Hello there, I'm not using X-Plane yet, so I cannot test it on my rig for the app that I'm working on now. But can you guys please explain: 1. Is there a default flight plans location in X-Plane (like a single folder for FSX flight plans in C:\Users\{username}\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files)? 2. I've read somewhere that X-Plane can store flight plans made with FMC in aircraft-specific folders. Is this true? If so, it means that the possibilities are endless depending on different aircraft equipped with FMC. In this case default location will be enough to know for now. Thank you!

I posted this on another site, but there aren't as many people there as there are here. Basically I'm slightly annoyed with some features of FSX:SE, I think because it's not kept up to date. I was wondering if I should be using xplane instead? Nearly all my life I've used the MS version and loved it, but now I feel it's well out of date. I have never used xplane. Does it have things like atc? I can see some great addons for sale, but weather and atc are important for me. Also, is there something like Ultimate Traffic for xplane, so that it looks more real, and there's real AI feature? My basic query is, what's in one product that isn't in the other? Than…

I keep receiving that message when trying to install many of tdg’s sceneries. The message states “there was a problem loading the scenery package, Custom Scenery/LIMJ xp11 tdg/ The scenery may not look correct” X-Plane then precedes to load in default scenery. I have downloaded everything listed on the tdg download as well as opensceneryx etc.

They have something cooking there for sure... I know it's a delicate topic, considering the fact they keep on showing us the next big thing and don't care the actual release (1.09) is a buggy mess for the most part. But you can't deny their target is very ambitious.

Hello, I am looking for a good alternative to the Carenado C340 II HD for X-Plane 11. After having purchased it recently, I just ditched it. I cannot get the autopilot popup to show. There is no documentation about how to use the plane. I spent hours searching the web for a solution. Found out that there is a C/O/A menu that can be popped up on the screen, but it is not visible on the instrument panel. This is the first and the last plane for X-Plane that I purchased from Carenado. These guys are excellent design artists but without brain... The plane that I am looking for is a small to medium GA twin. Thanks Jean-Jacques

Long time FSX/P3D user. I had X-Plane years ago back when I was getting my PPL and, at the time, found its flight controls to be overdone...but that was then. These questions aren't meant to be a criticism and I absolutely do not want to be critical of either sim so I'm asking people that fly both: What does each do better? How is the flight dynamics of X-Plane? Does it have realistic air movement? What add-ons are essential and what do you use in X-Plane? So, one of the recent updates has bought me this awful FSX style jagged glitchy night lighting textures built into the ground, honestly makes me feel unwell looking at it coming into land, it’s way too bright, too yellow, too disgusting literally it looks worse than FSX right now - is there anyway to either get it looking not so awful, or a way to remove it all together - it honestly looks like default FSX right now. I have come to understand it must be a new update to add extended night lighting but honestly it’s awful for me — it also disappears when I’m above a cloud and can see the ground, the horrible light texture goes away

This is just my opinion, I have been away for a few months. I am really frustrated with the lack of ATC support with World Traffic in X-Plane 11. X-Plane 11 has had a long development cycle and the basic core 101 flight sim requirement is not met. I am now considering switching back to P3D or even FSX. Although the ATC in FSX is not perfect, it does a reasonable job with controlling traffic and setting you up on approaches, etc. People are buying World Traffic and the A/C are not under ATC control. What is the point? I do like the realism and the fact X-Plane 11 supports multi-monitor configurations a lot better (FSX is too stretchy and it doesn't do a good job)…

I've seen articles on Avsim talking about it coming out, but I still haven't seen it. Is FlightFactor still working on it? Have they given up on the project for the A320? Thanks, Goose

Flown first 2 flights with it and here are my observations: -The long pause is an absolute killer; tbh I've had to set it manual and then not change it again during the flight as it takes so long (I've got a decent i7, SSD and 1080TI and still takes a while/ freezes the sim if I click or do anything) -Missing Spring - I read what you wrote above but I feel if its an addon advertising 'seasons' then it should be in there; also not all winter is snow so should also have a winter with darker textures, barren trees and so on. Hello, I fancy a go at X Plane but Amazon shows a single DVD box and the description says DVD ROM. I want the global scenery on DVD. Are there 2 versions or is their description poor? Thanks.

Whenever I'm in the mood to play it, I find good reasons to enjoy, even the most little but sometimes important details... With my only two airliners in XP11, the Tooliss A319 and the FF A320 U, I started using that great plugin "Better Pushback", but I installed it initially under the Global Resources folder, thus making it available for any session... Moved it inside the "plugins" folders of those two airliners et voilà - it's only active when it makes sense, which is when I am playing being an Airbus captain 🙂 Could it be simpler / cleaner ?

Guys, Can anyone help me with the frame rate for x-plane 11? I was running 30-40 FPS, now I'm down to 12 FPS. I tried everything, even contacted Laminar to no avail. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Hi! I have searched for this, but haven't found a satisfactory answer... I would love to use X-Plane 11 more, but I can't figure out how to adjust the cockpit shadows so that I can actually see my panels through them! I found references to adjusting the Gamma in XP10, but nothing about XP11. I can't possibly be the only one with this problem, but I can't find a mention of it. Can anyone shed a little light (pun intended!) on this subject?? Thanks! Russ

The fun I'm having flyingthe Dreamfoil Bell 407 is just bubbling up, and so I thought I'd let it spill over here. I don't think I'll ever go back to flying fixed wings. And I think it's the beauty of XP scenery at low altitudes that makes it so cool. I've created the three bridges near my home airport, and with OrthoXP and perfectly placed buildings ,.. well, you know what I mean. I;ve mastered hovering pretty well, so much so that my mind (simple as it is) now seems to have been fooled into thinking I can actually feel the aircraft under me in a hover. Now, where did I put that building with the rooftop landing pad? Anyway, just sayin' JTW…

I was hoping I could get some assistance trying to understand the correct procedure for entering data into the FMS from the flight plan (simbrief). There is a section in the Flight Plan Log which specifies Ground Speed and TAS over waypoints. I am not exactly sure what these mean, they seem quite high? Are they in KM/Hour instead of Knots? Do I need to enter this data into the FMS ? The FMS appears to calculate the speed automatically, but I presume there needs to be some alignment between the FMS and the flight plan, otherwise none of the timings / TOD would match. Does the FMS just try and work it all out based on the weather, or do I need to copy in the…

I puchased my copy of steam from Amazon not from steam. steam have total control over your software do people realise the very big down side to going the steam rout, first unless you have a fiber Internet the download can take up to 15 hours on disc about 2 hours the up to 7 hours for updates. give me the disc any day. the other big problem if steam goes down good by flight sim X I can't understand why any one would pay good money for a program you don't own some times I like to fly of line see how far you get when steam control your software, finally if your Internet is down find somthing else to do why would any one not want to buy the discs costing a few…

Hi Guys. I'm trying to get things set up correctly with aircraft and now using real weather. Downloaded real weather earlier and used the Alabeo Diamond DA40 and X Plane 10. On the ramp I'll get off the brakes to taxi but the aircraft doesn't want to turn left or right and when it does and I turn it again it stops...like putting on the brakes. I'll try to get going straight before I turn but even that's difficult. Not only that but when I do get going...sometimes I'll get spun around almost 90 degrees while I'm still trying to taxi on the ramp...then I'll start rolling again and I'll turn left or right and the plane all of a sudden stops moving.
