I am finally getting comfortable with the 737NG and the FMC after the last two weeks. Thanks to the tutorials that Tim and Fred put together. However I have a few problems that I can't seem to figure out.1. When enroute and climbing I sometimes get a message on the FMC that says "CHECK MCP ALTITUDE". If for example the top of the climb and cruise is set for FL350 do I also have to put that altitude in the MCP Alt box?2. When I am cruising at say FL350 and getting within 100 or 150 miles the VNAV never seems to take over and begin a descent. I always have to do it manually. I thought the FCM would follow the forecast altitudes? Do I have to do something in the MCP Alt box …

I usually get around 25FPS with most aircraft in FS2004.When I'm in VC mode wiht the PMDG 737 I drop down to around 15.I of course expect this and ofr the most part it's WORTH it to see that awsome flight deck and cabin! Can anyone reccomnd some known settings though that are a good comprimise between great view and good frame rates specifically for the PMDG '37?Thanks!Gavinhttp://www.interprom.com/gav

http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60599.jpgI'm reasonably confident that I'll have this wrapped up by tomorrow night, so I'm looking for ten (10) additional beta testers. If you'd like to help, please send me a note at [email protected], and give me the following information:Your nameYour country/nationYour ability to read englishDepth of your experience with MS Flight Sim (where 1 is you just got it, and 10 is you remember when it fit on a floppy).Depth of your experience with the PMDG 737 (where 1 is you just got it, and 10 is you've got more than 100 actual hours flying it).I'm going to try and pick a good cross sample no later than noon tomorrow, and those I chose …

Dear PMDG The FS9 Lockup /Crash Problem is well known problem. As the solution you state that you have to remove the FS9.cfg file and the state.cfg files. However this removes also all your settings and assigned buttons.Replacing the copied FS9.cfg file does not work. I found out that after deleting the mentioned files and after starting FS9 you can close FS9, than replace the FS9.cfg file you did copy after changing the settings and assignments. After that FS9 start up as before. It cost me more time to make the 737NG ready for flying than flying itself!I installed FS9 on a second HD with its own XP PRO. Only with related programs. Fully defragmentated. No automatic virus-…

HelloI would just like to know if you virtual pilots are trying to land in the extreme conditions when flying or always using real weather? And if yes, what are wind settings that you were able to land with and what were your crash tresholds (what kind of wind, how strong etc...)?Because, I just tried (only) one setting, 45 knots sidewind (a bit from the front, but mainly right side) and gusts to 80 knots. Extreme turbulence, moderate icing, -40 degrees C, heavy rain. I managed to get the a/c more or less down the glideslope, but because the speed was unable to maintain (autothrottle), at least not at 40 flaps calculated Vapp, I set Vapp to 15 flaps, but still a/c tended …

I'm almost finished with a repaint for the 700 in Blue Panorama livery but there's a problem I can't solve. For some reason unknown to me applying the texture to the model gives this horrible result in the tail area:http://digilander.libero.it/cortmovies/Image9.jpgThe texture was saved with DXTBmp in 32 bit mode, no mips included. Can someone please point me a solution? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey all,Due to the cold weather about these parts in Maryland I became curious about icing. Normally, I just followed the 10 degree/visible moisture rule, and discontinued anti-icing at 400 TAT.Vaguely heard something about that.... My airline SOP, not known to be correct :)Previously I've tried to turn my 737 into an ice cube, but nothing ever happened. So I decided to go all out!Anyway, I intentionally turned off all the anti-ice stuff, -1 C Temp -1 C dew point, moderate rain, icing = severe. I let the plane sit in the rain for a while.Nothing noticable happened, however, until shortly after takeoff I got a sudden pitch up to like 25 degrees! Not normal for me at al…

This is an information for those who downloaded one of these liveries.Since I had saved the textures in the first version in the wrong format, I've corrected the repaints and uploaded them again as version 2.GreetingsThomashttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60560.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60561.jpg

Dear PMDG,Can you guys please do the trick with the 3-d wings showing in the 2-d cockpit like it has been done in the 737?Would be great!Waiting in anticipation.Haromo

Hi,Out of curiosity.Do NGs have this? I know 737-300/400/500 Do. It's a Yellowish pitch limit indicator displayed when flaps are not up. It indicates when the stick shaker activation will kick out for the existing flight condition. Not to exed unless you want to stall ;)...Thanks!Bruno Francescoli.

Hi PMDG, I was wondering, actually more hoping, that toghether with other implementations you've mentioned before in other posts for the SU3 release, if it would be possible to make the 737ng's FMC compatible with a missed approach and alternate route procedures. It would be nice to have the FMC revert to clb mode when the toga button is pressed for either a go-around or a missed approach procedure. Thanks,David

Despite its shortcomings, I do often use FS9's ATC with my flights. After departure, as long as you keep to the planned route they leave you alone, and only vector you off that plan at the end (sometimes a bit early!) to align you with the final approach fix.I tend to use HDG mode until vectored by ATC onto the route and then LNAV until the vectors for arrival are issued at the other end. For this I tend to go back to HDG and LVL CHG. The problem comes with the fact that FS9's ATC only tends to ask you descend, climb and turn 'in the open' ie with no regard to any waypoints or reporting points. Which kind of precludes use of the FMC from the descent point, doesn't it? Or …

Hi to the big community, I was trying a few missed approaches today and found out I don't know the correct procedure to follow once I'm at 200 feet or more from treshold and decide to call for a missed approach. This is what I did:-Before decision height I inserted 4000 in the mcp which was my altitude restriction for a hold on the last missed approach waypoint-At 200 feet or more I engaged TOGA thrust and the response from the airplane was very nice._Then I thought the best thing to do was to engage vnav, then lnav and let the autopilot take care of the rest by giuding me to the hold. Now, when I engaged vnav a message in the fmc popped out telling me to check mcp altitude…

I have been a passenger on the NG a lot lately, and the takeoff pitch of the engines is a very loud "fanny" sound, not the oooooooooo sound that is produced with this soundset. Should the high pitch whine on this soundset be more "fanny"?Peter

May we please have an upgraded cockpit lighting for the panels?Something like what capt sim has done where the lights have three stages....It looks really nice when the panel lights are off and the nobs and switches are lighted only...Perhaps others feel the same way..If anyone else agrees please post here! Thanks!!

Hello All !This product did change completely my way of flying in FS2004. In fact, now i'm only using the 737 and... a beech 350 for VFR purposes.I come to the fact now, as mentionned by several users, i did lately had the already reported bug of the radio panel. It was impossible to change NAV frequencies, or VHF and ADF frequencies. The transponder was working properly. One of the post made gave me a clue, saying that was the matter of having used in a previous flight a plane with an avionic switch. So here's the deal, to restore a working situation from the bug, i did this :-Take the cold and dark flight save delivered with the plane-Declare it as your default-Quit and r…

Anyone out there using the PFC equipment in any form that has their quadrant? If so what do you plan on doing to make the 1900D turbo prop throttle operate like it is suppoosed to? I have the jet liner console and it does NOT support their turbo prop quad. I did some playing around with the 2 engine prop quadrant and it "works" but no detents and the prop and condition levers are really too short. Another question is does anyone have their turbo prop quadrant and a digital camera?? If so could I impose on you to email me a close up picture of the inside of the quadrant.. I had PFC rebuild the 2 engine prop quad for me and maybe I can do the same thing with the turbo…
