I have recently installed X-Plane 10 having used FSX for many years. I am undergoing a steep learning curve especially with which (keyboard) keys do what. I am happy with X-Plane 10 although it seems to take a long time in loading even though it is installed on an SSD drive - is that normal? Also when loading it initially displays that it is loading the 737.acf file and later after loading scenery files it appears to load other aircraft .acf files. Is this normal? For what reason? Hello I am new to X-Plane and having difficulty with some things. I cannot work out how to assign keys to particular functions such as "FMS/key_load". I read a article which describes how to use flight plans and in it the author advises to "Define a key referring to FMS/key_load". I have only found "FMS/key_load" in Settings/Joystick and Equipment and the "advanced buttons tab". It is not listed if I select the "Keys" tab. Would someone advise how to assign a key to Define a key referring to "FMS/key_load" Thanks

I just recently purchased this product from http://store.x-plane.org/ and after purchasing it I installed in my X-Plane 11 folder but I am not seeing anything after installing it, and there's no instruction on doing anything differently than you usually do to install a payware product into X-Plane 11, so can someone show me the correct way or I should get my money back for buying a defective software package.

Since moving from P3D to X-Plane 11, I have not yet decided which Airbus to purchase. Since I already have purchase GA and Boeing aircraft’s it is time for me to purchase an Airbus product. But I am confused to what to get. I have been looking at different YouTube videos on the FF A320 Ultimate, Toliss A319 and recently the JarDesign A330 v3. The FF A320 Ultimate as everything but the kitchen sink, however the price is very expensive. The Toliss A319, look interesting but it appears to have a so-so 3D cockpit and the price is a bit expensive. So, I had x plane 11 on my laptop: CPU: 1.8 GHz RAM: 8gb 750gb HDD And I just switched it over to my desktop: CPU: 3.8 GHz RAM: 8gb 1tb HDD, newly formatted and a brand new install of windows 10 * My desktop does not have an upgraded graphics card nor does my laptop * All settings are on minimum I have not run any tests on my desktop yet to see the usage of the cpu and other items. In FSX there was the ability to invoke a visual display of the glidescope when practising landing. This was very useful in making sure you were correctly aligned to the runway. I have tried the 3nm and 10 nm approach options in x-plane but I am having great difficulty, especially with the 10nm option, to locate the airport correctly. I believe that it's possible to toggle the flight path in x-plane with successive control-p clicks once the correct ils frequency is set in nav 1 but this doesn't seem to be the same thing or I am doing something wrong. I have a X-Plane 10 No matter which aircraft I use they all either veer to the left or right during taxi and takeoff requiring opposite movement of joystick to correct. At first I wondered was it due to torque effect as I was using the Cessna 172 (single engine prop which veered to the left) but even selecting a twin engined prop or even multi engined jet aircraft they too veered (to the right not left as with the Cessna). I checked the wind setting thinking that perhaps it was caused by cross wind but the wind setting was 0 knots. I have set up my joystick and centered and clocked on the "center joystick and click here" What could be causing this…

How do you turn on/off lights in the 172. When I zoom to the lights, I can not get to the switches to click on or off. I know it must be simple, just not to me. Thanks

During an investigation of problems I encountered with the BENDIX/KING HOL Display readouts, I discovered the following: When I clicked the "DME" button on the audio selection panel, I heard in morse code the ID "AFI". At that time I was doing a test flight in Belgium, near the city of Liège (EBLG). I started Navigraph Charts Desktop app and searched for the ID "AFI". The Navrigraph app told me that this ID belongs to a VOR-DME station at the city of "Affligem", Belgium, some 60 nm north of the city of Liège (if I remember well the direction). Just transitioned to XP11 a couple of weeks ago, from Microsoft FS since its very 1st edition by Bruce Artwick’s in 1977. Without any add-ones (yet, except for X Camera, which is another story), I find XP11 most definitely better than default FSX . . a 32 bit sim is no comparison to a 64 bit sim. But I’ll get to the point of this post. Regarding the default XP11 B-737 and 747, I noticed that on a cruise with or without autopilot on, the plane would suddenly but momentarily, pitch up on it’s own as if it were trimming itself up from level flight. I have XP11 v1.10 & am not sure if that is the latest version of the orthodox XP11, (Non-Beta). Also, I can't find Updater to check. I read a guide that said go to the "About" button at the top of the screen in an opened XP11, but I don't see that button. Could someone advise me about the latest version & where Updater is located? I've taken another serious look at XPlane - as I have done year on year (for many years). For the first time this year, I am seriously considering a move to Xplane - for GA flying only though. I have watched Q8 Pilot's brilliant XPlane series of videos - Osamah deserves an award, because he truly has sold that sim to me. He showcases products and the sim in a very unbiased fashion - I love his work. I have never seen xplane look that good ever - and that horrible brown sepia filtered look of xplane has finally vanished. That aside. I'm convinced that GA is the way to go for xplane. Couple of questions about the how to's: 1) What is the best way to switch fuel tanks at altitude? I did that last night at or around 12,000'MSL to where I had leaned the fuel to 12gph but after switching tanks I flooded the engine. How does one go about preventing that from happening? 2) Since adding REP, I've lost the ability to use some of my assigned GoFlight and other controllers to turn things on and off. After years of using FSX without significant problems I upgraded to a Windows 10 desktop and X plane 11 a few months ago. The CPU is Intel(r) Core (TM) i3- 6098P @3.6GHz & 8.0GB of RAM. The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TI. Xplane runs at 30- 37 fps with CPU running at 0.26 and GPU running at 0.15. In real life I have flown about 300 hours split between Chipmunks and PA 38 Tomahawk mainly. With grahics settings at medium or low in Xplane 11 at 1,000 ft, or less, these (and the default 172) aircraft are very unstable as if in very turbulent conditions and are impossible to fly accurately. At altitudes about 3,000ft flight becomes more stable. …

I notice that Carenado have converted the Do228 over to X-Plane now and that it was released a short time ago. There only seems to be 1 video of it on Youtube, so pretty hard to get a good idea of it. Has any one here tried it out? It seems a nice plane to fly on FSE, and it looks good, but am somewhat wary of buying Carenado aircraft, so would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Hello guys. I currently use P3Dv4 and XP11. Does anyone know an add on like Pro ATC for Xplane 11. I am new and learning and would like an add on that features a virtual co pilot to help me with checklists flaps radio lights etc. I thought I'd ask here in case anyone knows . Would be a great help. Hopefully I'll get it all down soon but for now I would like something that could help with all that. Thanks guys. Happy flying.
