I'm new to VATSIM ATC and have a headset. Done a few flights and I like the experience. However, I would like the headset to only play ATC sounds - NOT ambient plane sounds (i.e., engines, AC, cabin announcements, etc.) Essentially, when using the headset all sounds play through the headset and none through the speakers. Is there a way in X-Plane 10.50/Windows 10 to have headset only hear ATC and cpu speakers play everything else?

I'll reserve judgement once I see some reviews of the product, but regarding the price, I have to agree, as an unknown developer, $70 is priced far too high. My guess is they've seen how desperate people are for better weather in XP10 (Just read almost every "Should I buy XP" thread) and have priced accordingly. There is a company, Chris Bell Creative Design Studios, that is developing a new technology called Virtual Earth Project, or vEarth for short. If I understand correctly, this technology can take data from photo imagery and convert it to autogen objects which are then placed over the photo scenery. There are some videos on their forum page, the first of which shows tree autogen. The project is still in its infancy, and the developer emphasizes that it is being developed for FSX and P3D only. Being new to X-Plane 10, (less than a week) how do I contact ATC to taxi from parking to take off? Also in that same line, how do I push back from a gate? I understand that there should be some yellow arrows directing me to the assigned runway/gate? Terry

Being extremely new to X-Plane 10, I wanted to visit several large airports to see how they looked. Did you know that at both KDEN and KDFW, all they have built so far are runways and painted on some parking spots on the ramps. I did a complete everything download on line (over 60 Mb) and would have expected airports of this size to have something on the ramp. Much smaller airports like KABQ and KFWA have very nice scenery when I dial them up. Are we to expect that when X-Plane 11 comes out, these airports will be populated with buildings? Hope so. Terry

All, I have now bought X Plane 10 download to take advantage of the upgrade to X Plane 11 on its release. However, is there a way in which I can port accross my steam download DLC into the stand alone version? Loath having to purchase the scenery again.

Using the NOAA plug-in (and the excellent Ventura add-on), every time I load XPX at an airport I get current weather, which is normally good. But on occasion there's something unique about the weather (like today at KSFO: KSFO 152340Z 1600/1706 21025G35KT P6SM VCSH SCT018 BKN025 - an excellent weather configuration to use the 19's). Is there some way to archive weather for a specific time/date, and be able to return to it as required, using the excellent NOAA weather plug-in? Thanks, Bruce.

Hi All, Certainly in 10.50 the smoothness and graphics are simply - wow ! :smile: I now notice cockpit shadows and when in clouds at night - are they reflections from the strobes ? My question is, are these 10.50 and above features ? I ask as I was able to up a few of my graphics settings after a small overclock. Thanks

Hey guys so I updated to 10.50 last night and now the simulator takes an eternity (like 30-45 min) to load. Anyone else seen this? I deleted the prefs and have removed the plugins but the problem persists.

All or anyone, I am at a loggerhead with x-plane and its performance. Let me clear I am not bashing x-plane I believe that it is a great sim. My PC is Windows 10, has an Intel i5-2500 quad core 3.30GHz processor. 16Gb RAM and a Nvidia GeFoece GTX 750 w/2Gb of RAM. I would think that with this setup that I could run x-plane. Today after many days of watch youtube, practicing using cold and dark and loading the FMS on IXEG 737 I taxied out rwy 26 at KDEN for a short flight to KLAS. Taxi out was flawless and the takeoff right on the numbers using A/T. Got into the air and cleaned up the AC, kicked on the AP and boom. Frame rate fluctuated between 10 -24 and the sim froze e…

I recommend going for a TITAN with 12GB of VRAM. I made a mistake when I was rebuilding my computer of buying a GTX 1080 thinking 8GB is enough. Sadly it's not. There's a big difference between Very High and Extreme texture quality with the later making custom Ortho Sceneries a lot better.

I have watched some videos people have posted on line flying X-plane X and like what I saw. I tried several time to down load and run the Demo x plane and still have not been able to get a flyable 747. Other times the demo times out before I am ready to fly. If I buy the 8 DVD global package that is on sale from the company, ($49.99) will there be some sort of documentation or tutorials on how to set it up and what keys do what? How close to FSX is x-plane in this respect? Will I see comparable scenery/airports as in FSX? I like the fact that it appears to be a 64 bit program that might run OK on my i7 4790 /16Mb ram/500 GB SSD and a GTX 980 on the Windows 10 64 pla…

With default weather or any other add-ons ? I'm curious.... Not near to my XP machine external disk right now.... otherwise I would test it myself, of course :-)

iXEG 737 Classic... Been looking at some videos. I noticed that when an engine fails inflight, or is shutdown, the readings on N1 and N2 drop to 0, there being no windmill effects ? Is the iXEG turbine model using the default XP10 turbine simulation ? I thought it used an external model ?

I was looking to upgrade my GTX650 2G to a GTX 970, but now the new Pascal cards have come out. I see many positive reviews for the GTX 1070 and 1080 with x-plane. But is there anyone who has first hand experience with the cheaper 1060 ? I do not plan to run 4K, I wonder if the 1060 is sufficient, as it should perform aproximately like the 980. thanks, Jan
