Norway is a fantastic country for scenery and aviation, but unfortunately the default scenery is somewhat lacking in detail. The data inside OpenStreetMap is minimal and there is quite a lot missing. Therefore, I've started worked on a scenery for Norway which makes use of the following: Country-wide data generated from kartverket vector data. So far I've found XP 10.42 runs pretty well, and on the whole runs smoother than P3D, but there are some things that are kind of puzzling. I have the Carenado King Air B200 for XP (really nice, I love it!) and it really hurts the frames. Even with fairly modest settings (shadows off, no car traffic, no water reflections, 2x SSAA/FXAA, objects/roads at "Tons") there are a lot of areas where I can't even maintain 30fps. Extended DSF scenery is not turned on either, although I tried with it on and it didn't affect my frames all that much (at least not compared to how the B200 does.) My PC is fairly stout - i5 3570k @ 4.6ghz, 16gb DDR3 2400mhz CL10, 980 Ti, Samsung 850 Pr…

Had a blast today and tonight on PilotEdge with my kids in my little 737-200 Sim. The approach into Vegas looked pretty darn real if you ask me. I made a comment jokingly on final that the controller dumped me into the approach to high hence the sink rate sink rate on approach LOL Thanks for another great day of flying on PilotEdge with my kids. Does X-Plane benifit from cpu affinity settings? If it does what are some of you guys using?

Tuning radios in X-Plane can consist of two different methods. A user can click on the inner or outer knob he wishes to tune and then "drag" the mouse with the button held down in order to sweep the frequencies up and down. The other method consists of clicking the knob you want to tune and then "holding" the mouse button down which will cause the frequency to start sweeping up or down. If you have used both methods in the past which do you prefer? Please respond by: "click and drag" or "click and hold." If you have another suggestion please post it. JRollon CRJ200 v1.53 Win7-64 Xplane10.42 64bit Pilot view Plugin version 1.70 I got the pilot view plugin working ok (the eight 2D camera views, overhead panel etc. using the mouse to select them from the pilot view Control Panel) from the Xplane menu. My problem is setting up the Pilotview.ini file for keyboard keys I would like to use. If someone has an example ini file to show me with their keys assigned and working then I could do a test then later assign my keyboard keys. Hi everyone, I've taken it upon myself to fool around a bit more with X-Plane 10 lately. I downloaded and installed X-Camera and Headshake (both amazing plugins!) I have a couple of questions/issues. First one is that HeadShake piston effects don't seem to work at all. They did two or three months ago when I last tried it, but on this fresh install of XP10 and HeadShake 1.5 there's no effect from the prop on piston aircraft. Anyone know what the solution might be? Second, using X-Camera, I've configured numerous cameras just fine, but I couldn't find out if there's a way to bind specific shortcut keys or buttons to each camera. Hello all, I bought the FF757 however unfortunately my system wasn't really up to the task. I've since upgraded to a gtx 970 so am going to reinstall XP10. I have spent almost no time with the 757. Is the 767 enough of an improvement to justify purchasing it without having spent time with the 757? Alternatively should I just wait for the ixeg? Advice appreciated

Hi, so I'm relatively new to X-Plane, and was playing around today. I still can't get used to the difference with FSX as to how to set your view in the cabin, it seems a little weird to get what I want or something "real", but I'm sure it's just me, as I have seen screenshots and videos that look great (if anyone has tips/tutorials they will be most welcome). But what I want to ask is this: - I'm in the virtual cockpit view. I play around with the zzon, forward, back, etc until I get something I more or less like. - I switch to an external view - I go back to the virtual cockpit view, and the view is reset as if I was 10 feet away from the control…

I can't get "world2xp_europe" (downloaded it from Simheaven) to work. When I start XP it claims that it can't find certain libraries although I re-downloaded them all (ff-library_extended-LOD, world-models_ext-lod, R2, Europe_library, OpenSceneryX,RD_Library, and many more). Since it decided to snow in Charlotte NC this early weekend and the workplace decided to close as well; I have some free time to play around with World Editor 1.41 and decided to modify some ramp starts. When I finished the changes and was ready to validate I received this error below however the movements I made should not pertain to this error I would not think. For the record I got the free scenery (KCLT) off of x-plane.org and was only trying to customize the ramp starts in addition to learning the tool...any help would be most appreciative. So yes, new to X-Plane and all the information is a bit to much to take in tbh. I have downloaded hundreds of GB with scenery but I can't seem to get them to work together properly. Recently I have downloaded OSM Europe, but right now I have two folders of them in my "custom scenery" which I'm not quite sure what each of them is meant for. First of all - for those of you having OSM Denmark Pro, is this how it is suppose to look like? I don't think so. Secondly, I tried downloaded OSM Europe scenery along with the Innsbruck tile on 1500MB, but I don't its supposed to look like this either. Guys, I never spent money on TrackIr. Not that I wouldn't like to have one, but even the rudder pedals allways took me months to decide buying because it's really the type of superfluous artifact IMHO... Now, a simple webcam is something I might consider, and this Tracking software looks good, at least based on the videos I watched in Youtube. Question: Are any of you using Tracker XP? Opinions?

I intend to get my first add on plane for XP 10. I look for a single engine GA aircraft. As far as I know these four are the best offerings available. What are their strong points compared to the other ? Which is best ? I believe there is a function in XPX (native) that allows me to download METAR's. Does this only download METAR weather for a given radius of my current aircraft, or is it global (or even just "all US")? And, once downloaded in native XPX, is there a way to save that weather configuration for later retrieval (after other METAR information has been downloaded? Or is there an XPX addon for that? No sound from comm radio. Radio comes on but speaker icon comes on with a line through it. There is no Atis, clnc or tower and this all works at same airport with default plane. Any help would be appreciated. Dickdavis229

Not finding reference to this anywhere in forums, so it might be a problem exclusive to me: can't get ALT holds to disengage on the Carenado PA-46 Malibu. ALT can be set at either of two panel locations (digitally or push-button), but remains engaged after depressing both prior to approaches - so the only way to disable it has been to turn off the AP/FD. Not good for ILS or LOC/non-precision approaches! Carenado can't replicate this, and the problem is unique to this aircraft. Anyone else come across this anomaly?
