Hi Folks,I recently installed Win7 64 on my FS system, and have gotten other addons (PMDG 747, LVLD 767, FT Citation X, F1 Super 80, etc.) up and running in FSX (Gold Edition). All gauges work in these aircraft, but I cannot get FT's B737 PIC to work...all gauges are "dead" - no clicking possible on anything. (Strange that their Citation X seems ok, but not their 737)?I have read in the forum that others have gotten the PIC 737 to work within the W7-64 environment....any help to get this plane working would be greatly appreciated! (I will be installing FS9 with many aircraft and scenery addons later onto this same system). Some system specs (from memory, as I'm not sitt…

Something to do with UAC I suppose, but I'm admin, user, everything and anyone has access to my PC (no password required) but when I modify an aircraft.cfg and try to save I get 'Access denied'. Go to the file, open properties, security, users, and allow permission, apply and all is well. This happens with every *.cfg file I try to save. Is there a way to have the permission apply to all files, everywhere, on my PC?

hello flightsimmers and happy holidays to all! unfortunately, I've got the "BAH HUMBUGS". I spent some money on a new PC and it seems my old laptop worked better,or at least as far as displaying the ground textures. My laptop had a single core AMD Turion Mobile with ATI integrated graphics card.It ran FS9 pretty well, with the exception of high-end addons, i.e. aircraft or scenery. My new PC has an Intel Pentium II quad core Q8400 @ 2.66GHZ, 4MB L2 Cache, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, ATI Radeon HD4350 Graphics Card with 512MB memory & DVI, HDMI, DX10.1 compatiblity. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Everyone I talk to says this new PC should be no problem for FS9 with …

My set up had been very stable for the last month (since I have had it) until 5 minutes ago. I got a BSOD and when I go in to event viewer, it gives me a bugcheck code of 26. I booted back in to windows fine. I would have gone in to safe mode but I am using a KVM switch - it seems like my keyboard is not recognoized until windows boots.I was doing nothing except surfing the fs.com forums and looking at a link to the REX site.Any ideas?

I can only use FS in full screen mode. If I try a resizeable window the initial image of the cockpit/airport at takeoff remains static. Only the sounds change. I used to be able to run FS in a resizeable window on XP. What's the deal?? I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers. I turned off tweaks like rivatuner and nHancer.

I recently put windows 7 on my computer. I have a dual boot system set up. 9 gigs of ram with an OCed i7 to 3.60 GHz. GTX 260 as well.Vista 64-bit ran great with no problems. Now that I have W7 64-bit installed. FSX gets great FPS, but it stutters like crazy after a couple of minutes and when I am flying low, I can see the autogen loading up about 3-5 miles out. It justs pops up and when it loads a new set of atuogen is when the stutters occur. I have everything set up per NickN along with enhancer. I have the 195.55 drivers installed.I have the gold edition of FSX with Accel installed.Any tips or tricks would be appriciated.Matt

I was wondering if anyone was able to give some insight (or help me understand) a problem that has cropped up since I started running FS9 with Win7 x64. A bit of background information first. I've been running the freeware 13-part mesh of Europe since I first saw it available on Avsims' library (not long after FS9's launch, I believe), I've also been running a higher-resolution mesh of the Alps over the top of this mesh for a long time and never had problems with this setup on Win XP. The problem in question is around Switzerland specifically, or somewhere like Austria where the sim loads the scenery at around this point when approaching from the south. I fi…

Is Nhancer mostly for modifying the LOOK of FS, or does it help with frame rate issues (all visual aspects being equal)? I ask because my frame rates in 7 are far less (like roughly HALF) what I got with the same hardware in XP. It's been so long, I can't remember if I got great rates from a combo of using the "perfect" version of an Nvidia driver along with using Rivatuner or not. I used to play COD, and I'm thinking that maybe I only used Rivatuner to up the FR in that game and maybe it didn't effect FS performance. It's been a couple of years so I've forgotten all the tweaks I used to apply to FS.

