Starting to get some audio cutouts for the past few weeks...

Featured Replies

Have no idea why but I can say it's not my headphones nor the jack into the PC front panel I checked that out first.   Sound just stops briefly then resumes and this is new since building the system several months ago.  This is only in MSFS, but I only use one other game which doesn't seem to have this issue.  This will occur randomly several times during flights now.

Try reinstalling the audio driver?  What else?

Thanks!

Check the audio setting inside the sim and ensure you are choosing the audio card for the output from "default".  I've heard this can help things.

Do you use AI traffic, and if so, what library and injection method? I have found that if I have heavy live traffic I get sound cutouts. When I limit live traffic below some threshold my sound problems go away - I only have experienced the problem at large airports with significant amounts of live traffic.

Doesn't sim sound setting have an option for radio to cut out or fade trying to mimic real life...maybe worth a look??

Thanks, yes FSLTL but I've used it for years now even on lesser hardware w/o this issue, and actually I have FSLTL with super limited traffic for performance reasons.

It's not radio it's all sound, but thanks anyway!

It's too early to know but so far on this flight, no audio cutouts.  I went to Device Manager and disabled 3 audio devices that I don't think are in use with how I'm setup and hopefully this fixes it, we'll see.

It might be related to PMDG 738 as I'm in a different plane now and am not certain if I had this issue with the plane I'm flying now.

Ok it's fixed I'm pretty sure now as I've done both planes and not getting the audio cutouts.  Since I've had NVIDIA HD AUDIO enabled for years it's probably either NV VItual Audio Device or TCA Yoke's headphone jack or something, but I don't use that anyway so I'm guess it's the former.

Cheers and thanks for chiming in 🐵
