I am mid air between LOWW and LSZH, then bam - FPS is cut in pieces and I have around 6-7. If I turn weather, FPS stays the same. If I turn off/disconnect from VATSIM via squawkbox, everything becomes silky smooth. This has occurred while on ground as well, but at least there I could reconnect to get rid of lag and stutters. Does not work in air. Is it xsquawkbox that is causing this or some other conflict? I have the latest version. Thanks for any input! In addition, my GPU load is only 30 %.

Hi folks, First let me say that I installed X-Plane this week (after trying it earlier in the year and not being so impressed) and this time round, with some commitment to setting it up properly and getting some of the amazing freeware addons in place, I'm loving it! Here's my question to the X-Plane gurus;- I've downloaded a few addon airports that come with a base photoscenery layer, within and around the airport. KSAN from the .org is a good example. I'm not personally too keen on the photo layer, and was wondering whether it is possible to remove this layer, and just have the objects etc ? Looks like the new REP is now available on Simmarket! It's not up at the .org store yet, but probably will be soon. I have the REP for the F33 and like it a lot. It's not perfect but adds a lot to immersion to GA flying. I'm not sure if there will be a discount for the V35 for owners of the F33, but it would be nice as many features such as the engine simulation should be the same in both.

This is just my thought process and experience and not meant to say what is better and what is not.... just to say what is better for me. I have fully converted from FSX to XP. I recently had a crash on my PC and had to re-install all of my FSX add-ons, and I had a lot. However, that was not the worst part, the tweaking and trying to get rid of this and that problem was. Could someone tell me if there is additional settings I need to set once the NOAA plugin is installed, other than the control panel setting of the plugin itself. Does this plugin override the XP weather engine? I noticed I could no long select Use Real-Weather and Winds-Alot so I assumed that the plugin has taken over and all settings are controlled in the plugin panel. Thanks

After a while of switching from fsx to Xplane I finally decided to do a flight from a more demanding scenery, I was flying in Slovenia and its neighboring countries for a while now getting used to X plane. I started from London City and wanted to just fly around before I land. The framerate on take off were good, a roundish 26, which in my opinion was great considering the scenery I was in. After takeoff the frames dropped to 20 - 22 so I lowered my objects number to "tons", it was set to "too many" since I had more than 30 fps in my previous flights. Just curious if you've ever thought about (or if it's even possible) to have W2XP buildings place a concrete, straight grey texture underneath them somehow as they populate? When I was flying over Phoenix the other day I just thought how good it would look with just a simple generic one color grey texture put underneath them so they aren't sitting on green grass. I realize you can use UrbanMaxx, but that basically ends up looking like a bad splatter to me because of the buildings being drawn on the UrbanMaxx textures that don't relate to the 3D buildings on top of them. It ruins the clean, 3D look that makes XP unique IMO.

Hello, I need some help with a very odd problem that I have never ran into before. When ever I hit the "P" key to pause X-Plane, my Command Prompt window opens and I cannot close it, even with the Task Manager. When I close it another Command Prompt window will pop up. After several times trying to close the Command Prompt window, it freezes X-Plane and will eventually cause X-Plane to crash completely. I've tried to change the pause key to "Shift+Ctrl+P", but the same thing happens. It is only doing it with X-Plane and no other program. If I pause P3D, it does not have any problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Bob

Hi, I would like to know what setting should I play with to make the 3D lights appear more far away during night? Is there a way to increase the display radius of the 3D lights around the plane? Best regards, Pierre

Hello, I am struggling to find the good setting of anti aliasing that works best with my card. I am using HDR rendering (can't go without it) and 4x SSAA + FXAA currently. I am quite happy with the look, but, I still have shimmering on some objects (airport antenna etc) in the far distance. I wonder if there is a way to improve anti aliasing a bit more to get read of these? I read somewhere that I may set Nvidia Inspector to "Enhanced In Game AA" and add some more AA. Does anyone tried it? I would be great if GTX970 may share here their experience regarding AA in Xplane 10. Best regards, Pierre

