I am very careful not to install clearly frame rate obliteratng addon software, and most of that consists of the avoidance of obviously unoptimised addon aircraft. But generally my system is surprisingly good, as long as I don't push things too far. Hello, I’m running an i7-6700K o/c, Asus Z170, 32GB Memory, GTX 980Ti, SSDs... It’s running well at the majority of times but can still have issues in the obvious areas, London etc. Sliders aren’t maxed either. If I was to update to the latest and greatest... 9900, 2080 etc, am I going to be pleased with the investment? p3d user with the obvious addons. PMDG, FSLabs, Orbx...... etc. Many thanks, Mike

I know this is a long post but I could sure use the advise of the experts out there! Everyone is talking about the 9900k but very little about the 9900x, 9920x, 9940x. I’m needing to upgrade my 5820k build and don’t know which way to go, 9900K or X. I mostly fly the PMDG 777 in P3Dv4.4. I’m moving to a two monitor setup with a 55” Samsung 4K for outside view and a Dell U3818DW to display only the virtual cockpit. That’s a lot of pixels so I’ll also install a second 1080ti SC2. My home-built PC (see sig) has been humming along without a problem for a year now and I couldn't be happier with P3D performance, especially now that I've added the 2080Ti. However, although I knew better, I stopped thinking and went ahead and updated my BIOS since I was still running the out-of-the-box version, which was current when I purchased the MB. Of course I hadn't saved my current O/C profile in the BIOS, so when the BIOS update finished I discovered my O/C profile had been restored back to default. I knew how I'd originally reached that O/C profile (using ASUS Ai Suite), so I went back to try that again, and did achieve very stable performance at 5.0GHz, but …

I think this maybe a common issue, but haven't yet found a fix:-( I've just bought a new USB keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX (not RGB) On cold startup of the PC (not hot reset), the keyboard no longer works (although still receives USB power as red LEDs on). Works fine if I haul out the PC and switch USB ports at the rear. Anyone know if there's a fix for this?

Simple opening question. If you had the choice to upgrade now or wait within the next six months, which would the sensible you do? I haven't flown or had a PC capable of doing so since around 2005, so understandably things have moved on, a lot! The QW787 and Orbx has pulled me back after all those years on the peripheral. I have overclocked my 8700K to 4.8 after completing a delid. The cooler is a Corsair H115i. Temps while running the sim seem very good to me....mostly in the high 40's to mid 50's with the occasional push to the lost 60's before dropping back down. The problem is my case fans and going full tilt and the case is very noisy. I don't think the temps are that bad and i would like to have a quieter computer. MB is Gigabyte and I an not sure how to control the fan speeds to reduce the noise. Any ideas?"

My current system is an HP Pavillion HP 150f (i7-860, GT230, 8gb ddr3 133mhz, Iona mobo, Sandisk 240gb SSD) from circa 2009 that is showing signs of age for FSX with a bunch of addons, but surprisingly I can hold 20fps on cruise with any Carenado plane and 12 to 15fps on approach on a Flytampa KTPA Tampa airport with the sliders in middle to high. As I´m in a budget, I´ll be doing the system upgrade in steps and just bought an used EVGA GTX 970 4gb that I´ll try to run on my system for a while as I think the bottleneck on my current system is just the GT230 GPU. Hi All, Just posting on the off-chance someone has one of these boards (or similar), I know it's quite an old model now. I've had my Asus Z87 Pro with 4770k for a few years now, and from the outset have had intermittent problems with it, usually to do with the USB controllers. Every few months or so I get repeated failure to boot. I press the power button, the system and fans fire up and it just sits there with nothing on the screen. I can't even access the BIOS. Hello, i have issue on my P3D Ver. 4.4. ive got fps drop frequently or worse in T/O or LDG Roll. Im using PMDG 737NGX in Virtual Cockpit mode, ive searched some problem that occurs when touchdown or t/o roll is the "effect" of skidmark.fx so i moved it out of the folder but i felt this didnt work. This occur only in second but its annoying for me. Since it's Christmas time, I decided to look into a new computer. I have been using an asus laptop for the longest time and it's served me well but maybe getting a little outdated. I really hate that my computer is partitioned with a tiny tiny C drive. I also just downloaded the new AIG installer and the models and textures get installed to the C drive which again is teeny tiny.