Hi, just a quick question; I recently clean installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I reinstalled FXS and UTX USA/Europe, and I added everything I had in my cfg file from Vista to the cfg file for the new install, including the [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=7 entry. Under Vista, I have never experienced any stutters or slide show with this setting, however Window 7 is totally different, I have micro and not so micro stutters and just real bad nearly unplayable experience with the same hardware and settings. I tried AffinityMask=14 as well but it doesn't make a difference. So what gives, ever since the Win 7 upgrade I can't play FSX anymore.Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-b…

I'm in the default install path, a clean install after doing a clean install of Win7. So far all of my scenery is under c:\program files x86\....If I try to add any scenery, I can't. The dialog lets me browse the directories, but never sees the .bgl files that I can see in Explorer.I have NOT tinkered with UAC settings yet. Those are set to default ad I need to run fsbuild and ASX as admin in order to access the real weather and open the flight plans in my add on aircraft.Any Ideas?Tim

Well, my upgrade to Win7 finally arrived. Now installed, and at first, I noticed a decrease in performance. Actually had some stuttering which I didn't have before. I tried many things, but eventually got it all straightened out by renaming my old config and starting a new config. Then I had to tweak my NHancer settings. But the best thing was to delete the 191.07 drivers and go back to the 190.02's. Now all is well again, but I really got concerned. You know....if it works, don't mess with it. Vista 64 was running perfectly, but Windows 7 was too tempting. I had to go for it. Thankfully, after a day of tweaking and trying my default flight over and over with ASA…

I used rivatuner when I had XP installed. Now that I have win 7, have an nvidia 6800 card (same as with XP), I can't get rivatuner to overclock the card. HELP!!\I found the problem--I had the WDM (sp?) drivers installed instead of the latest nvidia drivers. got them installed, and rivatuner works. However, I can't the frame rate up above "stock" when I overclock the GPU. It's been so long since I used FS2004 I forgot if it was rivatuner's overclocking feature, or something else I used to do to get the frame rate way up.

I keep having a problem with FS9 getting stuck on the W7 taskbar then not reopening. When I minimize out of FS9 to check other programs FS9 is on the taskbar. I then click on it again to open it and nothing happens. It won't open at all, it's just stuck there. Needless to say this is VERY annoying when it happens mid flight as there is no way to recover the situation other than closing FS9 in the task manager menu of W7. When right clicking the icon on the taskbar it says "FS is still running close current session" or something like that. Can someone please please help before I get so annoyed that I quite FS for good!?Many thanks,Andy S

There are a number of people on these forums, and elsewhere, stating that Nhancer is an obstacle to the smooth running of FSX with Windows 7. Is there any particular information about this? What is your experience so far?Stephen

Kinda a basic type question, but I'm suffering a brain fart. What's the install sequence to bring FSX up to date on a new Win7 computer. I've got the original Disk of FSX, and the FSX Acceleration Disk. I believe it's1. Install FSX2. Install SP 13. Install AccelerationJust need a confirmation, or am I missing a step?/s/ Tony

Just to add to all others with probs and win7. New PC, Win 7 64 bit. GTX285. Installed base FSX de luxe, reboot installed SP1 reboot then SP2. FSX loads and menu appears ( black screen for preview) fly now either gives 'fatal error' and wants to shut down or it runs with no proper graphics, no menu, nothing! Tried several nVidia drivers 186.18, 191.07 and even the new 195. Nothing. Where do I look next please?

Thinking about making the upgrade - have folks had any problems using FSX and any of these:1. Triple Head to Go - found no Win 7 drivers on their website2. FS build - will it work? 3. I have a serial port expansion card for my PFC equipment - anyone had trouble with a card like that?4. Airplanes: I will be installing the 64 bit version - my favorite planes are the Flight1 Mustang (the biz jet, not the fighter), the Captain Sim C-130, the new PMDG turbobrop and the Level D 763. 5. Any problems with reality xp gns? Thanks!Colin
