had on this model, leading to a 10% discount on used airframes as young as just 10 years old, compared to other aircraft of similar vintage. Be aware, the author makes little mention of the new -8 series, and some commenters sense it's biased towards Airbus, but IMHO it helps explain why Asian carriers are abandoning the 4 engine heavies in favor of twins like the 777 and A330 in an effort to cut fuel costs. http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-06-21/boeings-747-400-a-faded-queen-of-the-skies It's sa…

INCREDIBLE BEAUTY joins Boeing lineup A beautiful addition to the stable of the most-reliable single aisle aircraft on the planet - with the new quieter and more fuel-efficent/lower-NOx2 emmision engine technology and advanced winglet design - I wanted to put my order in right away in hopes PMDG will put this beauty into development as a new product or upgrade to the NGX- wow what an airplane!

I see that Air India Express isn't represented at all by PMDG. They have a fleet of 738's in their inventory. I've installed 19 liveries of their in the FSX default aircrafts. Is it possible to install those on PMDG? OR is PMDG planning to provide them in their livery downloads? Also I would like to have more textures of Spicejet Airlines. Thanx Sanjay D
