Hey guys, I'm in the market for anew yoke and could use some first-hand opinions. I've been trying to find a used yoke that I could butcher and convert into a left-hand-only frankenyoke, but nobody seems to be interested in getting rid of their old gear. Because of that, price, and because I've had a Saitek ST290pro joystick for years that seems to be well made and reliable, I'm leaning towards buying and butchering a new Saitek PZ44 yoke. But I have questions that aren't addressed within the product's specs. Does the aileron and/or elevator axes of this model spring back to a neutral position? Does it have a smooth action allowing for reliable, one-handed operati…

  3. Can any one with some experience of fsx and multipanel able to explain to me why when using the multipanel (autopilot) with spad , Im not able to set the intersect angle to catch a radial from a vor, like you can if using the fsx truetrak system on the epic lt. when the multipanel through spad is turned off. Seems to me this £100 plus panel doesnt simulate the epic autopilot as well as I had hoped.

So, here's another little DIY on the TQ, since the previous position of the TQ (just left of the yoke) provided too high position, and I wasn't able to use the mouse properly. My goal with this was to achieve two things: Free access to the mouse, a more natural position of the levers while flying and most importantly, an easy removal (mostly onto the floor) so that I can move my chair normally. Obviously I wasn't aiming for the real thing, as for that I would probably need a column yoke, but I think this gives a nice cosy position while flying, where I'm able to rest my hand on the armachair while holding the throttle. If Paul reads this: I finally dared to go for …

  6. I am using the ProFlight Yoke System and am experiencing what I consider an annoyance. When I use the hat switch to look around the cockpit, the moves are very abrupt and it's very difficult to smoothly centre to the view I need. Is there a way to adjust the hat switch so that the moves are finer, less abrupt to provide an easier way to get the view I need?

I really have begun flying with my ch yoke (about 10+ years old) on Win 7 64. Whenever I engage the ap and altitude, it noses down into a dive (flying with the yoke is impossible). I set fsuipc to log to a window and can see messages scrolling in it. When I disconnect my yoke the problem goes away. Also, when connected, I move the trim wheel and the on screen display appears to go nuts when I am flying. However, it does work sometimes. Is ch manager still usable on Win 7 or is there another solution? Does it sound like it might be broke?

Hello, I have got my joystick and throttle configured entirely through FSUIPC. I have set it up according to the manual with the control axes assigned through FSUIPC to an axis on the joystick. I have tried with "send to FS as normal axis" and "send direct to FSUIPC calibration". I have tried with several of the default aircraft. I have disabled controllers within FSX as FSUIPC recommends. Essentially, FSUIPC seems to acknowledge the axis assignment and acknowledge movement of the relevant axis in both the "axis assignment" and "joystick calibration" tabs. Despite this, I have no joystick control over the aircraft and it does not respond to any input from the joysti…

Hello,It’s possible that this type of question or similar has been raised before, but I couldn’t see one exactly the same – if so, I apologise in advance! My PC uses Windows 7 64 & the Yoke is on a USB port . The problem is that my CH Flight Sim Yoke - which is a few years old – had been working perfectly . It had recently developed a tendency to swing to the right when in flight. So I re-calibrated it through FSX - (big mistake!) since then things have just got much much worse! Only now any aircraft swings sharply to the right, or sharply to the left whether inflight or on the ground , consequently it’s very, very difficult to re-centre it or control it on manual …

So after my initial decision to paint my Saitek yoke handle and throttles worked out so well I decided to take it one step further and sanded the entire thing back down to raw plastic, sanded/scuffed the entire yoke handle and yoke housing, taped off the important bits, used a good primer, wet-sanded everything in between coats and then put on multiple coats of glass like clear-coat to get the super smooth feel to the touch. Here is the progress. Next I am going to finish off the TQ and wet-sand it perfectly smooth as well now that I seem to be getting the hang of things. I also did the throttle handles and they feel like glass in your hand, it is awesome... Not…

