Hello,My copy of Windows 7 arrived today and i'm very happy with the OS itself. (64bit installed)I have an Nvidia GTX275, which on XP I controlled through nHancer for FS. I've done the same on Windows 7 but it doesn't seem to be taking effect in FS (jaggies etc)Anyone any experience with FS9, W7 and Nvidia? Thanks.

I am also running Mytraffic 5.2.Am i the only one to have this problem?

Hi all,Two days ago I installed W7 64 bit Ultimate and today I am installing all addons. With some Aerosoft addons like Budapest, London VFR , Alcatraz, Stadiums 2008, Monastir X I have the issue that the installation progress bar does nothing.Simply said : the scenery is not installed.Office 2007 cannot be installed either. Many other software is.Anyone know how to solve this.I already posted this at Aerosoft, but the sooner I know what to do the better. All suggestions are welcome.

I know there's a Windows 7 forum, but I really don't want to talk about it. I just can't wait to download it TOMORROW (Oct. 22) and see what it does for FSX. I'm expecting it to be a postitive experience from all that I've read. I have a coupon for a Windows 7 download that I got with my new computer. Even though I have a great running system with Vista 64 right now, the Windows 7 OS is supposed to be what Vista was supposed to be....but never was. Just thought I'd share my anticipation with readers of THIS forum.Stan

I've found that UAC prevents third party planners (FSbuild in my case) form dropping rte files into the default FSX directories (PMDG and LDS). I'm in stalled under program files so YMMV especially if you got to another path. I suspect that'll be fine. The fix is run fsbuild as administrator and allow it to make changes. Simply removing the read only flag does not work.Tim

I just read some comments that a few simmers have been using the release candidate with FSX without issue. Has anyone used FS9 with this new OS? I curious most of all to know how add-ons work in this new environment. Must not be that different than Vista although I've heard more than a few add-ons have had problems in the FS9/Vista environment. XP is the best option and still today a very viable OS (last one Bill Gates spear headed), I've just curious about this new Windows 7 platform.

I will be installing Windows 7 64bit in the next few days from Vista 32bit. My question is : I want to use Disk Image to copy my current HDD data etc from my current 32bit OS. Is there any problem when I want to then transfer the data back but now to a 64bit OS?

Hi all, Been a while since I've rebuilt my machine. At any rate I will be rebuilding this weekend and installing Win7 64 bit. I have FSX on a seperate drive. Does anyone know if I can use the utility FSX Registry Utility 1.1 to make FSX work with Win7 or should I wipe the drive clean and start from scratch? If I don't use Acceleration do I need both of the patches for FSX (sp1 and sp2) or just sp2? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Craig

I've just followed the instructions in this article with success.http://icrontic.com/articles/upgrade-the-w...-7-rc-to-retailI haven't tested it thoroughly but all seems Ok so far. I had Win7 64 bit RC installed with FSX and some extra scenery plus REX and a couple of addon planes. Obviously I went for the 64 bit RTM. The only thing that didn't upgrade successfully was the keyboard, which reverted to US English instead of UK English, not exactly a big deal. John

I have been running FS9 FSX and other games om a AMD X2 6000 system with Win 7 RC 64. Later in the week I await my purchased Win 7 Prem 64 and everything will be reinstalled from scratch. On a second computer running Win XP Home I run WideFS ASA FSBuild. I would like to hear advice on what to think about during the reinstall. For example I have both FS in their default install locations which has been pointed out to be less god. But do I need to reinstall programs on the client XP machine? More to think about? Special options or settings that should be avoided or used?

I'm currently running FS2004 on Windows XP Home 32 bit. It's time I upgrade to a 64 bit OS. Here is what I have in mind: I want to replace my hard drive with a new one. Then, I plan to install the new OS and FS2004 on the new hard drive. So I have a few questions.1) Should I get Windows 7 64 bit or stay with XP and upgrade to 64 bit XP?2) If I don't like the results of the upgrade, can I simply remove the new HD and re-install my old HD and be up and running?

Hello all,I'm currently using XP and FSX (well I was until yesterday when my hard drive blew, destroying my RAID array...). Anyway, the new I7 rig is in the works and I understand that stores will have W7 next Monday for installs - whether they can sell a system with it next week I don't know yet.I have read many posts in this forum but it seems like many of the posts are about problems with W7RC and FSX. It is hard to gauge the overall experience with W7. So the question is, which OS should I have installed in the new system? I will have a lot of add ons (scenery and aircraft), FSUIPC, ASA, GEX, UTX, REX2, Saitek yoke and TC's. I tend to add freeware scenery and aircraft…

I have installed Windows 7 as a "clean install" on my C Drive. I have FSX installed on another drive but am unable to access it. I did take a copy of the FSX files before installing Windows 7. Any suggestions as I obviously do not want to do a complete re-install when I have everything already installed on another drive.

I am not going to even pretend I'm some sort of computer guru so-having got that out of the way. Does anyone think or have an idea if Windows 7 and FSX will play nice together on lower end systems or laptops. This here is an off the shelf HP Dv1125 Pavillion, 4gb ram, dual core, and and ATI Radeon card with like, I think, 256mb native. I can run FSX here but everything is on the low end, depending on the publisher, model being flown.ThanksMark

I fly FSX always in windowed mode because on the second monitor I need the IVAO screen + FMC etc. When I hide the taskbar the framerates go about 30% up. Same when switching from the 2D-cockpit to the virtual cockpit. When I do the same running FSX with Windows XP I don't see this big difference.Has anybody else the same experience or even better a solution??Werner Verwaal-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 dualboot, ASUS P5E, OCZ 2x 2GB, Intel Q9450, 8800GTS 512 MB driver 191.03beta en NHancer 2.5.5.Samsung 22" en Dell 19" monitor DVI connected

Interesting article here:http://www.everyjoe.com/windowsvistaweblog...eatly-improved/I wonder if these kernel changes were incorporated into the beta or if this will be in a later service pack.I have not looked at every thread here, but is the consensus regarding Windows 7 and FSX is that it provides very little performance improvements?
