I have a RTX 3070 GPU and am looking at two Ryzen CPU's. Firstly, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and secondly the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Which of these two will work best with the RTX 3070 in FS 2020?

Hi all, after trying 2 motherboards ( high spec) and 3 different sets of 6000 DDR5 ram , iam coming to conclusion i may just have a weak chip ( 7800X3D ) because whatever i try a cannot achieve stable Expo. every time i try and set expo or manual o/c, in whatever confiq my PC just doesn't boot. i have to perform a hard reset ( button on the case ) it must be the CPU right ? if i reset to load optimal defaults or carry out CMOS reset its starts normally ! iam out of ideas now

With MSFS 2024 around the corner, I have started to look around for suitable replacement PC. My current PC is around 8 years old which I bought as factory build, But this time around I am going to custom build my PC. What you people think about below? Looking at various custom PC build websites so far I have come up with the following options (This is subject to change of course as I am looking at more options to tweak): - Intel Core i9 14900K - GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB - ASUS TUF Gaming B760-PLUS WIFI Motherboard - 64GB Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 5600 MHz RAM - 2x M.2-2280 storage drives of 1TB and 4TB each - Windows 11 Home version …

I fly P3D v5.4, FSX (SE) and XP12. The machine is dual boot: Windows 10 with Linux for XP12. Current spec is: ASUS Rog Strix Z370-F gaming; AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT 4GB; i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70 GHz 64 GB RAM; NEC Multisync EA243WM -LED 1920x1200 at 60 Hz (made in 2012). Storage: C drive is 500 GB SSD; G drive (P3Dv5) is 4TB SSD. Also, two other large HDDs with FSX (SE) and XP12. In truth, the system is a mongrel, formed by the accumulation of bits and pieces from previous machines. Thoughts: W10 support will disappear in a year's time. My C drive is nearing capacity even after clearing out redundant files. I would like to run P3D v5 an…

Hello, After serving me extremely well through 10 years, 3 homes and 4 different flight sims, my i7 4770K system is due retirement. After reading horror stories about 13/14th gen Intels at the moment, and also that the current AMD chips are some of the best in their class for flight sim, I've specced a machine up based around the Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor. I wondered if this spec looks good and if there's anything I should change/go without? It is right at the limit of my budget, but given my current machine has been going for 10 years, it's likely (and hopeful) that this will go the same way. Case CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING …

Lost my system early this week. Blue screen, Windows login authentication error. All the remedies fail to restore and the consensus is now a failure in the system. Hardware. Was planning for a new system for MSFS 2024. This event forces my hand now. I am "superficially" aware that MSFS is not great at utilizing multiple processor cores. I am not a systems person and do not know what is more optimum in core counts. I want to stick to Intel CPU choices. Looking ahead to MSFS 2024 what is the general feeling of CPU. I will be using either an RTX 4080 Super or a 4090, and a Thermolake View 71 case (non-RGB). Thoughts?

Finally upgraded my case and GPU. Picked up a FormD T1 SFF case and an Asus ProArt 4080 Super. Obviously, my system is extremely bottlenecked by the 5600X CPU now, but I'm trying to hold off upgrading CPU until the 9000X3D processors are available in a few months. I'm curious if upgrading to one of the AMD X3D processors will get rid of the micro stutters, or do you folks with the 7800X3D / 4080 combo still experience them? FPS are great otherwise. Perhaps it's worth picking up a 5800X3D to replace my 5600X for the next ~6 months? Can't figure out how to insert images in the post, but feel free to check out: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sx0pzoqab969u765k5rkb/F…

I'm in the process of looking for a new computer. I currently play MSFS at 1080p at medium settings and get 20-30 FPS, and 30 is pushing it lol. Although I'd likely to eventually upgrade to 1440p when it comes time to upgrade my monitor. I also typically live stream on Twitch while flying as some light video editing. A picture will be below but I went with the R7 7800X3D, I heard it was the best for MSFS in a few flight sim groups, and my budget was increased to accommodate the 4070 ti super as I heard that was better than the AMD GPUs for live streaming, 2x 16GB DDR5-6000 ADATA, 2x 1TB SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2280 NVME M.2 SSD, Enermax LIQMAX III ARGB 360 AIO, 750 Watt…

Have no idea why but I can say it's not my headphones nor the jack into the PC front panel I checked that out first. Sound just stops briefly then resumes and this is new since building the system several months ago. This is only in MSFS, but I only use one other game which doesn't seem to have this issue. This will occur randomly several times during flights now. Try reinstalling the audio driver? What else? Thanks!

Hi! My current rig has served me well, but it's time for some key upgrades to enhance my gaming experience. To achieve far smoother and more stunning visuals in Microsoft Flight Simulator, I'm planning to upgrade the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and potentially the cooler. These changes will help (hopefully) eliminate bottlenecks and ensure that my system can handle the demanding graphics and complex simulations with ease. Additionally, I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to get both great visuals in Flight Simulator and better refresh rates for Counter-Strike 2. I hope that this upgrade will provide the perfect balance between stunning graphics and high-performance gam…

Hi! I’m leaning towards a 2K monitor to balance visuals in MSFS with higher refresh rates (240Hz) for Counter-Strike 2. However, if anyone can suggest a 4K monitor that can handle both well, I’d really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I can only fit one monitor on my desk, so it needs to be versatile. My budget here is up to around 800 Euros, and I’m looking for something in the 25-27" range for comfort, with IPS panel. For those who fly on 2K resolution, what monitor do you use, and how "stunning" do you find the graphics / experience? ▬MY SETUP▬ Mouse: Razer DeathAdder v3 Mousepad: Corsair MM300 Anti-Fray Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad Keyboard: Razer Blac…

I need some help here, please. While I'm acquainted with Intel processors, I must admit that I'm not as familiar with AMD. I'm currently facing a dilemma and could use your guidance to advise my friend on the best choice between the two only for MSFS 2020 x 2024. My current recommendation, which you can find in my signature, might be a bit outdated. I'm hesitant to suggest it without first seeking your advice on the latest options. He's looking at this, but he's not financially limited, and any other suggestions are welcome. Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D (16-Core) 5.7 GHz Turbo (3D V-Cache) Motherboard: MSI PRO X670E GAMING PLUS (Wi…

My GPU is an O.C. edition. The new version Nvidia app increased my two gpu clocks 165 and 200 MHz. In addition to the GPU optimizer there is the app optimizer and ISP says it is much better than the old GeForce Experience app optimizer which set things too mild. But unlike the GPU optimizer, the app optimizer is still probably best for beginners who don't have a clue how to do it manually.

Some of you are aware that I have reported a number of crashing issues with MSFS in the last few weeks - unfortunately, things are worse than ever and I am basically unable to run MSFS at all now. (2 successful flights in the last 14 days). After checking everything possible and performing every file and memory scan available (including complete reinstalls of Windows 10 and FS 2020) nothing has been resolved and failures continue. And, it's not just FS - e-mail programs. video production systems, some browsers and other applications are also crashing. The computer shop I have worked with for over 30 years has worked with me on these issues and has not been able to…

Hi guys , i have been having a lot of stability issues with AM5 system and a friend of mine suggested it maybe my 1000w corsair unit wasnt powerful enough see signature for spec . so i went out and purchased a be quite 1500w unit , but i couldn't get either of the supplied 12v cables to supply power to my 4090 , everthing else seemed normal. so to troubleshoot i re fitted my old 1000w unit and all was back to normal . one thing that i will add , is both power units were not plugged directly into the wall but via an extension . i was wondering if that could be the issue . As anyone else experienced this with a 1500w BE QUITE straight power units ?
