I have run into 2 problems when trying to re-install FS9.When installing FS9 I get a message saying FS9 cannot detect a sound card even though I have a Soundblaster Live card installed and working properly.I went ahead and finished the installation without FS9 recognizing my sound card. When I try run FS9, I get an error saying:"Aircraft Initialization Error. Level D Simulations B767-300ER"I used to have this addon aircraft installed but I un-installed it using the uninstall program prior to uninstalling FS9.Any help would be appreciated.thanks :)sbd4

I'm about to change video drivers for my NV6600GT card. I've usually used Driver Cleaner to ge rid of an driver remnants from prior versions. I now have an ASUS A8N mobo, with NVidia chipset drivers.I'm wary of unintentionally destroying my chipset drivers when I clean my NV video drivers, since they are both made by the same company. Picked up a Microsoft USB X box controller today at Best Buy because I heard it's supposed to be good for FS9. I would love to hook it up tomorrow, but I will ask my Flight Simulator friends here on this forum for some help.If you have one, please share with me the way you hooked it up, and how you "assigned" your buttons and the 2 hat controllers. I haven't unpacked it yet, but I'd like to see why the FS team at the show in Vegas thought it was a "cool controller" for FS. hello,right no i am flying online (it happens also offline) from eham to lgav.My problem is when i take a aircraft like lds 767/ feelthere 737 and Pmdg 737 (not possible pmdg 747 because then i go 10 fps down), when i am in windowed mode and use a second monitor to put the overhead panel on, i have a stutter every ten seconds. I think I saw this topic covered somewhere, but I cant find it. I have 9.1 running on a very powerful xp machine. I have a number of add ons installed. The problem is when FS starts it is so slow. It just hangs at the opening picture. It takes forever and then eventually starts. I have tried to disable everything to determine which program is causing the problem. But nothing seems to solve it.Any thoughts out there?Perhaps a new clean install is the way to go but that is a ton of work.I would appreciate any ideas that you may have regarding this issue.?

Earlier this morning, I tried to fly a FSEconomy assignment, but ran into problems with my throttle quadrant... Previous flight (in a different FS session) went without a hitch.... Now, FS9 fails to recognize the #2 and #5 levers. (2nd from left and 2nd from right). I recalibrated it, and they work fine. When I went to change the assignments, FS9 recognized it and assigned it to the proper control, but once back in the sim, that throttle/prop/mixture lever corresponding to each of the #2 and #5 levers sit at about 40% and do not move with the controls. After checking out several reviews and forums and getting help from the Avsim forum and went ahead and replaced my dying ATI (I suspected) with a Winfast Leadtek 6600GT 128mb AGP card.The card eats a powerconnector but comes with a Y-cable, which it shares with my cdrw drive. I powered up after using drivercleaner, downloaded the newest NVIDIA drivers and removed the old fs9.cfg. I have strange problem with fs9 so here goes.My system is basicly this AMD 28001gb ram80 gb HDBFG Nvidia 5500 OC 256 mb cardNow with that in mind FS9 runs great most of my graphic sliders are almost all the way to the right with some AI traffic on and PMDG 737 running at KSEA I can fly around the area with framerates easily in the 30s and 40s :)Now for the kicker... Out Jan 06 2006- 2.08.004 CREATIVE.COM/I have a Audigy 2zs and now can run hardware acceleration at full without getting disortion and crackles. Also noticed a slight fps boost and smoothness. Maybe the card is now taking some of the workload off the proccesor?Anyways, thought about putting this in Hardware but I would have never looked there and wanted to share this and hopefully will benfit some.

I've got a Dell XPS3 P4 3.4GHz HT, 1GB, X800 XT 256MB PCI-e using the newest Omega drivers and ATI tray tools. Everything is factory from Dell and I've had it a year with great results. I just bought a new LCD monitor and with all the add-ons, running at 1600x1200 is taking a small hit on FPS. I was thinking about overclocking, but don't really know the benefit versus risk. Is overclocking my card a viable option or is it too risky without aftermarket cooling accessories? Does anyone have a good tutorial on overclocking with ATI tray tools?
