Has anyone else had problems being able to "Read" the ATC instruction boxes since the newer version of the ATI drivers have come out? Especially the new 6.1 and 6.2 versions. I know there is a statement in the release notes that the mouse running over the ATC box might cause similar problems. So far the only way to get rid of the problem is to go back to the old version of ATI drivers like the 5.11 that did not require the Net Frame and CCC.Speaking of CCC, can the new 6.2s be loaded and will they run without installing the CCC? I have heard that you need to go into the custom install instead of the default"quick" setup. If this be the case, Does the MS Net Frame prograam…

Can somebody out there help me with this?I run FS9 with a large array of hardware including the CH Throttle Quadrant USB which works beautifully well on props and jets of every size and shape. Except for the LDS 767-300 where I get a great surge of excess N1 after the 80 knot THR HOLD mark. This has never been a significant issue for me in the many months I've had the LDS and I am baffled and irritated by it.When I advance the throttle levers manually to 60% or so and click the N1 button for t/o power, all is fine up to 80 knots. At 80 knots, however, when THR HOLD activates, N1 then starts to shoot wildly over the pre-set FMS limit and hits the max possible, unbalanci…

Hi AllI have just built a new system and this time I have gone for an ATI card, Powercolor 850XT, instead of my usual nVidia card. Could someone advise please on the best driver version to use for FS2004. I am currently using V6.1 with the Catalyst Control Centre but I am getting lots of warnings from ZoneAlarm that cli.exe wants to access the internet. All this is to do with the Control Centre software. Why does the Control Centre always need internet access?I loaded a new copy of FS2004 and when I tried to run the progarm Zonealarm constantly came up upo with the warning and FS2004 wouldn't run. If I don't load the Catalyst Control Center all works well. I know I could …

Hi Folks,I'm going to buy a new computer which has integrated graphics, but I want to install a GeForce 6800 card to upgrade it.Has anyone had any experience adding a graphics card to a computer which has integrated graphics? Does it work well? Any problems or downside to doing that?I seem to remember previous posts where people may have had some problems with such a set up.The computer I'm looking at is an HP A1350N:Athlon 64x2 dual 4200+ 2.2 gig1 gb PC 3200 DDR sdram250 gig HDintegrated graphics and soundI could order a similar computer from HP as a customized machine with the Ge Force card already installed, but it would cost hundreds of dollars more than the pre bu…

A buddy of mine just gave me an old computer. It's an AMD XP 1600 (1.47g) 512 mb 133 SDram, 60g maxtor 7400rpm HDD. and onboard vid. The MB is an Apollo KLE133. I have a much better computer that I run FS9 on now but was wondering if I could set this one up to run it fairly decent? I have XP or Windows Me (Could get 98se if needed) to load on it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks for any and all help.

All,So, after years of using FS (back to the Mac version) I finally went for some add-on scenery, Ultimate Terrain - USA and BirdsEyeView USA-Canada Volume 1 Summer. For my ~$47US for the pair I'm underwhelmed to say the least, so I assume I don't have something configured correctly. The box I'm running FS9.1/UT/BEV on is decent (specs below). If anyone could point me towards a good config in FS and the add-ons to get the best out of them I'd really appreciate it. For UT and BEV I used their default configs, then made adjustments to UT per comments on the BEV forum as regards enhanced lighting and roads, iIrc.What's my problem? I fly low and slow, VFR usually, though I us…

I have an ATI X850Pro card and recently have found that it might be possible to unlock it to run on all 16 pipelines as would the X850XT, I was wondering if this could have any positive outcome for FS9? Would getting into BIOS flashing and enabling these 4 extra pipelines give me any noticeable FPS/smoothness/performance gain as far as the FS9 is concern?ThanksMy sys at glanceP4 3.0GHz HT with 2MB L2 Catch2GB RAM120GB SATA HDWindowsXP Pro

Im currently using a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick to fly with in Flight Simulator 2004. When I try to move the throttle up to start my take off the simulator will not let me throttle up. I can see the throttle lever on the panel start to move up and then goes back down. Everything else on the joystick works fine. It just happened about two days ago and had been working great for a couple of years so its really annoying. Im thinking it must be something within Flight Simulator and do not think its a hardware problem. I have tried re-calibrating the joystick and replacing the Devices CFG file with no luck. If anyone has had a similar experience Any help would be appr…

I read several times about a company http://www.fs-gs.com/ and Michael concerning service to tune a PC to improve FS performances.Lot of people do not believe or judge it worthwhile spending 60 or more Euros to improve their computer.I finally made the jump when I found out that the PC was reaching its limits and after trying all the advices I could found in this forum.Like others before me who asked Michael services I can only say that it is worthwhile. Now I fly with nearly all the sliders on the right. Now I have a wonderfull view (like Michael said to me I have a new FS) and FPS in the 30-35 range almost all the time (sometimes a bit lower with heavy clouds and a big …

What do you suggest I do to prevent myself the agony if my pc/hard drive crashes? I have put a ton of time and money into building my sim to how I like it. I want to make sure that in the event of an emergency, I can load up and get running on a new CD without having to reinstall everything. What do you all suggest? USB HD? Ideas? ThanksBrad

I have just set up a new system for FS2004 which incorporates Realtek AC97 on-board sound. However I get a wierd problem with my sound, a distorted buzzing type of interference only when using the mouse click on most of the FS2004 menu screens. I have no experience with on-board sound since all previous systems included separate sound cards without any issues. Here's the really annoying part. I can fix the problem by turning down the hardware acceleration in Dxdiag, or using the Windows XP Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices, but Windows keeps turning it back up to full acceleration on very regular occasions eg. rebooting, or even going from windows mode to full s…

I had a problem come up this morning after trying to burn a CD to take to work with me.Half way through the write process, Roxio encountered an error and had to shut down. I tried to restart Win XP to try it again, but the shutdown process had taken 5 minutes or more, and I had to get on my way. I came home tonight and the screen was black, the light on the monitor was green, and the computer was running normally. I moved the mouse, thinking it had gone into hibernate. Nothing...I restarted a couple of times and even cold booted, but each time it would get past the Win XP splash screen, it would go black and do nothing. I even went as far as clicking all around the s…
