Hi,1st of all, I'm sorry if my post is not on the correct Forum, I know this is for PMDG support only, but in fact I only care for the PMDG NG, and that's what drives me to upgrade my hardware Ok, I'll be in ORD for 1 week, close to a Compusa store and I'm planning to buy a new videocard. I decided for ATI and ended up with 2 choices and need your help in deciding (if you guys could):1- All in Wonder 9800 Pro 128MB AGP 8X2- Radeon X800 Pro 256MB AGP 8XThey cost the same (about $400 + Tax - top of my budget) and I'm in doubt about the memory size. I'm not sure if something was changed in the temp patch, but I managed to land the 900 (my first flight with it) without a bounce or double roll sound! Pretty neat bird. Sure looks funny after flying the 600 and 700 for so long, lol. Chris

Hi,What exactly is the right procedure for the APU during startup? I noticed that when starting up with a "warm & lit" cockpit the APU switch is in it's 'OFF' position when the engines are already running on the ground but when starting from a "cold & dark cockpit" and going through all the startup procedures yourself to fire up the engines (have followed Timothy Metzinger's tutorial) the APU is left in it's 'ON' position until you're already in the air and then it's switched off and that works fine. If I try to turn it 'OFF' before that while still on the ground all different kinds of warninglights illuminate on the overhead panel.Thanks in advance for any info o…

So here I am, on final into KABQ from KPHX in the 600 and all of the sudden I get this traffic warning. I love the TCAS system by the way. Anyhow, I look and this clown is coming up behind and below within the traffic ring. I was really doing pretty good with the hand flown approach and was lining up the ILS markers (reference for me when flying manual). I decided to turn traffic off so I could land and not G/A. I hate that when AI just comes out of nowhere.QUESTION: When is traffic supposed to show on the display? I have it set for real life op, as you guys said they can't see regular traffic. I would like to apologise if this had mentioned before.Yesterday doing the first flight with the 800 I come across the following situation. I was approaching UUEE for landing at rnw 07R. Acordign my charts I have a 066 CRS for the ILS on that rnw. But when the ILS become active I got a RNW/CRS message at the FMC. Hey all. I have a problem with your autopilot. It to complicate for me an no licens pilot. Foreksample i'm cruising at 20.000 FT, and suddenly it is droping down and i have not touch the autopilot. I now im not and expert i the b737. So is there not and manual that is just about the autopilot. I have looked i that manual that is with the plane when you are byeing it. And i have tryed it, byt it was to no help( i fink ). I hope you can help mee. Because i dont wont to use another panel, if dont can use that autopilot.Morten Starck

G'Day everyoneFor the last two days, I havent been able to engage VNAV on the autopilot. I have no idea why as nothing has changed from the way I used to program the flights.Once airborne and about 1000ft, I engage autopilot, LNAV and VNAV. I get the bell ringing thing and a message on the FMC saying "UNABLE NEXT ALT", "VNAV Disconnect". Does anyone know how I can find out which airlines have which variants of the CFM? Also, is there a variant that has 28K with PMDG? I've found the 22K, 24K, and 26K. I would like to try a 28K variant of the 737-800.Brooks

I just wanted to say, thanks a ton for these tutorials on the PMDG 737. I entered the cockpit right after buying it and started scratching my head. I pressed a button in the FMC and it gave me a "invalid information" error. I was just about to walk off, mumbling curse words under my breath.Then I found your tutorial and it really helped heaps. On the second day of training I was nearly crying that I had entered a waypoint! Just wanted to say thanks a bunch, and keep up the incredable work :)

I saw and downloaded a file today which is supposed to provide "wing views" of the PMDG 737 series. Upon following installation instructions of pasting the provided lines into the panel cfg., I see nothing changes. Is anyone familiar with this installation and does it work? Is it necessary to remove or alter any of the existing lines under "views" in the panel cfg file? Can anyone tell me if I am missing something here that causes this thing not to work? Thanks.

Hello, can you tell me what numbers you found to best represent the green letters/numbers instead of the white ones in the FMC. I've tried a few greens, but they don't look right.Thanks,Chris

I was fumbling along the advanced tutoril when upon page 43 I attempted to save as instructed and no go. On the FMCs display a line item on the ACT RTE page "DATALINK" under that "NO COMM" What is up with that?Jimmy Jahns

After I installed the patch for 800/900, when I click the button on the overhead panel, I found that there are some button will not have sound. Like "click"(Fasten Seat Belt, No smoking...etc) and "pop"(Eng Gen). But some of them have........So strange. Before I installed the patch, all the sounds are normal....Am I set sth wrong??

I have a P4 1.6 GHz and GF 4 TI 4200. My fps are from 8-14 and I have long loading times, often also when I shift from cockp. to spot.Will a GF FX 5950 ULTRA help or maybe 6800 GT.Ole

Hello PMDG.I have the boxed version of the 736/737 and also the download 738/739 installed.I've just been for my first flights, the tutorial flight in the 736, over and over, as I can never finish the flight. The problem occurs in the descent. CMD A, Vnav & Lnav are flying ship. As the aircraft approaches the ToD I set the alt to 3000ft on the MCP so that the FMC calculated descent path is followed. As I pass ToD we begin to descend, but after only 1000ft of descent the sim hangs for a couple of seconds, and then a CTD occurs. No warnings are given, no messages received. This happens over and over again, always after descending 1000ft. I have tried descending f…

Hi Pilots!Anybody here with the same problem, or any solution?The TO/GA Switch on the Control Stand has no function. The MS default setting is something like Ctrl+Shift+S or something. I put in on a key on my X45.The Nav Setting is done, the FMC is programmed complete and correctly, V speeds are programmed (why do I have to type them manually into the FMC?) A/T is armed, FD in Master. Pushing the TO/GA Button, nothing happens. Normally, the Autothrottle should set the reduced T/O Thrust and the Flight Director bars should come alive. Hi Colleagues,I've scanned the manual and, may have missed it but, can't find out how to programme a waypoint or VOR over fly.To clarify. All the routes I have entered always commence a turn before reaching any specific waypoint. What I want to do is overfly a waypoint and then turn.regards.
