Dear PMDG: I know your products currently only support Windows 7, but for those of us looking to upgrade to Windows 8 later this month, will we need to request reactivation of our NGX products? Windows 8 installs over the old operating system and reformats the windows HD, therefore, any embedded aircraft-use permissions on our computers will be lost. Any guidance you can provide us on this issue would be most welcome. Hello, I just got an SSD and am planning on reinstalling fsx and all my addon on there. Will I be able to do this or will I need to buy all my PMDG products again?

Im pretty sure I've seen this topic around before, but im going to post this anyway. Has anyone purchased Accusims Accu-feel and used it with the NGX/MD11/747? As EZCA is an established success with many PMDG flyers, and many report how frustrating it is to setup accurately, would it be possible for PMDG to release a starter profile for each aircraft at release?

Hi there, I have a question regarding the colors on some displays in the NGX cockpit.. I see on many on the screenshots online that the colors on the overhead panel altitude selector display, and the pedestal COM and NAV selector displays are "Rockwell Collins style" (blue backround and white numbers). In my ngx they are Honeywell style (orange backround) and I have not got a clue on how to change this. I believe i've searched through every forum without any luck. (feel free to troll my forum searching skills =) So heres my question, do i really need to "tweak" this myself using the cockpit colors program found here on avsim, or is there any other way to ch…

I'm planning to get a PMDG long hauler because the NGX range is not long enough for longer routes. I was thinking which one? The 777 will come out propably this year (?) and the 747v.2 a few months after. The MD-11 is not my type of plane and i prefer a 747 over a t7. The old 747 is lower priced and has better performance but is older and has lower res textures. Should I wait for the 747v2 and t7 or just get the old 747? Thanks!

I was just curiously wondering: Although the release of the 777, 747-NX, and DC-6 will probnably distract me for much time, I was just wondering several things. First, will the BBJ, ER, and Military variants come any time soon? And for the BBJ, will the airports database include more, non commercial airports?

Sirs (and Ladies) I keep heading back to the PMDG site looking at the MD-11 and 737. I've had the JS4100 for a couple of years and probably have more time on that than everything else in the hanger combined. NGX looks the bees knees from an FSX point of view, and the routes, liveries etc available suit the available time better. But... it just really doesn't do anything for me. Whereas the MD-11, well... noise, power, looks... That it only sold 200, saw limited destinations and is disappearing is of no consequence to me because I'll be flying 'chartered' cargo routes wherever takes my fancy anyway. I really should just get the MD-11, shouldn't I. Thoughts? …

Gday Guys After listening to the engine sounds on the thread GE,RR,and PW by Luke , I was wondering what you gentleman do for sound, and how you have it set up in the computer and is there anyway you can adjust the base ect. I got to say i love the sounds of the prat on the first vid in the thread, it kinder sounded like a really ###### of cat., i do love the way PMDG get the sounds pretty spot on, and its a pity some other devs arnt as paticular, with the engine sounds, Cough ,sorry i was neally going to say who one of the devs was, but i wont. I really dont know anything about the sounds in fsx, so any input would be great . thanks Jeff

LS, I have tried searching around a bit but could not come up with an answer. Unfortunately TNCC's RNAV and approach fixes and procedures are still severely outdated in the current NavData cycles. I am trying to add waypoint manually in wpnavfix and also edit TNCC.txt and add SIDSTAR and approaches. I inserted all user waypoints into the file in the same format and in correct sequence into wpnavfix.txt. But funny enough only one of them show up in the FMC. The 10 to 15 others don't show up. Any idea why this is? P.S. When using the LSH MD-80 FMC it recognises all the user waypoints. And it uses the same file PMDG uses. Regards, Xander

Hi all, I've noticed just lately that the forum here has gone very quiet! Well quiet in the sense that there doesn't seem to be any PMDG staff with any snippets or updates on future projects appearing in here. While I quite understand the problems caused with folks incessantly begging just before the release of the 737NGX, and I'm sure you don't want the same thing to happen just before the release of the 777. I also fully understand the fact that PMDG are probably very busy and won't be persuaded to give any release dates for future projects either, that's not what I'm writing this post for! It's a long old hard wait but it's for the better. i dont know if anyone else had bought the aerosoft airbusX...I did and its nice to look at but its crap. i never use it. and like a year or two later they come back and say here's the extended version with a working fmc. now i gotta pay for it again. That's why i like the way PMDG dose it. pay a price for something spectacular the first time. Thoughts? P.S: I know i know, Aerosoft is wicked awesome and i love their stuff and im sorry for bad mouthing ya but it's just upsetting thats all.

Hello, for some time now Ive been having an issue where specifically the PMDG 747 has very bad and unstable fps in fsx. In game the fps goes from 25 fps then all the way down to 3 then back up to 25 then other low numbers like 5. I set it to unlimited then it goes from 3 to 40 then down to 6, I set it to 10 and it goes from 4 to 9. Some info that I can think of is that I have over 10 payware planes and over 30 payware sceneries. Could this be the case? When Im flying I only have FSX, VAFS5 and FSInn running and that only consumes around 40% CPU and 30% Physical memory. My computer specs are Windows 7 64 professional Intel I7-2600 ` 3.40GHz 12GB DDR3 memory C drive (wher…

Hey fallows, the CTP 2012, is getting really close. i looked for my flight that i have booked, and realized i can't do it with a 737 (due to holding and alternate together) so should i start learning on a bigger aircraft or there's chance the T7 will be here till then?

Dear folks.........After long testing of NGX in the FSx enviroment i feel that controling it via using the 2d views gives the pilot more accurate and comfortable handling like the real one due to the fact that the PFD and ND is crystal clear and have a large size that any simple movement can be noticed by the pilot and adjusted instantly unlike 3d virtual cockpit experience that the pilot( due to FSX enviroment and space limitation) can loss of accurate control of aircraft and visualization of the primary displays because they are far from his head position and shown as small boxes have alot of data.......Summary: Although 3d cockpit of any FSX aircraft give the experienc…

As I'm planning a quick flight to be flown on the 737NGX, I remembered I would need Checklist, I would also like to have the Tutorial since it's been months since I've flown the plane. I will probably have to upload the .PDFs to some service like Dropbox, and open it in my iPad. Opening it is easy, but navigating between the two won't be nice. SO I had the idea. Hi guys, I'm getting quite close to starting my first build (Few months). Anyway, I've gathered a parts list of everything I think would make for a great rig overall. My question to you is whether everything is compatible, if I will have sufficient cords/plugs, and if I will need to purchase anything else. I plan on doing minimal overclocking, so a Coolermaster addition will have to wait until further down the road. My other question is how well would this combination work with FSX, the NGX, 777 (can't wait :rolleyes:), REX Essentials, and minimal airport scenery addons. Hi guys, As it is over a year since the NGX release, I was wondering if the PMDG team could inform us, of any Flight simulator developments that we will see between the NGX AND 777. For examplel 1) has more focus been driven to exterior textures [higher quality]. 2) Better refresh times [flight surface deployments] 3) Better performance in the VC? I thought the sunlight dashing off the displays was breath taking, is there any new simulator enhancements that you have put into the 777 that is not currently in the NGX? Alex
