I have gone directly from Windows XP to Windows 7 (64 bit), so some of the user interfaces are new to me. I ran into a problem where Radar Contact would load correctly, but each time I tried to use it (example ask for weather), I would receive a Run Time error 75, Radar Contact.FSUIPC RCV4 code error message. I was able to "fix" this problem by going into the User Account Control Settings and setting it to "Never Notify".Is this normal? Has anyone else had to do this? Thanks,Jim

If you are having major fatal error problems in FSX and Windows 7, even when Windows Vista and XP were stable with FSX on the same hardware there may be a solution for you. Hi, I have just bought a EVGA 480gtx superclocked FERMI gpu to replace a BFX 260gtx black edition to complete my new rig build. I run Winxp 64 and FSX SP2, and because of the BSOD nvidia driver bug that has yet to be resolved, I am contemplating moving to W7 64 bit. I am troubled by what I heard is a tedious process to install addon scenery manually via FSX's scenery library. I have alot of complex addon scenery, most of which auto writes entries into the scenery cfg to make installation easier. Will W7 allow those install programs to write to the cfg successfully, or do I still have to open FSX, go to the scenery library, and manually add each entry?I was plannin…

I'm running an i7 930 with a GTX480 on an ASUS Rampage ii Gene board. 6 Gig RAM/W7 x64When starting a flight from KBFI-KSDF on the PMDG MD-11 with UT2 and FS2CREW, something strange happens.Everything will progress normally until right around time for engine start. Then, either there will be a CTD with an 'unknown' reason, or the ATC menu will refuse to stay open. I have to hold down the ampersand key and press one repeatedly to see anything, and upon letting go, it closes immediately. Needless to say, this is frustrating. Any ideas? Hi folks.Just upgraded to a new PC with Win7 Professional/32bit.I installed Fs 2004 from the CDs, started it up once, then ran the fs91updDEU.exe (DEU means for German FS version).It runs, does the bgl files, but when it comes to the file scenery\Generic\texture\lbelt_ln.bmp it quits with a very uninformational error message "Flight Simulator Module has stopped working". When I start Fs9 it still says version 9.0.0 instead of 9.1 as it should.Of course I ran the update as "Administrator" (right click -> Run as Administrator). And of course I ran the fs91updDEU.exe from inside the FS9 folder as suggested. And the Fs9 folder is NOT inside the "Program Files" folder where…

I have finally installed FSX on my Win7. All seems to work well, excluding that on start my desktop is reverted to basic windows theme.I have only two problems: -a crash when i use right mouse button 2 or more times in a window-when i request progressive taxiing in ATC window, the line disappears immediately, leaving me without guide in the airport.Someone knows about a fix for these problems?TnxR

In final stages of re-installing FS9 into Windows 7 64 bit and cannot get voice playback from RCV 4.3...and PFE Deluxe. The FS9 atc and all other sounds are normal...OPS just won't playback the said program(s) sound. Can anyone give me some ideas and where to look for a possible resolution to the problem. :(

Hi not sure this is the right forum but saw some topics with fatal error, and I do use win 7. In Dec I changed to a new computer and spend a nice amount to have a system which will allow me to use FSX without problems. Every time I ended up wiht the same problem that i am running out of RAM.... sometimes after 2 or 3 hours sometimes after a few minutes or just after starting the programm. attached some information abut my system and the response i do get. I spend hours reading through different forums, tried lot of things but always witht he same result.Now i hope that someone can hlep me to get FSX running smooth ...... i doubt it is my system ...For any support thanks i…

FS9 keeps minimizing in Win7 64bit. I have installed FS9 sucessfully in WIN 7 64bit. I got all the addins from my old machine (Win XP) to install. Now the machine after a few seconds keeps minimizing without touching any mouse of joystick. I have installed the lastest driver for my video card (Nvidia Quadro 4600 workstation card). I do not think any other application is running which would put the game into minimising.Any recommendations?

Just when I thought my problems were over I experienced a CTD, after recovery I found that the entire Airport Database has gone AWOL?Can anyone suggest how I could overcome this problem, please?Ken

I've been away from FS for a while...when last heard from I was running FSX under Win XP. Then I upgraded, getting a system designed to run FSX efficiently. I installed FSX and both service packs, and it seems to work--except that I have some view problems. I've found them on the Ultralight, the Cessna 172, and the Beechcraft Baron, so I assume there are similar problems with other aircraft.:In Cockpit View mode the instruments (at least) are distorted horizontally. I would think I am like many simmers out there who have upgraded to a new Win7 machine but still have there old one intact. For me that old one is a desktop running WinXP Professional (which I still like and use daily). So I have a new Win7 laptop running Home Premium 64. Here's the set up: The two are connected via a router using Ethernet connections (no wireless). And when these two are running I have no internet connection. I can open FS9 and select a plane and a flight plan but when I get into the 2D cockpit or spot view I get the round blue busy cursor constantly and the simulator does not allow me to use the mouse to select or change numbers in the autopilot. I have checked the applications and services running and closed them one by one with no change. I am running FS9 under W 7 Pro64. This evening I attempted to load the Flight1 Commander 112A. I had attempted to load this aircraft sometime ago, but although it appeared to load properly, it would crash the sim when I select it for a flight. After a couple of attempts I removed the aircraft from my computer by running its uninstall program.I then reloaded the sim and selected the Eaglesoft Columbia 400, and later the their Cirrus SR20 & SR22 aircrafts but they would not load. So I've been playing FSX for about 6 months on my Windows Vista in Ohio. When i moved down to Florida, i've played for about 3 months and stopped playing, and uninstalled. When i got a upgrade to Windows 7 on my Windows Vista Computer, everything was great, except for installing FSX. When i installed FSX, It worked, but only for a day. Hey all.Using win7 64x with fs9 with no problems until today. FS9 won't start, not even a splashscreen. I ran the task manager and the tried to start FS9...All I get is the fs9.exe using about 2mbs of RAM and the Rundll32.exe using about 45% of my cpu...rebooting did nothing. After killing FS9.exe, rundll32 kills itself (virtual suicide? :( ). Any ideas? Will be happy to answer any questions from you...

Hi there,I'm trying to get speech recognition working on my computer. I've got W7 64bit Ultimate. I can set up the microphone, take the tutorial, and train my profile but I cannot actually start the Speech Recognition program to run in the background to allow me to dictate. When I click the "Start Speech Recognition" button, nothing happens. I googled this and no one else has this inability to start the program, so I have come here in search of an answer :).

Hi everyone, I posted this in the F1 support forum hoping they might have seen this before. I'm out of ideas. I have installed Win7 64bit (new home-build) and just re-installed FSX this morning. This is a clean install following the guidelines in the Flight 1 FAQ's. In addition UAC is off, FSX is installed on the C root drive (C:/FSX) and anti virus was turned off during the install. Hi allI'm trying to add a downloaded scenery file to Addon Scenery in FSX using Windows 7.I have full Administrator rights.Every time I try to add the file (drag & drop or copy/paste), I get a 'Access denied' message, suggesting I need full administrator rights, etc.I've even tried this by turning off this security in User Access Control (UAC).These 'security' settings in Win 7 are driving me nuts! (Life was so easy with Windows XP.....)Has anyone found a way to overcome this?Toni.
