Do you want to be James Bond? Well ... then download the Republic Seabee, flown by 007 in "The man with the Golden Gun". It was payware (by Dden, the guy behind the Challenger 300), but now released as freeware.

I see this issue reported at the X-Plane FAQ http://questions.x-plane.com/3400/frame-rate-issue I wonder if users here experience the same. I do. After upgrading to RC3 the fps drop to single digit after a few minutes. No changes to the config, preferences or scenery, Could this be related to the latest Win 10 update? I disabled all plugins, sceneries but to no avail. Kind of sad, XP was at its best before this happened. There may well be an error on the user's side but I am out of ideas on this. Any suggestions appreciated.

  5. ....if you run XP 10.51r full out...I mean everything is at its highest possible setting, with Sky Maxx Pro, in the same config, than you DO NEED an 8 GB card, minimum... With everything max'ed out within XP...and everything max'ed out within Sky Maxx Pro; I have only 1,187 MB's left in reserve on my 8 GB card. If you have it....XP max'ed, and SMP max'ed will suck up just under 7GB's of on board, texture memory-resident. BTW...fabulous FPS, as the above...couldn't ask for better... Ses

I was watching the new weird trailers for Xplane. If you dont know here are the three trailers. From what I gathered people were not happy with the trailers because they weren't that great and honestly I agree. However I noticed that some videos did not look that good . But some other shots looked really good. After realizing this I noticed a marker on the top right hand side of some of the videos. Im pretty sure this is the Xplane 11 menu button. You can see this if you go to the second video. You can also see how the quality of this video is much better and the weather and graphics look really good. on the third video you can see that its al…

Those of you using this combination, could please provide me with any info on the AA settings you use ingame, HDR on or off ? Also, once in the game, how do you manage to deal with the menus ? The mouse doesn't align with the selections at all, and one has to guess the right spot :-/

  8. Around the Great Lakes area...over the last two days...we have been drowning in constant rain, and thick scud. I have noticed that the NOAA, does not seem to pass onto SMP (with Real Weather app set to ALWAYS), the proper weather metrics. It has been pouring outside, yet...I have scattered clouds, with azure blue sky. No rain, no thick scud and overcast. I think it truly doesn't work too well. I like the cloud groups it creates, but does not seem to reflect accurate weather. For a test, I removed the VS. lua...and then ran the XP internal 'get weather from the Net' tab. As soon as that downloaded, I was drowning in rain, with overcast. It was the intern…

Looks like they are starting the beta branch for 10.51 http://developer.x-plane.com/2016/09/10-51r1-available-for-beta-download/ "10.51 brings in a bunch of airports from the gateway that were built with WED 1.4.1 during the 10.50 beta process. It also has a few key fixes: If your aircraft’s airfoils have goofy values, it’s an error but you can still fly the plane. External visuals should be smoother when rolling the plane. Various window positioning and mouse clicking bugs are fixed. No more “colocated points” errors for ATC routes ending at ramps. Turbulence reduced when using real weather."

Question for anyone that has purchased the CRJ 200. I bought and downloaded but at no time has it asked for an activation. It seems to work ok but want to know for sure if it needs an activation. I bought it through x-plane.org. Thanks in advance.

I have flown both the PMDG NGX on Prepar3d and the IXEG 733. Both are superb but actually give quite different experiences. Systems on the NGX are impeccably modeled allowing one to simulate every aspect of a real flight. Weather with AS16 is also great. However, the flight model just doesn't feel quite right, the flying on the rails complaint of FSX/Prepar3d. IXEG's 733 doesn't have the ancillary functions we love in the NGX like flight loading, TOD pausing etc. Its FMC doesn't allow custom waypoints, which are handy in any JFK departure, and it doesn't even allow the doors to be opened. However, when hand flying it, it feels like the real deal, and the inherent smo…

So I just picked up X-Life Deluxe: The X-Life concept IMHO is a wonderful AI and ATC plugin; the lack of discussion or excitement is puzzling, because reading through the forums one of the drawbacks discussed regarding XP is the assumed lack of AI/ATC or a good one thereof, it has a free download option or the Deluxe paid revision. I find the airport coverage map doesn’t cover all the major airports but is constantly getting new additions; hope the developer continue it’s development. Anyone using can further comment on its use, conducting long haul routes?

