Curious if anyone has been monitoring VAS with XP11 with some "moderate" addons running? I believe in one case I spotted online, through using process explorer it appeared that with NYCX at least, memory usage was approaching 15GB.. In my system i currently have 16GB of memory.. contemplating adding 16GB more.. perhaps its just a no brainer, or maybe the one test was a fluke. Curious overall what everyone is finding... i hope to do some testing this weekend on my own system.

Has anybody set a key on the keyboard, to set B.P. as we can by pressing the 'B' key for both FSX and P3D? That certainly would speed things up in flight....

Hi Long time FSX/P3D user, new XP user! Looks like Navdata Pro needs to be updated to work with XP11 however, in order to get some addons working I need a \data\GNS430 folder (lacking or elsewhere in XP11?) Is there any way I can create a pseudo folder to enable 3rd party Nav i.e. Plan-G etc? BTW I have the CRJ-200 which seems to have a NavData db somewhere!? Thansk in advance :smile:

Not phenomena but I don't know what it is, white strip between the sky and horizon in one of the SS's, but which one would cause it. Normal from this view: Abby Normal from this view (25 bonus points if you know the reference) Note the white strip on the horizon:

I am saving the script in the scripts folder under Lua, not in the scripts (disabled) folder. Get a green nil message for two lines. My clouds are still dark.

I understand the enthusiasm of the guys with the programs to make clouds and weather now. I simply chANGED THREE SETTINGS IN xp11 and took away the black clouds, and simply having white clouds (even the simplest) makes me love XP11 and (XP10 too once I mess with it) even more. I am in love with XP, and never thought I'd say that, but I am a new fan.

I just copied over the GNS430 folder (see path above) from XP10 to XP11, and discovered there was no data contained in it. I checked the XP10 location and found the same. I did a search and it appears as though XP10 must have been reading nav data from another location X-Plane 10/Resources) for all of my add ons. I assume that XP11 doesn't offer this option (at least for now), so it's essential to get access to the datasets in the Custom Data\GNS430\Navdata location. My question- where do I get the nav data from to put into Custom Data\GNS430\Navdata? Is this what I can purchase from a 3rd party provider (Navigraph, AeroSoft)? Thanks, Bruce.

Can someone advise me how to bring up the FMC INIT screen in X-Plane 11? All the FMC tutorials start out with hitting that button to initialize new settings. X-Plane has an official video showing the new layout. In the video there are apparently clicks to get there, but no narrative of what was clicked. I'm very excited about the roadmap, xEnviro have up on their website. Some things stand out more than others (for me at least), and these are the ones I think will change the way we look at X-Plane in the near future. Here are what I'm most looking forward to; In the version leading up to 1.1 Cloud textures Cloud representation In the version leading up to 1.2 Cloud volumetrics Visible precipitation volume (could we finally see snow accumulation) The rest of the roadmap includes vatsim, historical, Mac and night environment. Good times ahead...

Is it ok to use some of the Earth nav data scenery for XP 10 in XP 11? There are some areas in Alaska that are not showing up in xp 11 after attempted downloads. Thanks. Jose

Hello, everyone. As of X-Plane 10.50, the global winds are projected using file "global_winds.grib". The file includes u-component and v-component of winds at altitudes 10K and 34K feet. Does anyone know how winds are interpolated between these two altitudes? Something like: y=y1+((x-x1)*((y2-y1)/(x2-x1))) Or there is another algorithm? Are winds extrapolated below 10K and above 34K feet? I also noticed that X-Plane 11 does not include file "winds.rwx" anymore. That file included temperatures at various altitudes. How is temperature at an altitude now projected in X-Plane 11 without this file in US and outside of US? Thank you so much in advance!

Nothing fancy, no height settings none of that, I simply want to replace the dark with white so I can have some white clouds, thank you. Keep it as simple as possible please.

In P3D you can take the main window, turn it into a window.. then expand that to most of the 3 LCD screens then hit alt + enter to maximize to full screen.. ala nvidia surround without the need to enable it.. Is there some way to do this with XP11? Thanks in advance for any suggestions, though i'm guessing this isnt possible.

I installed the full ( not Demo) XP-11 the other day, but somehow managed to install it directly onto my desktop instead of within a folder structure on my desired drive. Don't ask how...but somehow I managed to do it. I thought I had read before that with XP it is OK to simply drag folders and files to new locations, but before I go and mess up the installation, I want to know if there are any issues that I may cause by doing so. Basiclly, I want to create a proper folder for XP-11 on my desired drive, and simply slide all of the contents into that folder. Any thoughts from any one on this?

I never thought this would happen but I've gone and bought x-plame and am loving the way it works in vr now. 64 bit and its inherent stability make this my preferred sim now. No constant tweaking of settings and fewer random CTDs at the end of long flights,sloped runways,fantastic flight dynamics-and a new version with payware quality default aircraft coming soon. Sure,some scenery is basic but in VR you're having to cut details anyway-you can run details at max if you've got the rig for it. ATC is a letdown but I've got radar contact working and it's great! Hi Guys, what is the difference between using Hyperthreading in the Bios and Hyperthreading control in the Nvidia Control Panel. There was a thread awhile back about not using HT at all but not sure if that was 10 or 11 version. Bob

1. When I am flying using the AP on ALT and want to switch to VS the AP automatically goes back to ALT. I have to press VS three or four times before it sticks. 2. Can I set the desired VS before enabling it? As it is now I often climb up first before I go down because VS is at a + number. 3. When I disable ALT and keep HDG or NAV on the plane often won't react to my pitch input. Even when I switch of everything I sometimes can't get down as if the AP is still on. I have to push the stick full forward and trim down completely... This doesn't happen everytime. 4. The ADF radio seems dead? Everyone has this?

I really want to get the DC-3 by Leading Edge but wonder if X-Aviation ever has Christmas sales like Carenado and Just Flight both have going on?

XPX 1.50 on latest Ubuntu LTS ...Saitek Pro pedals. Progressive issue over several weeks... Initially, XPX would lose contact with the pedals during flight. Pull the USB, push it back in, good to go. Transitioned to lose contact, re-set in same port, no-go.....different port, good to go. Transitioned to 'what are these rudder pedal things of which you speak?' on loading XPX. Go into settings, and the rudder pedals don't show. Pull the USB, reseat, and they show up for 5 seconds then blink, gone. There's power to the unit...LED on the pedals is on. Cleaned the USB plug with contact cleaner. No drivers for linux (not surprisingly :-) on Saitek site. Tho…

As an X-Plane convert from FSX/P3D, I'm looking to get involved in a VA that is exclusively for X-Plane. I tend to like VA's that are flexible in when and what you fly as I like shorter flights in smaller aircraft- mostly "low and slow" rather than airliners. Do any long-time X-Plane pilots have any favorites that they can share?
