New XPX user but this one issue is bugging me. Is it normal for the OSM buildings used by w2xp to be lit up so much at night? They look like white cubes almost. This isn't so bad in sparcesly populated OSM areas with a few buildings but in New Orleans, where the OSM data is really good, it looks really odd at night. Are there other, better night models out there that only have lit up windows but dark facades so they blend at night?

Hi, I've found someone on Facebook who said that the JARD A320 v2 was working in Linux and he posted some screenshots, so I decided to try by myself and see if it's running. Even if on the X-Plane.org Store they say the plane is not compatible, my test revealed that the plane is really working in Linux, since have realised a couple of flight with no problem.

I'm glad for this but hope the fps drop isn't as bad as people are reporting in the cirrus. As we know in XP world Dan does such a nice job on the systems etc. http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php

I recently had some issues with my XP 10, so I decided to clean up and start again. Maybe it was simply overloaded with all this great freeware. When I tried to install SMP3 and the Saab 340 I got an error. Apparently I've used up 3 activations in 6 months. I contacted support and now I need to explain why I used up the 3 activations. I've told myself over and over again to avoid doing business with these types of developers, but I did not listen to myself. Shame on me! I've uninstalled both and now I will be looking for freeware clouds and textures. Thanks. Jose

I decided today I would try my hand at finally converting some of my FSX scenerys over to Xplane with FSX2Xplane. I read some topics and watched some youtube and figured it looked fairly straight forward enough. Well i was wrong haha, its a little more difficult than it looks. I converted over my AS EDDM and DD EPKK, and i managed to get them converted and i can see them, however there is stuff wrong with it. I tried figuring out how to use overlay editor to fix it and that is where the troubles lay. For EPKK, things look pretty good until i zoom out a little and then the airport gets covered by grass. So sitting on the runway at first glance its good, however halfway dow…

After not liking Xplane for many years due to poor scenery and lack of FSX quality planes I finally decided to give it a major try I picked up Skymaxx V3 for clouds, download W2XP and RTH 4.0 and honestly I'm amazed, the night environment is stunning and with mods the sim looks great except for two things the planes look flat and the water looks too glassy but regardless I'm quite amazed at this sim and the amount of payware quality freeware available! Also I found this imagine if FlyTampa did official conversions like this! There is so much potenial in this sim the best part is no OOM's and amazing performance!

Is there a Garmin GTN650 GPS available on the XPlane sim platform?.....or is there any word that their might be at some point? Thinking of jumping from FSX to XPlane instead of P3D when I upgrade to a new computer. Thanks! Jim Edit- I should be more clear.. The TR182 included in the demo XPlane I downloaded looks great, but I would like to replace the GPS in it with a GTN650 when I purchase. I have done similar modifications to panels in FSX. My reading makes me believe it's capable of being done in XPlane also...yes?

Considering trying out XPlane, what are the base element or add ons I need to start this? I fly only airliners in P3D, appreciate any insight, the graphics and the night lighting look terrific in X Plane.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a realistic Cessna 152 model for XP10. I've tried the Carenado C152 and I think it is a pretty decent model as far as I can judge. There are a few other C152's available such as x-aviation, c-74 I'd like to try and some freeware models. Does anyone have any suggestions on these models? There is not much info on these on the internet. Thank you!

  21. Hello everyone, Recently I migrated to xp10 after using fsx and P3Dv3. P3D has been realy great so far but the crash to desktop phenomenon kept coming back although less frequently then in the fsx days. Xp10 has given me a lot of fun so far. I have 32 Gb memory now and Alpilot uhd mesh is running very smoothly. There are fantastic video's on youtube whith xp10 and Simheaven photorealistic scenery. I understand that these sceneries are no longer available. Is there anyone who knows where to get this scenery or is willing to share their scenery (newsgroup, torrent etc.). Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

Hi there, At SimCoders.com is now published the new Reality Expansion Pack v2.0 for X-Plane. It's an A2A-Like software that enhances the C210 by Carenado. The new version adds more complex engine dynamics, more damages (such as engine's oversquare operations), the interactive walkaround and the towing. Here's a video of the walkaround and the towing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N43tx_DYRmc You can find more informations at http://www.simcoders.com/reality-expansion-pack/carenado-cessna-210 We're going to release the same thing for the F33A Bonanza.

I likely don't need to post a link where it can be found. The package comes with the LISA Akoya as a bonus, which I'm almost just as excited about. Plus they released a freeware scenery to accompany the Akoya. The Victory looks superb (as does the Akoya). Curious about the functionality present in the FMS, but I'll find out for myself this weekend.

Forgive me if I'm missing the obvious here as I'm relatively new to X-Plane, but is there anyway to mute the sound in X-Plane using a keypress like "Q" in FSX/P3D? I'd even take them muting on a task switch. I know I can go to the sounds menu and uncheck it, but that's not the most convenient thing. Thanks.
