Hi I have just changed over to AMD after having Intel systems for the last 20 years or so. I now have a AMD 7800X3D with a 4090 graphics card witch was pre built for me and I assume the bios settings are all set to default. What should I be checking/setting in the BIOS or Windows 11 to get the best performance with MSFS 2020. PC Specs are AMD 78000X3D ASUS ROG Strix X670E-F ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC 32 GB 6000MHz RAM Corsair RM1000x psu. 3 X 2TB PCIe (M.2) Thanks

Hi flyers Not sure if this has been asked before but I am planning on buying a new NVMe SSD for the new FS2024 (and perhaps existing FS2020) as there are some good deals with 'Black Friday'. Appreciate FS2024 is not released yet but I am looking towards the future re: best performance. This is to complement a PC based on an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D cpu, MSI Mpg X670E Carbon Wifi Atx Motherboard, G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL30 DDR5 ram and the to be released Nvidia 4070Ti Super (c. Jan24 hopefully). I have shortlisted 2 x NVMe SSDs below as they receive very positive reviews and have very high read/write speeds. Interested to hear your views wh…

  3. Hello you all, I am trying to build a new GamePC. I was thinking about an i9 13900KS (turbo clockspeed 6.0 ghz) and a AMD 7950X3D (turbo clockspeed 5.7 ghz) The GPU will be the RTX 4090 24 GB. As RAM memory I got Corsair Vengeance RGB 64 GB 6000 Mhz The motherboard for AMD i can choose between ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero or Gigabyte Aorus X670 Elite AX The motherboard for Intel is ASUS Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi. I want to play at 27 inch 1440p monitor the games: MSFS 2020, Prepar3D v4 or v5 and Train Simulator. What do you guys advise to go with? Better the intel i9 13900KS or the AMD 7950X3D? I checked a lot of reviews, but I really don't k…

  4. I currently have a 4090 + 12900k + 6400mhz ram.. I use this for VR primarily, still with a some stutters here and there with motion smoothing and the aero headset, though now with pimax crystal as well. Im wondering if anyone made a jump 4090 held equal from 12900 to one of these cpu's. I hear there could be some boost by going to the 7950x3D at least due to caching despite lower clock speeds (currently im at about 4.9 fixed). The 14900 is about 6ghz at most if it is able to hit that with those temps. Its possible to also boost ram to around 7200 from 6400. I tried before for days to get stable (with stress tests) at 5.1 and just couldnt do it without higher volta…

In the MSFS simulator environment, having multiple concurrent sound sources is common. In a Win11 environment, is it possible to direct sounds to different devices ? Specifically, can the aircraft sounds remain on the digital speakers (connected to the monitor's audio line-out port) and have ATC sounds be directed to the headset/microphone device ? Headset/Microphone device requires a USB and a 3.5 mm. audio jack, both are available on the PC. If this can be done, I would appreciate some direction on how a Win11 PC can be configured for the above. Thanks

  6. Hello, Would appreciate an advice from US simmers as I'm planning to put a request for assembly of new MSFS-dedicated PC. Still thinking about AMD vs Intel, but the core question is about assembly vendor as I'm not well-educated about this subject (unfortunately). 1) My first obvious choice is local Microcenter. One of the main "pro" arguments that I can always reach them out personally (20 min drive). "Con' is they promise 4-hours delivery. I think that it's a little bit overstatement of their abilities. 2) Newegg. 3) Corsair. Thank you in advance for your suggestions/recommendations/hints. DT.

I'm looking at upgrading my i7-6700 to the I9-13900 in preparation for a GPU upgrade later in the year. My question is, what kind of OC can I expect as factory turbo OC, as opposed to manually tweaking and testing, as I'm not that savvy with all that procedure? There also seems to be a plethora of different CPU options available to purchase and I'm wondering which CPU version do I need to get a good OC, without the need to engage in manually testing and tweaking? Advice appreciated, thanks.

Good morning all, I messed up a small bit in upgrading from 16GB to 32GB RAM. Instead of purchasing 2x16 I purchased 1x32 for my Asus Z370 Pro MOBO. Before I go total overkill and purchase another single 32GB Stick, how do you think I would get on if I just used a single 32GB Stick of RAM on my system which is dedicated to MSFS only? Would it work or not. Thank you for any advice you may have. Martin

Hello all, I'd like to kindly ask for your advice here on my PC build. I already have ordered all the parts except the CPU. I went to an AM5 setup with a 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30. I'll use the PC mainly for X-Plane 12 and P3D and some productivity software. My doubt is what CPU I should look for? 7800X3D seems a good candidate but for $100 more I can get the 7900X3D which has a higher clock speed and more cores. I can also consider getting the 7900x or 7950x. 7950X3D is very expensive for me. My current GPU is a NVIDIA 3080. Probably will update the GPU in about 1 year. I'll be using 2k without any VR, 1 monitor only. …

Hello, I'm in the market for a new PC setup, and I have an NVidia card but I'm thinking about getting an AMD GPU next. Would a 6800 XT/7800 XT play Prepar3D V5 well? I think the game is optimized better for NVidia cards, and I've also heard that some users are reporting fidgeting white lines on the screen while playing with AMD GPUs. Is this true? The value of the AMD cards is just so hard to pass up, especially with the 16GB VRAM compared to the 4070 with 12GB VRAM that I would get if I didn't get an AMD card.

I put my current system together about the same time as Ray back in 2018 with similar parts and it is also time for an upgrade. However, I need to save on costs so am hoping to keep as much as much of my current system as possible and only replace the Motherboard, CPU and (probably) the GPU. This means keeping my DDR4 ram and installing a DDR4 compatible motherboard - probably the ASUS ROG Strix Z790-A which is a bit of a downgrade for me as in the past I have always gone for high end boards (my current board is an ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme XI) but current high end boards don't support DDR4 and are quite expensive. So are there any any significant drawbacks in stickin…

  20. For 30+ years I've had Intel CPUs in all my flight sim computers starting with the 486 SX33 back in the early 90s. But times change and I'm now seriously considering the Ryzen 7 7800X3D which seems to have performed better than the latest Intel and at much lower temps too. Here's the probable components for my next PC. It will be built by Chillblast, a UK company with a good reputation. Comments or suggestions welcomed. As the mobo can take two M2 drives I've opted for those with the OS on one and P3D on the other. Hello. Im looking for advice on building a flight sim computer. It’s been several years since I built the last one with a 1090ti. It will be used for flight sim, gaming, no work functions. Currently using a single 55” tv for a monitor. Run MSFS 2020/24, X-plane and maybe DCS. Possibly grow into either a triple monitor setup or a VR setup. Air Manager is of interest. OC a bit. PBO and Expo. Would like to build as quiet and cool of a system as possible. The current one is very loud and generates a ton of heat. Enough to overheat a small bedroom. Would like to run other apps while flight simming. Traffic, Flight Planning, Navigraph, Forefl…

  25. My computer is ordered and Chillblast are getting the parts together. I was advised by a computer expert I should limit myself to one SSD as there are only two PCI-E gen 5 slots available. He advised keeping one for a gen 5 compatible GPU when they become available at some point. That leaves just one gen 5 slot for storage. I’ve ordered the Crucial T700 M.2 NVMe 4Tb drive. Is it feasible to partition it in two - one half for C and the other as D for flightsim software? Or does this cause problems and I should just stick with the full 4Tb?
