Has Austin or anyone from LR chimed in about how long a wait for future fixes of issues of initial release. Also about priorities of which issues will be fixed first? For someone who has shelled out $60 for this first version, I do think this is a fair question; also, it would help others who haven't purchased this release yet. ps: Looks to me that use of Simheaven's X-World will go a long way to solve a lot of the complaints about the initial release.

Watch the ice and snow building up on the runway and the grass. Watch the ice and snow melting on the runway and the grass. It's like watching paint drying 😄 TM and shows it can be done by a "small team" TM.

XP12 is downloading ! At last ! I've been all of the posts at the AVSIM forums, about XP12, XP12 vs MFS, MFS vs XP12, ... Being away from the home PC is at the same time good to avoid he stress if installing and testing a "new" simulator, and stressing when I keep reading all sorts of messages and trying to make my mid about X-Plane 12. I confess I never ost hope in LR, starting with Austin, a person I have to have in very high / good consideration becuase as much as he sometimes can look a bit full of himself, that characteristic is probably what brought us X-Plane, after he started it as a personal Project and decided to make it publicly available. …

From Ben Supnik Hello there! Well, this has been a crazy couple of weeks. X-Plane 12.00 is now available for Early Access – in other words, everyone can get X-Plane 12. Over the next few weeks we will post more about ongoing development and get into some of the new features in depth – there’s a ton to talk about in X-Plane 12. For today, here are just a few notes on some issues that have come up over the last few days. Early Access X-Plane 12 has been in a private alpha test program with third parties since December (!) – almost nine months. During that time we built 38 (!) official alpha builds, recut the global scenery five times, and committed…

I think that the miss understanding is not if our graphic cards/drivers supports Vulkan but which sub version of Vulkan. According to Laminar own requirement page for XP12, you need: As far as I know, Intel iGPU chips (excluding Arc) do not support Vulkan 1.3, but I hope to test this on a laptop with Core™ i7-1185G7. I speculate that it might not work for XP12 but will work with no issues on XP11.

Used the XP11 installer at .Org - everything appears to function correctly I'm hopeful LR will work on the clouds - especially when near/in them - they destroy performance. AFLB350 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr AFLB350cockpit by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr

Am I the only one having issues with the float plane version of the C172 in XP12? It takes forever to accelerate. Initially I'm adding full power with full elevator up to get the floats over the hump (not sure if this is simulated correctly), but doesn't seem to work. It takes me like 1 minute to reach 40 knots. Anyone?

XP12 models high speed aquaplaning, so be prepared for a greatly reduced tire friction (both for braking action and directional control) above aquaplaning speed. It's of course most noticeable with high standing water on the runway. The aquaplaning speed depends on tire pressure, so e.g. the Citation X will transition to/from aquaplaning above 100 kts, while the Piper Cub with tundra tires will keep aquaplaning until below 20 kts!

Before we all start writing off X Plane 12. First and foremost, this is early Beta! very important to understand with LR 🙂 Secondly is keep in mind that Orbx have jumped on board with XP12 and ortho is likely too improve. Third point and most important is that this is version 1.0 which is hot of the press before we get all those wonderful updates. I think that LR have approach this in the right way with an open heart with listening from all simmers with what works and what doesn't with the good the bad and the ugly as some youtubers have coined to offer a final product with X Plane 12 which was never offered by team MS....

So what are the changes required in aircraft. So far xp11 planes work pretty well in 12. Things changed are. 1. Flight model, but I think this will affect the bigger jest than most small planes, 2. Jet engines. Was mentioned about N1 N2 so they spool more realistically and sound more real. 3. Biggest thing. Lighting. Affects displays VC and paint jobs. This includes the airport vehicle lighting, all needs tweaking by Laminar (who are aware it) and developers. Too bright at night. For thr new MU2 thats next apparently night light sucks in it. Starts work on upgrade monday. 4. Data reference have some changes, This affects will affect a few …

Has anyone flown the included king air C90a and if so your thoughts? I always thought that it in XP11 was well done as i flew one for many years in the RW with the -21 engines. Dave

To be clear, I have no issue with paid Early Access Beta of X-Plane 12 as this is where the software industry is now for almost any "game/simulator". We know it is a iterative work and many of the issues will be sorted out in the final release. However which genius in LR came up with this crazy idea of releasing "DEMO Showoff" version to the public based on a early beta 1 code? This is leaving a bad taste and impression and hurting long term success of the platform on what I was reading/seeing in the steams. Why not wait for the free public demo to be based on a more mature build like RC1?
