Hello folks! I'm wondering, has something changed in XP11 night lighting? I've switched between P3d and XP for a few years now and I haven't flown XP since maybe 11.1, I'm noticing it seems night lighting seems different. There used to be this almost like HDR haze at night from the street lights which seems toned down a bit or almost nonexistent. Also noticed it seems there is some distant lighting at cruise alt now which I never noticed before which is nice. My biggest XP complaint was the popping of ground lighting at night. Although the current implementation seemed to be blurry to me and maybe a bit generic looking its a step in the right direction. …

I figure my problem is some sort of scenery issue, so I'll post it here first. There's this little airstrip just east of Juneau (7AK2-Snettisham) that has a gravel strip. It's owned by the utility company, which has a hydroelectric plant up in the mountains. The thing is, when I land on Runway 33 and taxi toward the other end... BANG, the plane hits what appears to be an invisible brick wall and crashes just before reaching the end. I thought perhaps it was something my WED custom version was causing. So, on some planes in xplane 11 videos, I saw that the reflections on the underbelly of the aircraft are laggy - they are 2 fps - how do you make them higher frame rate, because it ruins the whole realism for me

So I was looking through those super realistic videos, and found this. Apart from the window, or whatever that is, it look really good. He must be using aerosoft eddf. But those trees look amazing! I want to know which add-on he used. I suspect it's the "enriched autogen" add-on but I'm not sure

Anyone no what is the best source on the OrthoXP tile source for Norway. I tried Bing but so many of the tiles were terrible. Not just clouds but the tiles were all cut up with different source images. I just got done deleting several of them since default is better then that. Thanks

Hi, just getting back into FSim after a 5 year lay-off. Loaded up FSX and remembered why I hate it (maybe I dont have enuff disc space at 120gb ?). Anyway I stripped it out and reloaded FS9 which the rig runs very competently at ultra settings. I just bought X plane 11 and want to try it. Obviously I need to add a hard-drive as my present drive is just an SSD 850 Evo 120gb ATA. If I want to try FSX again and XP 11 - do I need to buy one drive for each ? Or just the one ? what size and what speed should I get ? I have two cards which will give me the best performance Geforce GTX 970 or a Radeon Rx470 ? i5 4670 3.4Ghz, 120gb HD, 4.00 GB ram Windows …

I have been creating scenery and using Ortho and have what be a silly question. I have the continental US done at 16. Now I am going back and doing major cities that I fly frequently at 19. All is great except, the default trees drive me nuts! I don't think that Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City has trees on the 30 yard line. And I know that many building in Southern California don't all have roof top forest. The only two solutions I see are: 1. turn down graphic settings to low or minimal (that is unacceptable as I lose my night lighting and cars) or: 2. Use WED to create exclusion zones area the metro areas? Anyone else have a different idea? Thanks in advance.

I am using air manager for my Garmin 530 in the Cessna 172 in x-plane 11 on a touch screen monitor to control. I have the Garmin popped out on my touch screen and all is ok, but when I get the overlay of the same GPS from Air Manager and placing it over the GPS I am getting a white screen no Map at all but I can here the clicks only when I press knobs on the overlay . Any idea how to get the screen of the overlay from while to show the GPS map Thanks Amr Guindy

I'm using a Saitek X52, flying the Dreamfoil B407. Which axis/button can be used best for 'collective'?

Does the visual glide slopes work in X-Plane 11..20VR5? I see four white only lights at the end of the runway and they never change color or do anything no matter how high/low I fly them, The runway REIL lights do blink OK if installed. Also the Rabbits (lead in lights do not sequence either. They shine but that is all. Do I have to activate something in the program to get the above light to work correctly? Anyone else experiencing this problem too? Terry

Hello, I have XP11's g1000 - related crash zooming it in/out in California with Ortho4XP/HD Mesh v4. This is consistent, I tried it with US Ortho4XP project, I did Ortho4XP scenery/overlays myself - G1000 always crashes in California. Interesting, but in UK (say around EGLL) g1000 works always fine with Ortho4XP scenery / HD mesh v4. Did anybody observed this with Ortho4XP? Thanks.

I am interested in purchasing the new Reality XP Garmin GTN 650 for X-Plane 11, but I am a little concerned about the installation process. Could somebody briefly describe how the GTN 650 installation process works? Is the documentation that comes with the software adequate even for people that do not have much experience in this type of issues? Also, could the Reality XP Garmin GTN 650 be installed on more than one of the aircrafts available in X-Plane 11? Thanks

Okay, short story time - but first a little context. I've flown MS-based flight sims since I started, and if you disregard combat sims and a brief interlude with the first version of Fly! (which I loved), I've been exclusively invested in that family. From subLOGIC's FSII on my C64, to subLOGIC's ATP and Flight Lite, and then MSFS4, 5, 5.1, 95, 98, 2000, 2004, FSX, and FSX:SE, I've owned them all. I always viewed X-Plane as a "second-class citizen". Bought XP10 on a lark on Steam and put a few minutes into it and never went any farther. Hi, How do you skip a waypoint in the autopilot that come default in the FJS 737, often the plane just crcle a few times around the airport before it then start following the flightplan and goes to the next waypoint. That same autopilot system is in the Carenado B1900 and DO228, but also in thse there is the GPS which I can just use to go the next waypoint instead of circling around the airport Thank you in advance

I purchased this over the weekend and loved it right up until I had to land it. My first landing rate was 700FPM and the lowest I have been able to achieve is 400 and that is rare. I have read others have had similar issues due to the autopilot once disconnected just before landing, it is like trying to land a drunk plane. Does anyone know of a mod or tweak that can calm this plane down once you disconnect the AP, and unlike the other versions I have flown, once you touch the controls the autopilot says "I'm out!" Oscillations are not realistic!

If I purchase the Reality GTN 750 for X Plane and install it will it appear in the Cessna panel or only as a pop up?

Hi everyone , in P3d I use monoscopic view to increase the framerate. With great results. It is less immersive but I enjoy it though. Is that possible in Xplane vis ste amvr or Oculus settings? Thanks!! Jozeff