That XP10 wouldn't be XP10 if it wasn't for... --> Murmur's solution to the infamous "torque bug"; --> OSM and W2XP developments, as well as the alternative Meshes by Andras and the tools for creating photo scenery; --> The NOAA weather plugin much more plausibly interpreting METAR data specially for winds with a variability and gusting group, and adding turbulence and temperatures aloft, long before these were re-introduced ( with bugs ) around XP10.45 if I'm not wrong... --> Ventura Sky, which is looking to me as another reference; --> The recently introduced static aircraft at airports, and the "AFCAD"-like info.... ( thx to LR ); --> The imp…

Hi, I am making a mesh for India but mostly would be the state of Maharashtra as this is my home state. May extend to the South. Won't be doing the Northern region because that is already covered by Alpilotx's Himalaya Mesh. I am using .hgt files from viewfinderpanorama which to my knowledge is a 30 DEM tile which should be good enough, though there is government data but the .tiff from there has a lot of spikes and I don't have any idea how to rectify it. I have made four tiles : +19+072 - Bombay - this tile has some issues hence I may remove it or look for other data. +18+072 - South Bombay - covers Butchers Island and the Elephanta Caves …

  20. After two beta rounds with about 30 forum users, I'd like to invite everyone here in the forum to try out Ventura Sky, now that it is in a pretty solid state. Minor code editing is required during the installation process, that's why I decided not to post the file to the usual outlets yet. I am waiting to hear from Joan, if he'd add official support for Ventura Sky in his NOAA plug-in, installation would truly be plug and play, and that would be a good time for an official release. A user manual with detailed installation instructions is included and should do for now! Ventura Sky Beta 3 is free. It's possible to test Ventura Sky without having SkyMaxx Pro and RWC install…

  21. Just updated to 10.50 and now whenever I load a flight it starts on the tarmac as usual but I have "<PAUSED>' and "<FROZEN>" toggles in middle of screen. I tried to use the "P" key to un-pause but that did nothing. I don't even know how to attempt to fix the <FROZEN> issue. Tried ignoring and the system is clearly affected by the two issues. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix?

With all the posts lately that seem to have such a negative spin on X-Plane, I thought I'd share something from the newest release that I'm really liking, especially for small GA fields: The new static aircraft display. If the airport you're at is newly configured with a decent amount of appropriate parking, the option in Settings/Rendering Options to "draw parked aircraft at airports" looks like it loads up the parking spots about 1/2 full of static aircraft. Combine that with one or two AI aircraft, and all of a sudden, even a little GA strip can look like a busy place, without having a ton of AI headed for the runway like a herd of cattle. The feature listens t…

Hi gang, I'm a real world pilot who also likes to dabble in X-Plane from time to time. It's really come a long way scenery-wise, but one thing has really bugged me. Lately I've been connecting on VATSIM and trying that out, which is a lot of fun! But I've noticed that in X-Plane, at night, the other aircraft's nav lights are visible over 10nm away... but not only that, each light gives off this crazy glow so that all you see is this red ball and green ball. This is especially true when overflying an active airport and the traffic on the ground is just a bunch of glowing red/green balls. Obviously this is NOT how navlights look in RL. You can see them that far, su…

  24. I haven't been too close to XP10 lately, but now that I am giving it a new try for Ventura and the latest NOAA plugin, it came to my mind that since the initial iXEG 737 release I haven't seen any announcements of further updates ? What's in the queue to be released next for the 737 Classic ? I believe some of th systems were incomplete ( FMC for instance didn't have some functionalities ? )... Any there news from the dev team ?

It's pretty impressive when a developer can take an already good aircraft and turn it into something truly special, but I gotta tell you, the brand new 'touch-enabled' Skyviews in the Aerobask Victory and E1000 make already great releases into what I can only call sublime. The aircraft themselves are already very well done, but the new avionics are very impressive to say the least. This is the first time I've ever used anything in XP that comes close to the GTN units I have in P3D/FSX. Entering a flight plan is a simple point and click affair, choosing SIDS, STARS, approaches, etc. View waypoint info, send frequencies to radios on a click, type in heading / course via…
