Does anyone how to disable the wheel. When turning knobs and wheels, a small deviation of the mouse and the panel view increases or decreases. It's not my idea of using the mouse wheel. tony

This looks very nice indeed, wet runways and rain splatters! Tom http://xplanereviews.com/index.php?/forums/topic/541-news-x-plane11-beta-3-is-now-available/#comment-2133

  3. Given the issues we are having with XP11 and HDR + FlyinsideXP.. i'm wondering if there is some way, maybe via dataref or lua script to increase the gamma in XP11.. (to brighten the cockpit at least).. I saw that in XP10 it was a standard setting.. Does anyone know offhand? Thanks in advance edit: i saw these cockpit ones referenced for version 10.. it would be nice to have a setting that did both cockpit and outside, and i'm not even sure if they work in 11

Is it the same as XP10? Can I just copy the folder over and the launcher will automatically redirect?

  5. Started by CFIJose,

I need some help using Planemaker to modify overly sensitive controls. 1) I have some payware airplanes that are way too sensitive in pitch during the most critical part of flight (the flare.) 2) Sometimes when you bring down the flaps, the nose goes down when it should go up slightly. What are the parameters in "Standard/Control Geometry Section" that I should play with? The default version of the c172 in xp 11b3 feels right. The airplane is not overly sensitive at all in all phases of flight. Thanks in advance.

I have just started experimenting with it, but all the gripes about high altitudes looking bad because of a small circle of clouds is funny, depending on your settings you can have a small circle or one where ytou can barely see the edges. This is in the F-4 at 39,000', with three different settings, with the max view of 100 miles set in XP11, I'd imagine by turning back the distance of visibility you can see less of an edge of the clouds. It's not perfect, but with the largest setting I find it hard to believe there is just no immersion as I can see some edges here and there but this is a pretty full set of clouds here. Now I will work on maximizing the ra…

  8. Just curious if there is any benefit to any tweaks in NI aside from Thread Optimization, which I didn't find that useful. That is, I am having a hard time telling whether setting SGSS in NI has any impact in xp11, thinking not due to open gl? Thanks in advance

XP 11 apparently records the current flight for playback purposes. Does that have an impact on performance and fps and, if so, can the record feature be turned off? Slap me gently .... This is a whole new World.....

  11. Still in my infancy in terms of getting familiar with XP in general and XP11 from p3d.. i spotted PAWD freeware.. one of the requirement links wasnt working.. so i'm wondering if i need to have all the requirements installed in v11 or not.. Another requirement was HD Mesh v3.. but it lists for xp10.. or do i assume it just works fine in v11. Anyone using it and know off hand what steps it took to install? Thanks in advance

  12. Started by theskyisthelimit,

I just wanted to ask generically if this exists with XP11 like it does with P3D.. in my short testing of XP11.. i'm really not seeing ground shadows from clouds, or maybe i'm just not noticing it (scenery shadows are checked).. Does this currently exist in the beta, just seeking confirmation.. Thanks in advance

  14. Hello AVSIMmers, I am here again because I need help on X-Plane 11, I'm completely new to it and it would be nice if I could have some assistance on it. My question is: How do I turn on the cockpit lights in the Default Boeing 737-800 in X-Plane 11 (not v10)? You see, I need to see where things are and in FSX lights illuminate the cockpit when it is dark because I can't see anything exept the glowing buttons. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks

  15. I've noted this with the B757 v2 and the x737-800, and am wondering if I'm just having bad flying coincidences or there's something different about these aircraft when operated in XP11? Thanks, Bruce.

  16. A member posted how to do this in xp 11's menu, but I can't locate the thread. Thanks.

Videos like this make me swallow back what I sometimes say / write about X-Plane... and... just to thinks it is AI piloting! X-Plane has these extremes of tremendous realism, contrasting with not so good aspects, but heck, it's great when we look at it through the right prism... http://www.avsim.com/topic/499800-x-plane-11-ai-crosswind-landings-and-takeoffs/

Going from a Titan X to a Titan X Pascal, my expectations were low ... but pleasantly surprised to see a good increase in FPS and fewer long frames ... at my same test location/scenario went from 19 FPS forTitan X to 28 FPS for Titan X Pascal ... I guess it's true that Pascal does seem to work well with OpenGL. Cheers, Rob.

  19. Still a bit of a newbie with XP10/11.. now fully using XP11.. Maybe i'm missing something, but is there a way to launch .sit files from windows explorer like you can with p3d saved flights? If I try to set XP to be the app that opens them, it doesnt load the situation.. Thanks in advance

  21. There is a scripts folder and a scripts (disabled) folder in the Lua folder, do I use the scripts foler? That is wehat I've been doing, get a green line in the sim saying something is nil, and my clouds stay dark.

It seems to be easy as long as you're not developing for a flight sim... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Slx9ISHOkyo https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnvBF5Nu5gw I wish Austin would grab some dollars and plug one of those in XP11.

  23. My great friend Zulfi, from Bombay, with whom we share this passion for aviation and flight simulation as a way to keep us as close to it as life allows, and who also is a fan of one of my two preferred flightsims ever ( DCS and IL.2 ), pointed me to this extraordinary post at the ED forums, following the release, this weekend, of the Spitfire Mk IX module for DSC World... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179253 Why do I bring this here ? Well, because 99% of the posts and focus of attention on X-Plane is directed towards the looks. Everybody discusses how the skies look, the shadows and the glowing fuselages in XP11, and there's even one guy who is worrie…

  24. After a tile has been created it appears the ortho texture files are kept in two places inside the Ortho4xp folder: a folder called orthophotos and also within in the tiles folder. For sake of hard drive space, once the tile has been created, can I then delete the large texture files from the orthophotos folder? The scenery folders within the tiles folder are what is linked to custom scenery so I would presume you could unless I am missing something.
