Whenever I try to like this add-on I bought long ago, I find something wrong with it, either the logic of systems modelled or simply it doesn't work at all... Today I installed v 1.83 in my fresh new xp10 install, and got a popup screen aborting XP10.50 with report of PNG ERROR! IDAT. CRC error panels.png and then as I click "continue" I get further: setjmp(png_ptr->jmpbuf panels.png (TEX_png.cpp:86) Any suggestion really welcomed... but honestly I never regretted so much having spent my $65 in this 777 Worldliner :-(

Any help will be appreciated. My 777 Worldliner Professional works great on my Surface and until tonight on my PC. Earlier today when loading it up it throws a warning regarding an overspeed and the FMC will not start. I found a thread stating that I should add JAVA, which I did. Now loading the 777 shuts down X-Plane, I will try to remove the latest JAVA but I wonder if anyone has a thought on if this will work or has had a similar issue. Thanks in advance.

Since I decided to test Ventura, I re-installed XP10.50, with just a few Portuguese tiles, W2XP scenery ( Euro mix from Simheaven ) and of course the NOAA plugin. I am also using SMP and RWC. My tests at airfields where the METARs were reporting variable and gusting winds show that indeed this great plugin irons out the overdone and very unplausible model of wind variability and gusts + turbulence as modeled by default XP. I hadn't noticed that before, probably because I didn't even know it was also capable of doing it, but some of you at one of this threads mentioned the NOAA plugin also changed the interpretation of the parsed METARs. Partly due to my professional backgrounds I am thinking a lot lately about how people judge the quality of addons. This is important for me because I do reviews for FS MAGAZIN since 2012, and also work for vFlyteAir since 2015. The recent negative threads in the avsim X-Plane forum have brought this topic to my attention once again. Often people give a statement like "good addons are lacking" without explaining what is "good" for them or what they expect from an addon. I'm that picky simmer who keeps asking for features probably most simmers would really not bother at all looking for... One of these features is the proper rendering of daylight, something that unfortunately few flight simulators do. Given a date, a time ( Zulu or Local ), and placing your aircraft / viewpoint at a given place on Earth you should be able to have the Sun, and preferably the Moon ephemeris correctly implemented, and a good rendering of twilight periods ( civil dawn and civil dusk, at least ), and the correct daylight according to that date-time/place. I keep reading how great the night lighting is in XP. I just can't agree. The airports are way too dark and the lighting isnt diffuse, I really have trouble seeing while taxing etc. In flight, there are these unrealistic blocks of light, simulating neighborhoods or towns, which don't look realistic to me. In Prepar3d with Orbx, I find the night lighting is much better and realistic. I keep thinking there is some setting I am missing in XP to improve my night effects because I just don't see it.

At another thread someone mentioned some open problems with this add-on. I own the C172, and updated it to the latest version. Overall I find it amusing, but there are some notorious glitches in some aspects of flight behaviour, such as the oerbanking tendency when even a mild bank is set, returning the yoke to neutral, at any power settings, turning by the left or by the right. The real C172s are, just as most GA aircraft, roll stable up to a significant amount of bank. For bank angles above 30º ( 45º) opposite aileron is required to counter overbanking, specially if turning through the left, but not at a mild 10º or even 20º bank angle, where the aircraft wi…

Hello, I'm in the process of using Radar Contact 4 with X-plane 10 via the RC4toXplane plug in. Is there a way I can assign a CH Eclipse yoke button to equal a keyboard assignment? In FSX, I used FSUIPC whereas the left and right yoke buttons = keyboard #1 & #2, respectively to respond to RC4 ATC. Many thanks / Les Parson

Is there a way or a Lua script available to change the 1hr reload interval of the weather. I'd like to reduce the reload time to every 20 minutes. I don't use any weather addons and the NOAA plugin reloads too frequently. Thanks

I know that the w2xp tool will not be further developed, very sorry indeed. Now, if I wanted to generate sceneries with the existing tool for XP 10.50 which version of w2xp and world-models should I use? I saw version numbers up to 0.9.9 but not sure which one is recommended today. Thanks Hans

Is this any better? Is it OrbX quality? I ask this, because it's quite old now and I've not seen it talked about much. Hope you can advise!

I am using the latest x737 version and when I set up the autopilot computer to fail based on IAS or time, the autopilot never seems to fail. The plane happily flies on. I am using the x737FMC add on. If i try something like an engine fire, the failure occurs as expected. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks Alan Taylor

I am pretty new to xplane x. I downloaded a few sceneries. I also downloaded a plugin package that was suggested on some forum (cant remeber where) that contained the most common packages. Im probably mixing a few terms here, but bear with me. When i enter the area of oslo, Norway ENGM airport, i get an error message that something is missing. How can i find out what files i need to make it work properly? In my mind i have this image of scenery using lego blocks. Some sceneries use the standard lego blocks of xplane, while others use custom blocks which i need to download and install seperately. I've had x-plane since version 7. Yes, that many years ago. My main sim is FSX, but as many of us like to do, if a new sim comes out, we purchase it, hoping that this sim is the one that replaces the "older" sim. Yet, I am still not comfortable with xplane. After all of these years, some things about it simply turn me off. The biggest issue for me is how aircrafts respond to joystick pitch movement. I can't download from zone photo. I added the site to the security tab in the java control panel. I've also tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge, but the download box is always empty. Can anyone give tell me what I'm doing wrong?

HI, Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176938) crushed my FPS down to about 6-8. I checked nvidia for an update to my video driver. It showed up under the "10th Anniversary" group as v372.70. After that install the FPS went back to normal up to around 38-40 FPS. Now I can fly again.................................... Looks like Microsoft has had some glitches with the 10th Anniversary update - including my Logitech 910 webcam. That fix is due in September, I hope.
