Hello, I've just purchased the 737 and had a couple of questions about the 2D cockpit windows. Can the FMS CDU window be dynamically resized and/or undocked to display on a second monitor/video card setup? Also, would it be possible in theory to do some tweaking in the panel.cfg file and enlarge the MCP? I'm having a lot of difficultyreading it properly on my 19 inch monitor, even at high resolutions (I don't exactly have fighter pilot eyes :( ).Thank you.

Hello everyone!I bought PMDG's 737 and I'm very happy with it. But there is one thing I would like to change if possible - I would like to have the photorealistic 2D cockpit views together with the virtual cabin and the possibility to have wing-views. Does someone know if this is possible? The way it is now, I have to choose between a model with virtual cockpit/cabin and the possibility to have wing-views defined or a 2D model only where I have the nice looking photorealistic 2D views in the cockpit I want but instead no virtual cabin and wing-views.I find it very cool to be able to be a passenger back in the cabin looking out of the windows or using the wing-views I have …

Hello to all,This morning i was making some experiments about starting the plane from a cold&dark cockpit situation.I discovered that i was able to startup engines in spit of all fuel pumps were OFF.I have tried to search the forum for previous messages about this topic, but i found nothing.I wonder wether SU2 will fix this issue.Best Regards.Nicola Fiorillo

I have it narrowed down to two Video Cards that I am going to get. I can get either the GeForce FX 5600 256MB DDR AGP 8X w/ TVO & DVI for $130 or the ATI Radeon 9600 256mb DVI+CRT+TVout support 4-pipeline programmable for $120. There are ones with 128MB for ten bucks cheaper. Is my logic of 256mb will work better than 128mb in FS9 legitimate? Please fill me in. I want the best performance with my PMDG and FS9. Im also not that computer literate! thanks

Hi!The PMDG homepage states that you need Active Camera 2002 to get full functionality on the virtual parts of the 737. The AC2002 install file however states that it is intended for FS2002 ONLY. Since i run FS9 do i have to buy the AC2004 for $15 or will the 2002 version function? Thanks for another great product! (I have them all :))/Andreas

Hello!I tried the Level change descent and observed a very high sink rate. LNAV was engaged. The online controller told me that he had the feeling my plane "sinks like a stone".What do you mean? Is the "automatic" sink rate of the 737 NG correct? I have the feeling that this plane has a sink rate which is too high.TomBerlin, Germany

Just had a real-world direct flight from KBWI-KLAS on Southwest Airlines 737-700. We were packed near full house for the trip. The flying time was right at 4hrs 55min. With that time, I was (and have been) interested in what SWA uses for cruise in the 700.The pilot stated that SWA cruises the 700 between .77 and .79 mach. Not bad, but nearly 5hrs to get to LAS seemed REALLY long. Guess we had some winds!Just passing along a little FYI!Aaron

hii just installed FS9 besides my FS2002 to begin moving to FS9.now i ecountered a problem, which is very strange.my PMDG installetion in FS 2002 was succefully registred and the code, as choosen by the installation of the product, left in a separate folder.now i installed the product onto FS9, but unfortunately, when i try to start it, it says invalid product ID. i press, several times OK and the aircraft launches, however i cannot register the product over the usual menu, "invalid product ID" appears.i close FS9 and startup FS2002, i launch the aicraft, no problem.so what's wrong? how can i have the 737 working in FS9 and FS2002?there is only one key folder!!??thx for h…

On a FMC autoland at LFBO Runway 15L (did not exist in my FMC database - was listed as Runway 14L), the airplane was performing its flare when suddenly I adrift away from the runway towards left. What could be the reason for this, and how do I avoid it?See attached pictures for reference.Nicohttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43139.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/43140.jpg

hi1. the stairs "up - down" buttons are the same as for the nose up - down action on the concorde. check your key settings, and assign one key of your chioce to "full up" and one to "full down". should finally get you some passengers aboard! :-)2. to move through the cabin, you need "active camera", an add on to download from several FS related sites. i don't kanow the official HP right now. after that, you can walk around the cabin using your keypad numbers...hope this helps, i'm not to sure with the virtual cabin, 'cause i never use it...greets,stu

hibe sure, i have searched the forum for this, but haven't found a topic for it.i have two questions regarding the GPWS on the 737NG:1. is it correct that i get an "glideslope" warning even when i'm ABOVE g/s?2. it's pretty confusing to get an "caution, terrain" callout below 2500 feet with landing gear still up, because i observed RL pilots to retract the gear much later.i know, there is no "GPWS override switch" or so, i don't know if the 737 -600-700s have one in the real world, but i've seen G/S- and flap-warning "deactivate-switches" on the 737-300 and 767. right?thanks for any replies, stuPS: what are runway-turnoff lights for? seriously, i don't have a clue...

Here is what I am using....Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.40GHz 256 MB RAM64MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 with TV Out (Dell 8250)I love the PMDG 737. I also love FS9. Obviously I want to use both in conjunction. I understand I need to upgrade my PC. From what I understand i need about 128 more MB for my video card and up to 512 RAM. Before I buy these, i want to know if the PMDG 737 will run well in FS9. Right now with my normal settings, I get less than 10 fps for airports like KMDW. I am not maxed all the way on the sliders either. It takes a very long time to load the plane, and once I do, there is always a pause when switching views. When I roll down the rwy, i'll get…

Hi,Is there some way you can change so you get the photorealistic 2D cockpit views also in a model with virtual cockpit/cabin rather than the default ones which I think look very "cartoonish"?Or put short - I want both the photoreal 2D views and the virtual cabin :-)TIA,Richard

I have spent a lot of time with Timothy's FMC tutorial, and it has been a great help. However, I have problems with landing the PMDG Boeing 737NG.I intercept the ILS at 180 KIAS flaps 5, and the descent to the runway goes fine and nicely. But as I am very near to landing, I get "Caution Terrain", "Too Low Flaps" and "Don't Sink". After this, the airplane suddenly climbs like crazy and flies away from the airport at high altitude. Sometimes the airplane also climbs and descends strongly at the last part of the ILS, and then finally climbs very steeply just before landing and flies away from the airport.I have been reading the Approach part of the tutorial closely, and I tho…

I am in the process of going from a crappy 64 MB video card to something else. I want at least 128 MB. What is the difference between GE Force and Radeon?? I have seen 256 MB Ge Force 5600 FX for about the same ($125)as 128 MB Ultra Ge Force 5600 FX. What are some good ones within the price range? Is there a reason why one has more MB's and is about the same price as the one with less? Any input would be great@!

Here is my problem. I fly online all the time. I love it....but everyone knows that from time to time your flight does not have ATC at the airport when you are landing. It either never did, or the controller signed off mid-flight. Here is where I run into problems. Im using the PMDG 737 with the STAR programmed into the FMC. From the last point on the STAR, how do I vector myself to the right point of the runway I am landing at. Do I need some sort of DME arc? I dont know how to do these. I figure if I knew how to do these, it would save me some agony of a long good flight then a landing without the proper procedures. Are there any good tutorials or web pages th…