Hi Im new to xplane 10 so please excuse my ignorance. I have searched for solutions to this prob but could find nothing. The issue is when I hop in a plane in xplane and set the 3d cockpit command view I cannot adjust the camera at all. Mouse look doesnt work, the rotate left right etc keys dont work nothing moves the camera. Also when I select this view the camera is low and to the left like the pilot is a nine year old with balance problems. When I go into free camera view then all the keys and mouselook works again but the translate keys move super fast and the view shoots out of the cockpit with one press of either rotate view key.. Hi i dont know why any addone aircraft i'v used steering to the left sidegreatly and need some rudder action very effectivly to be corrected. (no wind) while there is no problem with default one any idea? thank you

Hi All, Is it just me or does anyone else find that the mouse cursor is really laggy when moving it over the cockpit switches? Primarily in the IXEG 737 but I think it's a general XP thing rather than aircraft specific. Seems to be when the cursor changes from a normal arrow into the hand, it hesitates and slows down. Particularly noticeable if you move the mouse quickly over a panel with lots of click spots, like the overhead or the MCP, the mouse seems to slow down. Is it just me?!

Let's say that 95% of the time I use X-Plane 10 I use it with PSX, and, I really like how smoother it is compared to FSX or P3D used for the same purpose, but still not up to the level I would like... I couldn't care less about the scenery, other than airport scenery. I prefer to have nice weather rendering, at least compatible with what I have in PSX, so, I would liek to have some option to totaly disable autogen scenery other than that making part of airport buildings ( from the XP Gateway ). In FSX I could set Scenery Detail to ULTRA or something like that and autogen to NONE, this way getting only the buildings at the airports and some main buildings in towns…

Hi, I am still trying to find the best setting for my new sim platform Xplane 10^^ I was trying to fight what I thought was shimmering due to lack of anti aliasing at far distance. I didn't get any good results with enhancing AA through Nvidia Inspector. However, I used zoom in function trying to see what and where was the shimmering exactly, and I found out that it was not shimmering but rather some flikering of autogen objects behind the airport and sometimes some airports objects or texture. It is not really beautiful to see from the cockpit but it seems to disappear when flying. I wonder if someone has experienced this phenomenon or could help me to fi…

At the .org some alternative textures were added to the File Library, including reduced / optimized textures for Europe and USA as well as World models. Any one tried it yet ?

I've noticed that the strobe lights of other aircrafts when playing on VATSIM appear very large and "blobby", especially at distance. Are there any ways of reducing this size, or better, convert to a more realistic appearance? Came over Heathrow yesterday at dusk and the whole airport was like a christmas tree due to all the large strobe lights of other aircrafts :wink:

I'm looking for a good regional Jet for XP10. With "good" I mean at least on pair with a Carenado product (in example like the Flywings Avro RJ70 for FSX), so: credible textures and panels and good 3D models (no fake colors.. plastic looking and such). I've looked around, but I can only find sub-par looking planes .. nowhere near the FSX/P3D quality. Anyone has anything to suggest? (please no ugly looking stuff like the avroliner project or such...).

Hi guys! I use XP to fly helicopters in the past but always use FSX/P3D for airliners. Now i bought IXEG and i'm planning to use only XP. I am in the process of initial setup and plugins install. I have: X-Camera NOAA Headshake Gizmo IXEG HD Mesh V3 Plan to add Skymaxx Pro and Connector. In hardware side: i7 2600k @ 4,6Ghz 8GB RAM EVGA GTX770 4GB SSD Do you recommend to lock FPS? And to use Nvidia Inspector? I have latest Nvidia drivers. I'm testing a settings from another thread now with 30 locked FPS and is very smooth.

I'm giving XP another go... and installed all the recent stuff. Now before deep into anything else, let's start from the basics, what's the realistic frame rate I should expect? I'm asking because I read so many opinions and different results, that I'm confused what's the overall performance I should see on my system. I'm running it on a 6core @4.3Ghz, 980Ti, 24GB RAM, SSD. With HD Mesh Scenery v3 and SkyMaxx, sitting on the runway at EDDL i'm doing 32fps, on air around 24 fps. If I enable w2xp_europe_osm it drops under 17fps. Are those almost correct or should I expect more at my resolution (1600p) ? My settings:

Hello, Another newbie question from me :wink: I am using the great Real Terra Haze plugin and I saw there is a lod setting button in the GUI. There is no explanation inside the manual. What's the result of changing this value? Does it have to do with mesh details? How does it affect performances? Thanks for your help, Pierre
