Evening all. Currently interested in purchasing a PC solely for P3D. So far, I've found the following at a reasonable price: Intel I7 7700K @ 4.2Ghz (with turbo to 4.5Ghz) GTX 1080 8GB 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000mhz Performance Ram Motherboard: Gigabyte Z270X-Ultra Gaming AKA, https://www.freshtechsolutions.co.uk/intel-i7-7700k-2tb-16gb-ddr4-gtx-1080-8gb-blitz-computer-gaming-pc.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIycnjqPja2wIVcDPTCh2pHwOAEAQYBCABEgKE7PD_BwE What are your thoughts on this? What more/less do I need? I have the objective of being to able to fly the FSLabs A320X mainly from FlyTampa Athens, along with ORBX Global and possibly…

My current 960 512Gb is full with OS, P3D, and addons. Looking to add some photo scenery and DCS. Motherboard is Asus Z170 Pro Gaming which only has the one M.2 slot which is occupied by the 960. Should I add an internal SSD via SATA or an external SSD via USB 3.1 Gen 2 (TypeA or TypeC)? my only concern is optimum performance for data transfer and simulator performance. experienced opinions appreciated. thanks!

Hello, I have Laptop MSI GL62M 7REX with I7 7700HQ 2.8ghz , GTX 1050TI 4GB , RAM DDR4 8GB SINGLE CHANNEL. My question and my plan is: Whats the most P3D V 4.3 demands on? is it CPU? GPU? or RAM? I want to change to ASUS ROG G751JY . (this is what i know about the performance, please let me know if im wrong) it has i7 4720hq . That should be downgrade from my previous laptop(?), but the GPU is GTX 980M 4GB what i see is much powerfull(?) . So is it worth it? Why i want to change because im going to use triple monitor spanning surround display. If is not worth, does add one more ram (8GB) worth too? becuase ive only got single channel. thanks.

Hi, Have a strange problem. I have a custom built PC which I've used an Asus Z370F Gaming Mobo, 8700K CPU and Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 Every time I hit the power button the system lights up, starts up and then stops. Starts up again but boots to an "F1 to continue" BIOS stop. It reports seeing 2 keyboards which is what I think is the fault and I've no idea how to stop it. I've tried swapping keyboards, leaving it out (causes a normal F1 stop) different USB ports. Nothing stops the system seeing 2 keyboards. I have a Element Gaming mechanical, LED illuminated keyboard and I've read that the power draw can sometimes cause this, also the anti ghos…

Hello guys, my PC has recently suffered water damage and my Z97 MOBO is dead. So there's a good reason to do the much needed upgrade 🙂. I'll be buying new CPU, MOBO, RAM and storage. Of course CPU and MOBO go hand in hand, and I have a few options here: Wait for the 9th generation (i9-9900K) and buy Z390 MOBO with that (the ideal one seems to be the AORUS Z390 Master) Buy some 8th gen CPU like i7-8700K or i7-8086K - which one is better and do they benefit from the Z390 MOBO? Will the new one have significantly better performance to bother with waiting and paying more? I have the i7-4790 @ 4,6 now. I'd like to OC with my Corsair H115i coole…

My next PC project (SimPit v3.5) is going to involve a bunch of additional components that probably just aren't going to fit into my Thermaltake Core X9 PC case and for that matter may not fit into any "closed" PC case? I'm looking at open racks but they all seem to be "miner" based. Requirements: Must be horizontal mount for Motherboard Support 3X power supplies (EVGA 1600Watt (CPU/MB/GPUs), EVGA 750Watt (peripherals, fans, and pumps), DC 24V 312Watt (Koolance chiller)) Support 3X coolant pumps (with attached reservoirs: PR22-D5 (CPU only), 2X EK-XRES 100 DDC (1 for MB, 1 for 2X 2080Ti )) Support 2X 480 60mm Radiators and 1X 240 60mm Radiato…

In the age of 2080ti's and 9-series CPU's I took a look back at some bleeding-edge tech of the past..... Funny to think our current monsters will one day seem just as primitive.

Hello, I've read that PCI express 4 will be released in 2019. My understanding is that it will dramatically encrease the data flow between the CPU and the GPU. Don't you think that it is wise to wait for this new feature before upgrading my PC? THX

After much deliberation I finally made the jump to the Intel i7-8700K processor. I left behind the i7-6700K. Although it had been good to me for a long time (and was still going strong), I have always thought that my P3Dv4 could benefit from a stronger i7. The new 8700K is paired with a GTX 1060 6GB that I have overclocked, and 32 gigs of Corsair Vengeance RAM. The only thing that changed with my new processor was switching to a Z370-A motherboard of course. I kept all of my settings the same after upgrading the hardware and took it for a test run. Well. It was horrible. Compared to my 6700K, I am getting 15-20fps in situations my old processor would give me 35-40fps! Ove…

My flight sim rig has been serving well for 4ish years and I'm starting to think of an upgrade. Price is always a consideration, but I'm actually out of school and can consider hardware nearer the top of the line this time around. I play DCS and P3Dv4 almost exclusively. No real other gaming. DCS runs well, but bogs down in VR (which I don't normally use due to the screen resolutions). P3D v4 performs admirably, but I can be at 12-14 FPS in a heavy add-on aircraft (FSL or PMDG) and scenery. It seems that people out there with some very current hardware are getting much better results. I find 20 or so FPS fairly playable in P3D, but need this to be more of a minimum…

I turned on the computer today and noticed the case fans were going full tilt on what is otherwise a very quiet computer. I checked CPU temps and they were way high (not under load). Took the case cover off but could not really tell anything, the tubes are well insulated. Bios shows CPU fan rpm is zero, water flow is zero....not sure if this even measures correctly with this type of water cooler. Anyway I sent in a support ticket to Corsair, looks like I need to RMA but wondering is there a tool from Corsair that shows the water cooler status/health. I had a pump failure two computer ago and swore then I would not go back to water ever again, well here I am thinking …

Hey fellow simmers, I am have recently got my hands on a EVGA 1080 SC GPU and have been testing it for a couple of days. I did a clean uninstall of the old drivers using the ddu tool and deleted my shaders before starting P3D. My GPU Memory clock is currently set to 6000 Mhz. I monitor it using the MSI Afterburner tool, and have also stressed it using the Heaven benchmark and other DX11 Heavy games, it stays frimly at 6000 Mhz under stress. What surprised me is that just after P3D loads a scenario, the GPU Memory Frequency drops to 5500 Mhz, at the loading screen it shows 6000 Mhz. This puzzles me, and is the reason I turn to the community for usef…

Hi everyone, I am building a flight simulator at home and have now come to the conclusion that my current PC is severely lacking in terms of power. So I decided to build a new PC and my main obstacle now is mostly choosing the right CPU. I've done some digging online and many people say Intel is always the way to go. However, since I am on a budget limit because I originally didn't plan on building a new PC, I've also been looking at AMD's Ryzen series. I am planning on running FSX and P3D. I also do video editing and music production so for that having many cores will be very useful. Because of this, right now AMD's risen 7 1800x compels the most to me. I…

I need some opinions from this expert community. If money was not an issue, what would be the most perfect desktop PC available in todays market for running P3Dv4, X-Plane 11 and DCS? MOTHERBOARD = HARDDRIVE (SSDs) = GPUs (SLI) = RAM = DATA STORAGE HARDDRIVES = POWER SUPPLY = COOLING = CASE = SOUND = OTHER =
