The Dreamfoil Schweizer S300CBi Revision1 is now available (the chopper only came out last week). There's a great review at Helisimmer where it's one of the top rated helicopters there and scores slightly higher than the DCS Huey (which I also love). If you are a virtual chopper pilot, then do yourself a favour and check it out. I nearly passed up on this one because it looked so insignificant ... boy was I wrong, it's a ton of fun to fly and great for honing basic helicopter flying skills.

In FSX I use FSUIPC and WIDEFS to send a keystroke to a second computer running a third party program. I specifically use it to map a the PTT button in a yoke connected to the x-plane computer, so when I push and hold that button FSUIPC/WIDEFS act as if I am holding the F12 key on the remote computer. The remote computer is running a third party ATC program using F12 as the PTT button. Now, is there a way in x-plane to send a keystroke to a remote computer as I did in FSX?

I have been searching for a PFPX-profile for the LES Saab 340A without luck for quite some time. I am aware that there is a profile for a Saab 340B in PFPX, but I would like to use the correct settings to get accurate fuel calculations and flight times. Do any of you know of a profile for the LES Saab 340A? :smile: Thanks

I fly X-Plane on a top of the line iMac and had begun having numerous software crashes in version 10.40+. I also have a ton of custom scenery and a large number of plugins. Thinking those could be the source of the crashes, I did a clean install of the most current 10.40 release (prior to the release of 10.50), but still experienced software crashes that would usually take place after around 30 minutes of flying, but sometimes sooner. Additionally, it didn't seem to matter what aircraft I was flying, and I had become so frustrated with 10.40+ that I was reluctant to even start it. I was wondering if anyone has a review or opinions of these 2 addon's from jardesign? So the other night, I decided on a whim (a silly, silly whim) to upgrade my video drivers. I tend not to mess with these, since I run FSX and that can be rather 'particular' about drivers. As such, I had been running the same set that I installed when I first got my 980ti, last spring. Well.... After uninstalling and cleaning up any traces of the old drivers, I installed the new set. I you have been following this topic over at the .org, you know that the 2.2 release of Word Traffic is imminent (imminent in X-Plane time, so weeks, maybe months), and it's the first real AI plug-in for X-Plane. With the deadline to upgrade comming I'm thinking of upgrading so I can add more memory (I'm limited by 16gb by home premium) What'd everyone's thoughts on 10? I plan on shutting off all the bloat ware and installing classic shell. Also did anyone get a performance boost from moving from 7 to 10 Thanks David

Hi Right now i fly with P3D. In my opinion it's a lot better than FSX. I see i lot of Video in youtube about the IXEG 737 and it's look very impressive. I fly plane like PMDG 737/777, aerosoft A320, Majestic Q400. I would like to know the performance(FPS) of the IXEG 737 vs the PMDG 737 in P3D. Hello gents - I was flying the IXEG 733 from Britain to Vienna a while ago, when I realised that my performance suddenly degraded - from 45-50 FPS, the simulator dropped to 20. On a whim, I went to GPU-Z to check the status of my GPU, and lo and behold - the chip was running at a significantly lower clock rate than it ought to be - around 900 MHz instead of my GPU's 1300 MHz. Is this behaviour reproducible in any of your computers? Furthermore, I find it odd that the GPU-Z sensors do not report a VRAM usage value, when they usually do when running other games. Question for my fellow x planers, as I am new to X Plane 10, and have spent the last few days downloading plugins, airport addons etc, I have just come across HD Mesh V3. My question is, do I need to download all to get world coverage? as they seem to be at different resolutions.

I currently have 16GB of system RAM and an GTX 680 FTW (4GB) for my GPU. On alpilot's site it states that I need 16GB or more to be able to use the new UHD meshes. But I'm getting out of memory errors and the sim exits. I have the extended dsf option enabled and also have w2xplane regions in my scenery ini file for america, europe, australia, asia, and so forth. I thought it was possible that running UHD mesh with w2xplane addons would result in this error because too much is being loaded into memory. So I went into the scenery ini file to disable all those w2xplane entries, reloaded up the sim, and I am still getting out of memory errors. Has anyone with 16GB of …

As of today, the UHD Mesh Scenery v1 series has a new region: Japan The main differences (and improvements, compared to HD Mesh Scenery) are: High resolution DEM elevation data. Based on the AW3D (© JAXA) 30m data, and where AW3D has holes, filled up with SRTM 1sec (30m) data. Latest landclass data based on the "AVNIR-2 high-resolution land use land cover map 2016 February release (version 16.02)" (© JAXA) Massively increased mesh density ... by roughly factor 2.5 to 3! I love the new extended DSF option in X-Plane 10.4x, but to me another eye sore is when you're flight at dusk, dawn, or at night and you're at such an altitude where you can see the night lighting getting cut off in the distance. It really ruins the immersion of flying at these hours. I was hoping that the extended DSF would fix this problem but it didn't. Is there some way where we can make the night lighting extend out further? :(

Hi all, I currently have been using the Carenado 182 Skylane with the g1000 for my GA flying and its been a joy, however I would like to try another plane.. I was looking for something similar but better. Is the CT206 any good? Can someone make some recommendations? I really wish the makers of the Realair Lancair Legacy would be available for X-Plane 10, that was one of my favorites. Especially when paired up with the GTN 750. Amazing!

I have never tried flying online in X-Plane or P3D. I would like to try this with someone or a few people to see how it works. But I have no experience whatsoever. Where should I start? What plugins do I need. I have created an account on VATSIM a long time ago I think. But never actually flew online yet. I am looking for someone who can go online with me in X-Plane and fly together. Either GA or Commercial. Will any planes and 3rd party scenery/airports work for flying online? Some quick background . I've been on Vatsim since the Roger Wilco days, yes I'm aging myself. I had my first issue last night and got booted off. Needless to say I was little annoyed because I didn't even get a chance to reply to the private msg. I was booted of the network. It said that my mic was transmitting and I needed to turn it off. Well, my mic was turned off so how it was transmitting is anyone's guess. I "think" the issue is with the calibration through Xsquawkbox and maybe the mic boost is to high? When I first got the jet the thing would rumble in the VC when I throttled up it was amazing now all I hear is the turbine fans and other sounds like ground roll ect. When in the outside view behind the plane you would hear a deep rumble but now it's just like a light breeze. I haven't messed with any settings and I tried reinstalling it but no change. In Xplanes sound dialog it shows openalsoft as curret sound driver,is this normal? Im using a realtek system for sound and have never heard of openAL I'm not really sure what caused this,any ideas?
