I thought i had seen a few mentions of getting XP11 to work with Plan-G and XPUIPC.. i configured the ip address of my machine in XPUIPC, fired up XP11 and tried to hit connect in Plan-G but it doesnt find my location on the map.. Any thoughts on that? Also.. i guess maybe due to being beta, but how do you load a flight plan in XP11? Thanks in advance

I had some computer problems and probably will have to reinstall Windows 10. Now the great thing about XP is, afaik, that it is mobile so I can easily copy the entire XP on any disk I want and start using it after installing Windows 10. Right? That is a MAJOR advantage over for instance P3D where you have to spend hours getting everything installed again. Anyway, I do remember reading somewhere that you can indeed copy the XP folder to any place you want BUT it would be a good idea to update the path to that folder in some sort of text file that tells the computer where XP is installed so any future addons you want to install can find XP more easily. Wanted to see what all the hubub was about with X-Plane 11. I am having issues with the Throttle Quadrant with X-Plane 11. I calibrated using CH Control Manager, throttle responds in the X-Plane 11 control menu but the axis move in revere order, when I select reverse axis the axis in no longer visible. I have checked and unchecked CH Throttle in the settings menu, tried different assignments and uninstalled CH Control Manager (as per a XP11 forum post) yet the throttle, mixture and prop levers do not coincide with the moment of the actual levers and the sim levers move in an erratic fashion. I'm new to XPlane 10/11 and I'm beginning to dip my toe into the addons. One of the first addons I've tried is HD Mesh Scenery v3. So far, I'd say my reaction is mixed. The default XP10 scenery seems to be superior when it comes to displaying dense metropolitan areas (i.e. cities). I've flown over several metro areas, and with HD Mesh Scenery enabled many of the buildings disappear and make the metro area seem smaller than it actually is. This morning I was flying just south of New Orleans and came upon this beauty... Another view... Not sure what this is, but it appears to be a bug with HD Mesh Scenery. While Murmur continues his study of the data available from XP11 dataref database, I would like to point out a couple of findings I did today, and contribute to restore, considerably, my hope in XP11 at least in this particular matter! Well, since Murmur suggested there might be some problem with the default C172, I decided to pick the default B58. Placed it at LPMT rw 08, braked, engines out, and started playing with the "wind rose", which, btw, reminds me more of the way DCS World interface is designed to define wind direction, and I don't find that good, because it can be misleading - the the arrow point to "from where" the wind comes, but being an arrow, this …

Hello - Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am wondering if there is a solution to this problem: I had purchased the Drzewiecki Design New York Airports and NYC for X-Plane when I dabbled in X-plane 10 back in the day, and today I re-downloaded those files from Simmarket now that it shows XP 11 compatibility. However, once installed this results in an automatic CTD, and in fact, even when I delete the DD NYC files from the custom scenery folder the crashes continue. That said, I had to run the installer in order to clean the X-Plane 11 files back up. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is there a possible solution? Cheers, Pete

Hello All - I just took the plunge and bought the X-Plane 11 Beta, and I have been following the forums for several months now. I have seen several posts regarding freeware addons that are very helpful or even essential in order to take advantage of addons such as the Mister X scenery, etc. Would someone perhaps be willing to post a quick list of what files you would consider necessary and where to find them (x-pilot, x-plane.org, etc.)? Since there have been so many random posts with these files I have never taken an inventory of what to download. I was very happy to see that XP finally has support for multi monitors. I use 5 monitors (or 6 sometimes), so was very keen to setup my main 40" 4K monitor as my front screen, and the two 27" monitors as my side windows. And XP 11 does it very well and so far have not seen a single framerate drop as a result. Very impressive stuff. Sitting on the ground, with TrackIR turned off, it is great. But when I turn on TrackIR it is unusable. All of the monitors are based on the same viewpoint, so they all turn at the same time. I guess it is a bit like VR - it is very unsettling and not workable. My thoughts are that you cannot use TrackIR with multi monitors, at least not in…

Good morning to everyone, In XP-11 the default Cessna 172 SP does not ID the navaids, the default Barron 58 does, but not the Cessna. Does anyone know of a workaround to have the Cessna ID the navaids?

I had such a blast with pb2 but all changed when I upgraded to pb3. The performance drop was around 30% across the board. I tried everything I can, even reinstalled ("updated") pb3 several times. No difference. This is really frustrating. Frankly, if pb3 is my first XP11 beta, I probably gave up on XP11 already. The performance was particularly bad when flying my own Ortho4XP scenery with overlay. In pb2 I got over 20fps with GTX980, flying the same scenery in pb3 with Titan X Pascal I got 10-15fps. Though with Titan X I can set all graphics to max or min, there is virtually no difference in fps: it stays around 10-15. Using MSI Afterburner I can see while f…

I didn't even think I'd mess with X-Plane 11 so early, but after testing a few weeks and seeing many simmers already switched with great results, well, I couldn't resist. Here's the thing. I decided to remove all algorithms dealing with private art controls (atmospheric scattering, fog, autogen, lights ect.) at least for X-Plane 11's Beta run, so everyone gets their hands on the improvements Laminar will or will not include in future betas instantly (there have been discussions in the forum about "messing" with what is essentially a preview version of the next X-Plane, and I agree that at least for published tweaks, they should be "clean").
