Hi Folks! After many hours of flying this wonderful aircraft, and having read the manuals, I HAVE learned a few things that I thought I would share with you.1) The FMC does not stand for "Ford Motor Company"2) By pressing the LNAV button, you do NOT win a Lincoln Navigator.3) The AT button does NOT mean "automatic transmission".4) The EFIS panel does NOT mean "electronic fuel injection system".5) Flipping the FD switch does NOT summon the Fire Department.6) And lastly, pressing the CWS button does NOT tune in a "Country Western Station" on the radio.........who said this thing was difficult :+ :+ :+ "Flying is hours of boredom in between a few moments of pure ter…

With SU2 rounding the bend I thought it would be nice if I started a post with some common questions on NG operations-behaviors etc. Anyone with knowledge and feel like chiming in please feel free to add here, i'll start.QUESTION: What MODES are engaged when you engage the Autopilot (CMD button) in takeoff mode (TOGA is pushed) if no modes were armed on the takeoff? ANSWER: If you engage an autopilot while in takeoff mode, LVL CH is automatically engage for pitch. Hi folks, what sort of download size are we talking about here?, SU2 seems to be a complete rebuild almost? I hate dial-up heheI had the most pleasing flight today from Gatwick to Malta in the 737, I can't believe its gonna get better! - However I did notice at one point that when in the VC and I opened up the FMC, the PFD stoped updating! anyhow, i'm going to bed now, hoping its not to long before SU2Cheers

Do the FMC calculate OPT/MAX cruicelevel in SU2?this is a function most of the "other" addons with fmc does very well. I hope this is included in SU2, after all, PMDG NG is the most expensive B737 addon ever published.Jan Roar R

To anyone who knows:Just a few quick questions, -first has Microsoft released any kind of updates or patches for FS 2004? -Second, what are some essential files to have for FS 2004 that you would recommend? -And finally, I just bought PMDG 737NG and I was wondering how to work the FMC, I would type in an airport identifier and then click on the the departure LSK (during fmc init) like KSTL and it would say "not in database". Hi all.When i program a flightplan with SID and after take off fly the aircraf manually to a certain point in the departure, i cannot engage VNAV, get a message om the FMC reset MCP altitude.This alt. was set to cruise altitude.What am I doing wrong?

Dear PMDG,Please don't release the SU2 patch, if you do I'll have nothing left to look forward to ;-). At the moment it's like waiting for a Xmas, but a Xmas day with no set date... (is it tomorrow? next week?) I think waiting for something is always more exciting that when you get it. I am running a relatively slow and low end pc in today's standard; AMD Athlon 1600 xp with 512MB DDR ram and 64MB Geforce 2 Ti card. Do you think I can enjoy FS9 and PMDG 737NG with my current system? I am realistic and won't expect running the sim with all the sliders put to max and I can live with not having all the eye candy that FS9 offers. My bottom line is running FS9 and 737NG with reasonable frame rate. I know upgrading my pc will not harm but I don't want to do this yet. Any feedback will be very much appriciated.ThanksWayne Chan

HiWhen you came up with the bugfix list for SU2 I asked Randy if the altitude constraint feature will be included. His answer was no. I had a look at the list again and something is not clear for me. I know it might sound offensive but please don't get me wrong:What is the real reason for PMDG not to include this feature in the "final" update for the 600/700? There are so many new things added which are nice but the plane would also fly without it. For those who use the FMC often it is important to use the "basic" features of it. I mean that things which are often used in real live flying should be available in a functional FMC. and the altitude constraints are indeed use…

It happend to me twice today with the 737NG 2d panel; Engaged the VOR/LOC mode aligned with the runway, and when the GS became alive armed the APP. mode. All this with Auto throttle in SPEED mode. At first all was nice and the plane followed the GS nicely. Suddenly Auto Throttle jumped to N1 mode and the plane lost the GS tracking, adding power and actually climbing up and APP mode jumped back to LOC mod only.This is quite strange as I already did autoland perfectly and I am puzzled at this.Anybody has an idea?ThanksBK

On the fuel calculation chart on page 9 (or page 13 - I am at work now & doing this from memory!), I see all the numbers to calculate fuel consumption - however - (as in the old 757 & 777 from PMDG), there is no "fuel adjustment" part of the chart. How do I know what the fuel adjustment per hour is for carrying X pulnds of fuel over the landing weight? It used to be at the bottom of the charts for the 777 & 757. In short - if my aircraft weighs 10,000 lbs more (above my landing weight) because of the extra fuel I am carrying for 3 hours at FL330, there is supposed to be an adjustment I am to make in calculating fuel consumption based on the extra weight I …

does anyone know whether the su-2 will allow us to see the traffic on the nav display like with the pss products? i certainly hope so seing that i used to use the 737 classic pack from flight1 and it showed traffic.regardslyle

I just installed the 737 and have been pulling my hair out trying to get the autopilot engaged after takeoff and reaching above 400ft or more. I am clicking on the engage button and nothing happens...no indicator lights, nothing. I do have the latest patch installed also. I am using FS9.

Go check out the PSS forums and you will quickly understand why PMDG is taking time to release the SU2. My post is to simply state that since I purchased the 737 I've flown almost 50 hours in this bird and have loved every minute of it. One Happy Customer,Tony

Dear All:Was just wondering - in the 757 that PMDG put out for FLY2, there used to be a fuel planning schematic in the manual. I looked in all the manuals for the 737 & can't seem to find one. HelloI have been using 737NG for a couple of weeks now and only recently have noticed quite strange thing ( at least to me ):When uploading FSBuild - made flightplans sometimes it looks like a part of FMC own database is lost, as it no longer recognizes some of airport runways and SID/STAR's and all this results in 'Program Eroor' message on the FMC.One example ( there are more avaialable ):Everything works fine if I load flightplan for EDDF rwy 25R - LFPG rwy 26L, but if I load another one for rwy 7L and 8L respectively, there aren't any runways ( "not in database" message when trying to enter them manualy ) & DEP/ARR procedures recognized by the FMC - and than this …

I am trying to find the BEST and most REALISTIC, addon for MSFS 2002/2004. The main thing I really want is a full working overhead panel, FMC(FMGC). I was looking at PSS, Wilco, and PMDG. So All of you who own the 737 TNG, how good is it? I have been trying to find reviews on it but I have not found any as of yet. Any of your Oppinions will help.Thanks, David

After flying the KDTW flyin, I found that the only pattern is only "do one round then exit". Will SU2 include an option to remain on hold until clicking to exit?

oK This problem ive seemed to have for ages now. I was departing from Gatwick north to EGPF gLASGOW AND when I wanted to add a SID to RWy 26L their were none avaliable. However if I use FSBUILD Im able to create a full flight with FULL sids a stars made available to me. However was Build HAS SAVED THIS PLAN IF i GET INTO fs2004 and the ATC RESTRICTIONS DECIDE TO SEND ME ANOTHER WAY THERE IS NOW WAY i CAN CHANGE this SID that I have created in FSBUILD because under EGKK and RWY 26L there are NONE avaliable to use :( :( :(ANY ideas would be greatly appreciatedJuan Garcia-Mendez

Until SU2 is released, is there a workaround or advice to deal with the engine failure once the center tank goes dry? Was flying tonite, online, and right as I'm on approach, center tank goes dry and engines fail. Luckily, or maybe not, my computer froze at the same time, and I was disconnected, but how should I handle this situation?Should I just fly with Full center tanks? and not fill the wing tanks?Thanks,Joe G.
