After reinstalling Win 10 I downloaded and installed X Plane 11 which I purchased about 2 weeks ago so new to this platform although I have been with FS9 and FSX for many years. I set myself up with a flight and was able to customise my weather but, after doing a couple of flights I found that I could no longer access customize weather, all I can do is use the slider below but not able to change wind direction, height of clouds etc. When I put my curser over the icon and press my mouse button nothing happens. Addon scenery via FTX Central 3 were 3 freeware airports - Hamar Stafsberg - Orsta-Volda Airport and Oceano Airport. The only anomaly that I found was …

May I ask whether I should just overwrite the current files leaving the tiles folder alone or is there a better way? George

Hi folks, I’m just starting my XP11 journey, loving it so far 🙂 but last night I installed the HD mesh v4 for most of Europe and X-Europe. I beleive I have he scenery.ini in the correct order, ie. X-europe and mesh down the bottom, but in now seem to have no airport buildings at Gatwick. I first had a look at LOWI ad noticed no buildings so looked at the ini to find the mesh at the top, so moved to the bottom and saved, ten fired up again. Problem was sorted in LOWI, but not EGKK. Any thoughts?

Hi, I've been experimenting a little bit with the XP11 shaders. Unlike using external tools like SweetFx or similar, which intercept the OpenGL rendering prior display and add a lot of 'plumbing' behind the scene, I've decided to just alter the stock XP11 shaders a little bit. The neat effect is that one of the enhancements below comes for free, the other advantage is that this works on Window, Mac and Linux! This also works in VR mode! I'm in a dawn flight right now, and in light of how many features I have at full render, in how many add-on's I am running, Ortho4XP with all the rendering/compiling features enabled in the custom ini. file, with added (x2) road traffic add-on's, with a custom weather engine, ReShade (the latest non-crashing version), all of it...and yet, I can now very much stay at 30 FPS, no matter what terrain, what weather metrics...XP 11.20 (latest full release) is the ticket, now. Just downloaded the latest version of the Eclipse 550 and the GTN 750 does not seem to work. No nearest airports are listed and the map shows nothing. Is there a fix for this?

Whatever aircraft I chose to fly with I seem to be always needing to adjust the elevator trim and aileron trim for level flight. I adjust the trim one 'click' then manually level the aircraft (using joystick) and after a few minutes I need to adjust again sometimes in the opposite 'direction'. I wouldn't have thought that flying a real aircraft would require constantly adjusting the trim to achieve level flight. Also occasionally when I start up X-Plane I am prompted to insert disk one which I do and then see a message to advise update has taken place. Is this normal? Is there anyway I can set up X-Plane so that it 'remembers' that it has been 'registered'? …

Hello, As a return user of XP-11, Started with X-10 and left, I am totally impressed with this sim right out of the box. Coming over from P3D all editions, from FSX all editions, I cannot get over the looks and performance of XP-11. A short time ago, I read a post in this section asking of suggestions for GA aircraft of the faster type. That led me to the G-1000 by Aerobask and I could not be happier with this prop plane. I would like some suggestions by the community for a business type jet with at least the quality of the G-1000. Any good payware GA aircraft that use the default G1000?

Good morning. I'm experiencing a strange phenomenon when flying long haul. I usually start at a detailed airport, such as Frankfurt (Germany) and have about 23-25 fps. While flying, the frames drop permanently to as low as 14 fps. That takes place over a longer period of time and I've no clue for which reason they do so. At the moment, I'm enroute from EDDF to KATL on VMAX767. After about 5 hours of flight, my fps gradually went down to 15fps. I restarted my Xplane (only the software) and changed nothing. I installed WED 1.6 a few days ago so I could hopefully update an airport that I visit sometimes. The airport is KJKA Jack Edwards in Alabama and the last time I had checked in the sim, it was not very much decorated/updated. So I installed WED and followed the first few setup videos. I followed the instructions to import airport.dat and pick my airport and I spent some time trying to familiarize myself with basic WED buttons/functions/tools/controls. After feeling like I was starting to see how to proceed, I wanted to see how what I saw in WED looked in the sim because I didn't remember so many taxiways and parking spaces. Hi, I use PILOT2ATC as flightplanner and it's great. But when I want to export my FP into the plane's FMC, I get a .fms extension. I believe X-PLANE 11 (which I use) only accepts .flp extensions. So, I get these types of messages on the FMC (for example) LFMT-LFMN.fms: and when I want to load it, it says: "error loading route" "see logfile" How could I do to get my FP correctly imported and usable in theT7? I play X-Plane on occasion and I never managed to taxi correctly without using overlay arrows that show exactly where to go. How do pilots manage to read taxiing signs quickly enough IRL and not get confused / lost? I have to zoom in quite a lot to even read the signs, especially from a plane like 737.

Hello everyone, I'm working in WED to work over a friend of mines airport (grass) trying to make it look as close as possible to his. He has a nice pond just to the right of the grass field. Has anyone every tried to make a pond or something that looks close using WED? Thanks.

Does it include GA (General Aviation), Military or anything besides Air Carrier? I've searched multiple videos w/ B737, A320, etc, and none of the aforementioned aircraft.

There is a long standing issue i have had (and i think others) that if you have the xJet plugin enabled, which is needed for KAWO to work.. many aircraft constantly reprompt for activation.. IE: most Just Flight aircrafts.. such as the PA28 arrow/ warrior etc.. Has anyone found a workaround short of disabling xJet as of yet.. or for that matter.. anyone else also ran into this? Thanks in advance

Hello guys, does anybody have this problem with Reshade? I've just installed and set it up. It works but I can not normally exit XP11 anymore, it just locks up. Is there a fix for this? Thanks

Hello all, I am new to X-Plane and I'm still getting my head around the sim. So far I am very impressed with what X-Plane 11 has to offer out of the box. I am, however disappointed at the way variable winds are interpreted by the sim. For example, on final at EHAM today in the Flight Factor 757 using default real weather, the wind direction changes constantly in excess of 30 degrees causing the aircraft to yaw to a degree I consider unrealistic. Is there some way to 'dampen' these winds? Maybe a flywithlua script that I haven't heard of? I have tried X-Enviro but find it too buggy in it's current state and the performance isn't great on my system either. It's a…

Hello fellow flight simmers! I have been watching this real world UK pilot's video where he shows his company procedures on a flight in a 737 from the EGCC to LEPA. Not sure where I found the link but though that I would post here for you all to see. He also does Prepar3D video's showing various other procedures. My Xplane11 performance was always good, but I noticed with the 11.20 beta on up, my performance around sophisticated 3D airports improved, like my add-on San Francisco freeware scenery which has a highly detailed SFO airport complete with a moving peoplemover system. So something somewhere got pleasantly changed, do not know what since I have not and do not normally fiddle with my graphics settings, which I keep maxed except for a slightly lower AA setting, which I prefer. It is only safe to say it here, but I am preferring Xplane11 over P3DV4 more and more, every day, complete with my payware Eclipse and Velocity RG add-ons. John

I just spent the last 36 hours trying to install and convert textures for Arizona Ortho scenery. Now XP11.2 won't start at all. I tried removing the two folders; yOrtho4XP_Overlays, and Arizona_2015_1m. And nothing changed. I get a CTD. I followed the directions exactly as stated in the instructions on the forum. So, screw it. Installing this complicated thing is over my head. Should have left well-enough alone. So how do I reverse all of what I just did so i can return to my default scenery so I have a flight sim again? I assume I am just going to have re-install X-Plane.