Hi Everyone, I recently returned to FSX after a long break from simming and decided to buy some new flightcontrols too. I got myself the saitek yoke and throttle quadrant with one additional quadrant and tried to assign the controls through FSUIPC that all worked fine except the for the fact that FSX seems to override FSUIPC when it comes to axis control. I've read that I should manually remove the entries in the standard.xml file as deleting them in FSX only works until the next start up of FSX as it restores the settings again. The problem I have is that I scanned the entire standard.xml (the one in the appdata folder) for any saitek entries but there aren't …

So I'm dangerously close to pulling the trigger on this beauty... Are there any sliders on it? In DCS A-10 I have the view zoom mapped to one the slider on the throttle of my old X-52 so it's easy to zoom in and out with my TrackIR. Is there anything similar to that? Or can you guys tell me what you guys do for zooming your view?

How does the saitek Multipanel work with add-on a/c, I fly the epic lt from lionhearts and the autopilot has different buttons?. Will I need to remap the keys on the saitek panel to match the keys on the epic?. Thanks... Johnboy

  17. Started by styckx,

I just purchased this today and I couldn't be more annoyed.. For a $150 peice of hardware that gloats about precision I'd expect it to at least... Be precise.. Which it's not. After googling around I see this flaw of this joystick was missed in the reviews I read because it seems common after googling about the issue. The joystick `sticks' along the axis from the metal base plate rubbing up against the plastic.. I've applied Super Lube to it with zero change.. I've heard of people using tie wraps to lessen the tension on it.. Tried it, doesn't work and just makes the whole thing a floppy mess and really sad to be already modding a brand new $150 joystick set.So does this …

  18. Hi, can anyone tell me if the saitek multi panel autopilot is compatable with the epic truetrak autopilot system?. The buttons have different buttons, for instance, their is no trk button on the saitek multi panel. Is it possible to work all the systems on the truetrak system, via the saitek panel.

  19. I bought a new saitek yoke and rudder pedals; plane was still hard to control and I had more success with a game pad. I was going to chuck everything out of the window out of frustration until I came across this magical software called fsuipc. What a difference it makes! The only thing is configuring the rudder pedals. I'm still trying to find the perfect setting or control curve; what are you guys using for carenado planes and for heavies like the pmdg 737?

Hi everyone, Firstly I freely admit my n00bness and i beg some kind Flight Sim veteran soul will take pity on me, with what is undoubtedly a wearisome and oft-tread upon request for help. I have trouble with my Saitek throttle in FSX.. even when I try to physically match the throttle's position with where autopilot will have it (flying CLS A310 or 737), when I take it off AP my throttle is very difficult to control and I more or less have to guess where to put it to achieve the desire effect.. i.e. the lever's position on the hardware has no corresponence to what my engines are doing in game.. generally thrust goes up exponentially and I will have to artificiall…

  21. I'm close to biting the bullet and replacing my aging Saitek yoke with a more durable yoke by Precision Flight Controls (www.flypfc.com). As has happened too often to count I've purchased an expensive add-on only to find it go on sale a few days or weeks after.Hence my question, does anyone know if Precision Flight Controls yokes/etc ever go on sale? Thanks,Andreas

  22. Hi All,I've been troubleshooting a yoke "X axis" problem since I purchased the complete Saitek Cessnasystem about 2 weeks ago.Long story short, everything works but the left-turn axis of the yoke. The yoke works correctlywhen I'm testing it with the Saitek test panel, i.e., it smoothly increases in value from 0 to 16383 as Iturned the yoke towards its maximum left limit. But, when I try to fly it or calibrate it in FSX or with the registered FSUIPC, the left turn axis goesimmediately from zero to the max of 16383 after turning the yoke towards the left by only 1-2" fromcenter. You can imagine the effect it has on flying - the roll slams hard over to the left when I'mturning…

I went to some local stores but nobody had a connector like this.Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
