Hi, Finaly i've bought Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium as the replacement of my beloved Windows XP SP3. All installations are done with my admin account. I turned off UAC. I installed FS9 in a custom directory (other than "program Files"). I updated FS9 to 9.1. Next i installed the PMDG 737-600/700 and fired it up. Im very impressed about the frames, just as good as in XP. There is 1 problem i just cant remedy. As soon as i hit the <ALT> key for the taskbar menu, the screen goes black and shows the mainscreen of FS9. As soon as i click on <PMDG / OPTIONS> the mainscreen disappears and the screen goes black completely. I can see the mouse pointer but thats all. N…

I plan to get 64-bit Windows 7 for my new PC later this year. But I was wondering whether to get the Premium or the Ultimate edition for my gaming requirements. I also want the Virtual XP mode that supposedly comes with Windows 7, but I read that feature only comes with the Professional edition.Just wondering what edition are potential Windows 7 owners considering or purchasing?Any and all replies are greatly appreciated.

I finally added Windows 7 to my roster after, what, eight years using XP. A new Asus top-of-the-line laptop for designing when I am traveling (oh, and do a little simmin' on it too!). So coming from XP there is a bit of a learning curve as to where things are located now and how to get from A-to-B, etc.It seams Win7 is really good once you have a program up as far as finding files, seeing pages open and the like. Hi,When I install FSX and FSX Accel. into my Win 7 32 system, after I start up FSX for the first time, an error code 1-80004005 comes up and tells me activation cannot be completed. This limits me to demo mode. This error code occurs every time I start up FSX. I cannot find the activation screen for FSX Accel. I also was not prompted to activate FSX Accel during installation. However, without Accel installed, everything is O.K.. Any ideas?Cheers,Craig Tatley

I have had great sucess in completing fresh installs of many, many applications - with one execption - FSX DeluxeIn general - shortly after initiating the install, I receive a "1628: Failed to Complete Install" messsage. If you are having black screens or white screens during or after a flight or when you window with any aircraft, I think I may have found a possible solution, that I know at least works on my PC. Many people after upgrading to Windows Vista or 7 have been getting this wierd problem. The only solution seemed to be to lower your sound quality in Windows or turn down settings etc. This problem does not happen on Windows XP although, and NickN and other people knowledgeable in IT have said it is a memory management problem with later versions of Windows. Ok my specs are in my siggy, I just went from XP 64 to W7 64, here's the strange problem, Im using fpslimiter and its locked at 30, with XP64 it would stay pretty much right a 30fps. However with W7 in full screen mode its averaging between 9 and 14 fps, if I pan around it sometimes jumps up to 94 fps. If I switch it to windowed mode it's fine, stays locked at 30 fps. Anyone have any advice or thoughts.

Hello,As I understand it, Win7 has two default Program folders for Flight Simulator files, one for 32 bit (x86) and one 64 bit . Is it advisable to create a new , separate folder (e.g. Flight Sim) as the destination all FS9 and FSX programs rather than split them up ?Thanks,Jack

Recently installed Window7 and FSX Acceleration.The slew function does not work anymore with the Number Pad.Arrow keys work fine but I can't come to a full stop using #5 (nor rotate).Are there alternate keys for these functions?Thanks.

I just build a new computer and installed a ASUS mother board with a AMD CPU at 3.1 hz with 6 gb of memory and a EVGA 9800 GT with 512mb of memory. And I also have a 650w PS. I am using my WD 640gb HDD black. Before I installed the HDD I formatted it. I then installed FSX and it stated that something was wrong and to fix or uninstall. I went to add/delete and removed it. I then tried to re-install but again a message came up saying I can fix the program or delete. I again searched all over my C: drive and did a search but couldn't find a program or file dealing with FSX. So I tried the repair file with the install disk. I have purchased a new alienware area 51 alx. Top of the line. 6gigs of ram dual ati 5870 graphics cards( i think that is the name of it somethign like that) ....well here is the problem.... Installed flight x many times regular way and under admin...and with vista compbatily everything..... but when I install flight x it works fine. The reverse thrusters open up and stay open. The problem comes into affect when I install abacus airbus fleet that they no longer want to stay open. I was tuning via Nick's tuning thread for FSX and not paying attention.I have Windows 7 64 bitIn the section for Out Of Memory Errors, I picked up where it applied to Vista, not realizing I was still in the Out Of Memory section. I carried out the command of bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2560 How do I set it back to default for my system ? He gives a command for taking it back to default (bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2048), but I don't know if that would apply to Windows 7-64 bit. Any help?
