Anyone noticed a performance difference after installing XP Service Pack? I installed it this morning and the first thing I noticed is when I ran FS Autostart, I had lost some available memory compared to before the pack, like about 100 Megs worth. The next thing I noticed is that the sim was stuttering as I taxied. I uninstalled it and everything back to normal. ( thank God there was an Uninstall with it).I guess I will rely on my AntiVirus and Norton Firewall to keep my system from getting hijacked.

I've just installed XP Pro and of course had to re-install FS2004. As many of you are aware XP SP2 is a lot more fussy about Privacy & Security. I'm using Wideserver/WideS Client software with ActiveSky WX and Garmin 530 on the client, and the main prog on the server PC. The problem is this: I have to share my C: folder in order to map my flight plans. XP won't let me just share the My documentsFS9 files, where FS2004 saves its flight plans because the share must be assigned at the top of the drive folder list. Also, FSBuild is involved because it must write its flight plan to the FS9 folder on the server. How do you XP vets get around this pathing issue on 2 ne…

I have the 737NG 800/900 and find the spoilers don't deploy even after doing all of the fixes. I arm and land normally and nothing. Is anyone else still having this problem?

Everyonce in awhile I have a problem getting the ILS Frequencies when on approach, from the FMC. I don't mind that much anymore cause I have FS Nav and can look them up there, but it really should come up on FMC? I find sometimes I have to get within 10-15 miles of the airport before it pops up in the FMC as happened to me in ATL last night on 8L, and today I landed at JFK runway 13L and it never came up, even after I landed. I have latest Airac files loaded. Kind of a pain, if you don't have a data base of ILS freqs.

Robert, would you be able some time to give us some randomised splashscreens showing your products? It would be quite fitting-being the top add-on for fl.sim

Hi everybody, I was wondering if anybody could explain to me what the bleeding into the duct means. I set the switches during the starting of the apu and engines, but I realise that i don't know the principles behind these actions. What is this bleed, and how do the airconditioning packs function?Greetings,Arjen Nederstigt

Hi,I finally bought myself a new graphics card, a Sapphire X800 Pro. Now...what display settings should I use to get the most out of my new card together with the PMDG a/c? If my memory serves me right I read somewhere that you shouldn't let MSFS handle the settings but instead allow the hardware to take care of that...?Any help is much appreciated!

Gents,I was just landing on KJFK RW 22R, ILS. I got the RW alignement from the FMC, but there was a deviation of about 10 degrees, ie, the RW was on my roght(no screenshots, sorry). Of course, I had passed thru the phases of VOR LOC, APP, Double Channel etc and was cleared by the tower. But the lane just kept on my side... Winds 180 at 6...I had to turn A/P off and land manually... Uf...!Any clue about the reason? Another conflict between FS9 and Airac/SIDS STARS?ThanksBPilot

Hi,Could anyone please help me with this problem. The texture on the ground is big areas with no textures, this does not happen all over, but can suddenly appear in some areas. It can be both sea and land areas. If it is land, the base color is usually different shades of green(only one color in one area) and sea is blue. Tried very much with no success. Changed settings in FS2004 and tried one other thing I found in the forum-----------------------------The problem is FS2004 requires much more memory than FS2002 then throwing on top this aircraft you need all the memory you can get. The reason your loosing textures is due to memory. I had this same issue happen with other…

I feel dumber than a stump, but I can not for the life of me figure out what the meanings are of the Fuel on the FMC Progress Page. It has readings like 10.1 , 9.7 etc. What does that mean, Gallons by hundred, pounds etc.

........ so I buy the 737 and the upgrades. I get the 1900. I get a decent yoke. Since then; new monitor, new processor, mobo, memory and graphics cards, unfeasibly fast internet access ............. the time spent building and rebuilding .......Come on PMDG, when will you make a slightly rubbishy add on so that I can spend some disposable income on unpleasant DIY products instead? It's your social duty!:D

Sharper and crisper 2D panels would enhance the overall appearance of the panel bitmaps. With the PMDG 737, I didn't like how blurry the 2D panel graphics were--it just looked out of focus. From the screenshot of the 2D overhead panel of the 744 on the PMDG website, I just can't help but feel like I'm looking at the same old 737NG panel. It has that same dull and blurry look. Even more, the knobs the screws look the same, and the whole "feel" and "style" make it feel like a clone of the 737. I did some sharpening work in Photoshop of the overhead panel. The results are shown below. The one on the left is the original; the one on the right is the same graphic except that it…

When I used to fly Cessnas before my Medical went belly up, I loved to go to the field and practice Touch and Goes for an hour or so. I became pretty good at it because an instructor friend of mine used to have me practicing planting the mains on the runway so that the passengers could not detect the exact touchdown point. I would love to take someone up for their first time in a small plane and land it like that and watch the expression on their faces, cause they usually were waiting for some kind of minor crash as we touched down. Well I pulled one of these off today on the ILS into Tampa airport from Fort Lauderdale with a 25-35 MPH wind factor slightly off the nose.…
