Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. Hello everybody Merry Christmas and a happy, Covid-free new year! I bought a Thustmaster Hotas One at black friday sale. I plugged it in, installed the firmware, set all the buttons and axis – everything worked fine. Until I turned off my computer. When I resarted it, the joystick was dead. I had to unplug & plug again – bing – everything worked again. It is like that now all the time: I always have to unplug & replug. Good for my fitness, bad for my nerves 😉 How can I install the device for good? Regards Michael

I feel that it takes a very long time to turn any knob with my scroll wheel. Is there a way to get that to recognize it quicker? I had to take off from a south facing runway and make an immediate turn to 280 and it took forever for me to scroll from 160 to 280. Is there a way to change that?

  3. Hi everyone, I find myself in the fortunate situation to have some disposable funds coming to me that I'm going to use to upgrade my flightsim hardware. I plan to buy a nice yoke and possibly a new set of rudder pedals. I also plan to buy a proper throttle quadrant and have 99% settled on the VirtualFly TQ6 as I haven't found anything to sway me from that. I sim in P3D primarily but also dabble in X-Plane and DCS. I'm currently using a Warthog HOTAS/Throttle and MFG Crosswind pedals. I would continue to use the Warthog HOTAS for DCS, and for aircraft in P3D X-Plane that use a stick rather than Yoke (ie FSLabs Airbus). I primarily fly airliners. I do fly some…

  5. Good day. Can someone please advise. I have FS Steam Edition. Windows 10 . Using the latest Xbox One S controller and for the life of me cannot get the right view stick to work. I have tried calibrating it with no luck. Rudders and Ailerons, Elevators work, just not the right view stick and nor am I able to calibrate special functions on the controller buttons ABXY. Anyone experience this before? Thank you for your time. PS I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, new here :)

Anyone know of a support forum for the Honeycomb Yoke. Got mine yesterday...No documentation on button mapping and it isn't intuitive IMHO. I've resorted to FSUIPC offsets to assign functions. Also, what the heck are those 6 tiny rubber caps for. The sparse documentation that comes with the yoke doesn't say and the Honeycomb people are all at a flight sim convention and unavailable for support questions. And why are the last three positions on the starter switch not being recognized as buttons by FSUIPC or the Windows 10 Game Controller Settings (though they are in the Honeycomb settings app)?

Treated myself to one of these as an early Xmas pressie, after being very impressed by the performance of my new Fulcrum One yoke by @tutmeister. hope I didn’t pull the trigger too prematurely, are they any good? Hoping to see as much improvement over my old hotas x as with the Fulcrum over the CH Yoke…..

Hoping for some help... I got my BK2 yesterday. Hooked it all up this morning. In my race sim I use simhub but for FS I am not finding it as plug and play. I've seen some say they have it running without any software, how do you get it to work without any software? One sound card or two? How is your BK plugged in, headphones or line out? Anything special in P3D or MSFS? For those with Opus I am finding it a bit meh if I am honest. Just playing with the settings a bit but wanted much more of a ground roll/gear effect. I like the subtle engine vibrations, flaps are way overdone, does anyone have a profile for a 777/787 for example. I also don't like…

I would like to use a usb switch to keep my yoke and joystick connected to a single port on my computer so that I don't have to physically switch usb cables when I change from a yoke plane to a stick plane. Can this be done with a simple type A USB A/B switch? If so, will I need to provide a 5v power source to the switch?

Hi everyone. I have a Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle Quadrant. But I would like to purchase a joystick for flying planes that use them. Having never owned one before, I am wondering if you can make suggestions for a good quality all-around joystick that will work with lots of different types of planes that use them. Thanks, Rob

When I look at YouTube videos showing various yokes being calibrated in MSFS, I never see anyone calibrating them using the windows software first. It used to be the norm in the olden days - is it still recommended, or has the Flight sim software made it unnecessary? Eugene

Hi, I've MSFS installed on both a PC and Xbox. For the PC I have yoke, medals and throttle set and would rather not have to buy a whole new set of hardware for my Xbox setup. Has anyone created an interface which would allow PC peripherals to be used on Xbox? Huge gap in the market for this if not, unless there's some reason why it couldn't be done.

