Please sign your name on this forum, thanks! Yes, you need more ram. I would ask anyone running who desires a stutter free FS to have 512 or MORE megs. Textuers need a lot of memory and if people think this has no effects on FPS, just turn on many other programs with FS running and see frame rates fall very low. I have good frame rates but my little 256 megs is killing me. I had 512 but burned a stick, I use to be able to zoom around smooth in spot view but now it sutters. Your card is great so you should be fine in that department. If you can, replace the default cloud textuers with the ones in the Library, they really help when clouds are present.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J…

Is there a place on the display panel where it indicates the outside air temperature. I knew where it was on the 757 - I can't seem to find it in the 737.ThanksChris Catalano

The PFD shows flap maneuvering (Vman) speeds at both takeoff and landing modes. I'm confused as to what the 'UP' maneuvering speed is displayed for though. For instance, at takeoff flap setting of 5, the PFD displays Vman 5, Vman 1, and the 'UP' speeds. Do I retract from flaps 5 to flaps 1 at Vman 5, then go flaps 1 to flaps 0 at Vman 1? If so, what does the UP maneuvering speed indicate in terms of pilot information? Conversely, on approach, do I lower flaps at the correpsonding Vman speeds, i.e. 1, 5 , 10, 15, ect? Again, I can't figure out what exactly the UP speed reference signifies if I understand the flaps schedules display.Thank you.

Before anyone jumps to a conclusion, I think the 737 is a great plane and my problem is more than likely my fault and can be fixed. Here goes:I have both CH Pro Pedals and yoke. When flying in fs9 with FSUIPC registered, turning and all my flight controls feel like im flying a cessna. Everything seems way to sensitive and "not heavy" at all. When using rudder, the plane yaw's very quickly, much unlike a real 737. I know there is probably no way to make it feel like the real thing, but im sure there are settings to make it feel more like a jet than a prop. Any suggestions? What should I be doing in FSUIPC or the sensitivity settings to make it more realistic? Thanks

Hi all,I just completed a flight from KLAX to KSAN in the 737. Weather at KSAN (reported by Activesky wxRE) was wind 349/30 and 1/8 mile vis. Rwy 27 was reported in use however the ILS only showed a LOC and no G/S (I don't fly in the US much so not sure if this is the case at KSAN). Time to break the rules and go for a full autoland on 09 :-) This PMDG 737 pegged the ILS and G/S all the way to a perfect landing despite the near 30 kt crosswind. That's what I call impressive! Anybody else had a similar experience? RegardsJCPS Are there any San Diegans (?) out there who can confirm the weather reported by Activesky for 25 Ocober??

Hi Guys,As I sit here lamenting the demise of one of my favourite aircraft, the Boeing Super 27, I found some picture of me flying her G-OPMN.I know she isn't a 737NG, but the fuselage is the same. Would it be possible for some genius/kind soul to convert the livery onto a 737NG.Here are a couple of URLs of me Landing at Lasham and at Newcastle & I would love to fly that livery again.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/218886/M/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/262969/M/If the NGs Nacelles were painted red it could be done I think. Thanks again.

Hi All, I was just dreaming along looking at pictures of NG cockpits at airliners.net. I stumbled on the picture given in the link below and noticed something that caused the following question: How many radios does the NG have? It can be seen from the ND that VOR2 is not tuned or at least not receiving anything at the time of the picture. VOR1 has been tuned by the FMC (or rather, I assume that is what the FMC indication means). On the PFD, another frequency to a station is displayed along with a DME indication that does not match the one displayed on VOR1. Can any of you pros out there explain that? With thanks in advanceBoazhttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/387764/L/

Hi Mike- Soft constraints (at or above or below) are not implemented as of yet. So skip those alt constraints for now.- The click spot in the center of the barometer adjustment knob is actually where you change from current ALT or QNH to STD barometric pressure or 29,92 inHg or 1013 hPa. Above transition altitude (in US 18000, in Europe somwhere around 5-7000) you will get a yellow box if you don't have STD set, if below trans alt you will get a yellow box if you dont have current ALT or QNH set. Scrap tooltips!!! It's for pussies!- You can't get current ALT or QNH if your not given it from ATC or some ATIS. Hope it helps, :-beerchug

Hello,Made an IFR flight plan following high altitude airways at FL270.I loaded the flight plan into the FMC.After take-off, ATC gently directed me away from my first VOR, although this VOR was not too close to the departure airport. If I then selected LNAV, the airplane would make a 180 degree turn to get back to the missed VOR. Then ATC yell at me to follow their direction again. I then tried to hit the following Intersection, but it didn't help, and ATC again put me on the direct line to the destination airport, not following any airways. What can I do if I miss the first waypoint and I cannot get on the planned FMC route?Kind regards,Nico

I"m looking in the Advanced Flight Tutorial 1.01 by Timothy Metzinger.Page 44 Figure 29 Look at the panel in Figure 29.There is two guages next to the right of the test blocks on this panel. One looks like a "aircraft view", the other is very small and may be a "clock".These guages/views are not on panels. Is this a special addon byTimothy Metzinger? Nothing referenced to the ops manuals.Popi

While visual I usualy prefer to use the FPV for better ffedback during an approach. In PMDG's 737NG with SU1.1 the kind of information provided by the FPV is not reliable, particularly when the aircraft is banked.Sometimes I am turning while maintaining my altitude (VS=0fpm) and the FPV stands way bellow the horizon, indicating that I am descending!!!If I rely solely the FPV, and completely forget about checking the VS scale I, most of the time, end up crashing!!!!Fix would be great for SU2!!!

Here are some problems that I need to get ironed out, and am sure they can with all the intelligent people here:1) Bought a new video card and installed it. Went from the default 64 MB in my Dell 8520 to an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB. I see absolutely no difference. In fact, my frame rates dropped and the plane studders and "hiccups" even more. I have 256 MB RDRAM, and will have another 512 coming next week. Will that fix it? What settings should i have my video card on and how should i do it?2) The PMDG 737's and the planes that I have tried are extremely hard to control while taxiing. as soon as I try to accelerate, the plane wantes to turn. I have to fight lik…

I bought the package a couple of days ago and decided to try it out straight away and found the followingproblems:Did a short flight with no FMC,just AT, AP, HDG, ALT, & VSWhile climbing to cruising alt no problems. Howeverplane was unable to follow the HDG and kept drifting somedegrees from the chosen course. Upon descent I was unable toreduce the speed of the aircraft no matter what. I triedflaps, spoilers, the lot! couldn't get it to slow down below280 kts. Likewise tried to turn throtles to idle, but ACjust did not respond and I was unable to get AC on ground, eventually sort of crashed but AC kept going. Couldn't evenget it to stop after pressing reverse thrust.Al…

(FS9) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44391.jpgThe main panel of the VCWe've added a lot here! Now fully functional and clickable (FS9) are:The entire MCP and EFIS, the N1 Selector knob, the Speed Ref Selector knob, Test panel, Flaps Transit Indicator Light, Flaps Extend Indicator Light, Flaps …