  13. Hello, I am having an issue setting up my tiller axis in p3d. The twist axis that controls the tiller shows rapid movement even when the joystick is still. This causes my rudders to constantly move as well as a sharp turn to the right if I let go of the tiller when taxiing. This is making calibration difficult as the axis is never completely centered.

I just ordered this CDU. Looks like the only support is for PMDG Boeing 737/777/747. But seeing as the MD-80 is very similar, I'm wondering if anybody has a profile to enable the CDU to work in p3d with the Leonardo Maddog? Not sure if Spad Next would do it, or something like that. Thanks.

I have been using CH products for many years with few problems. About three years ago, I had to replace my CH Rudder Pedals because the old set (in service for about 10 years) decided to stop working properly. I think one of the control modules on the circuit board malfunctioned. I bought a new set which have functioned properly until recently. I started to notice that I had lost directional control on landing and couldn't hold direction during the takeoff roll. Viewing the aircraft from the rear and moving the rudder pedals, I see that I get full left rudder, the rudder at rest is slightly left and full right rudder only produces a slight right rudder. I control all…

  16. Hello! I have my TFRP Rudder pedals bought a while ago and they always worked without any problem. Today I wanted to start a flight and suddenly they not centering the ingame rudders anymore. Hardware is moving like every time before, but when I give full right rudder they move the ingame rudder pedal in the right direction. When I give full left rudder they go haywire and dont move the rudder in the right direction. It feels as if the 0 point is gone to the right. I use FSUIPC in P3Dv4 and it also will not recognize left rudder. Also the device manager is showing a wrong center point.... tried to plug in and out 100 times, used other USB ports, removed it from …

  17. I'll preface this and say I'm not typically one to come online and rant about a bunch of different products. For full transparency, I've been extremely happy with my Honeycomb products until recently. I was one of the first pre-orders for both the Alpha and the Bravo. Early last month, I reached out to Honeycomb because the reverse thrust on my Bravo stopped working for the #2 lever. I called their customer service and spoke with a gentleman who was very easy to talk to and walked me through some basic troubleshooting steps. He agreed that the Bravo unit was defective and admitted there have been some challenges with the original batches and wires detaching (See video of …

Asked before, what happened to the TM joystick/throttle combo that was said to be coming when the Boeing yoke/throttle was announced a while back ?

  19. Hello, I recently purchased Spad next because the saitek plug in did not work well (CTDs). Spad next works fine but the default profile for the radio panel shows the barometric pressure in mb. I would like it in.hg. I have noticed that two online snippets are available in order to display pressure in hg. If I use one of them, how will I be able to revert to the pressure in mb since there is no snippet for mb? THX

  20. Neat little question came up about using the Radio Knobs to control the PFD FMS Knob on the NXi... Since we don't need the DME page to use the Dual Concentric Knob... seemed like another great tweak to the Radio panel!!

Hi everyone, I just bought the Logitech Saitek Multi Panel and have started using it. Weirdly enough, when I use it with the a32nx by Fly-By-Wire, the screen isn't fully able to show the values displayed on the virtual cabin autopilot. The same goes for the backlighting for the panel buttons. They don't light up so I can't know what is turned on at what moment. I was planning on using spad.neXt, but I'm not completely sure if I exactly need it or if there is a workaround. I know there's a problem with the a320 and the avionics switch, but I already got that covered. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

So after a good life my Iris FFB Yoke just died on me... I like at the Brunner but I have a hard time paying that much this time around, I've also read mixed feedback regarding MSFS. So I am looking at the Redbird YK1 but leaning towards the virtualfly Yoko. It seems to check all the boxes minus FFB. Does anyone have any input/advice? Sort of gutted right now, loved my Iris.

  24. I have some questions. 1. Is it possible to use my X52Pro throttle with a Virpil stick? 2. How do I mount a Virpil stick with extension to the floor (I want it there in the center, helicopter style)? The WarBRD base, which seemd to be easily floor mounted, is not recommended to be used with an extension. And the Mongoos base has no holes to mount on the floor, but can only be mounted low with an extension via a desktop mount.

  25. To replace the whole TQ magazine and faulty OEM potentiometer wth reliable HE sensor compatible unit. This V6 upgrade will provide easy and speedy upgrade process for Saitek PS2 or USB TQs.. No disassembling of the OEM magazine is required. Basic electronic knowledge and soldering skill are preferred. Thank you for watching. Here is the video link:
