Hi guys,a while back I posted here about my problems with my new system and stuttering - or pauses - that I am experiencing. Since then I reformatted, set up RAID 0 from scratch, reinstalled FS9, tried all sorts of tweaks but nothing seems to help.I am running an Athlon 64 3500+ processor on an ASUS A8N5X board, nForce 4 chipset with 1Gb Corsair RAM, water cooled. Sapphire X850 XT PE cardCreative X-Fi sound card2 Seagate Barracuda 160Gb SATA disks in RAID 0, strip size 64kb1 older IDE disk, 80Gb500w power supplyWin XP pro SP2all the latest drivers and BIOSFS9 stutters like crazy; for example, approaching a large airport like EDDF or EHAM I get 4-5 big pauses about 1 secon…

My PC is a PIII 1.2 Ghz that I have recently upgraded so that I now have 1GB RAM and a 4x AGP 256MB GeForce 6200 video card and I have added Windows XP. I had been playing FS2000 on my machine before the upgrade and I would like to know if my new system specs are enough to run FS2004 smoothly with the graphics settings turned up. If not turned all the way up, then what level of detail do you think I will be able to achieve? I really want FS2004, but I don't want it to be choppy. Thanks in advance for your advice!

So, I run a pretty nice desktop: 3.2g processor, 2g ram, 800-PE ATI card. Not PCI-e, but about as nice an AGP rig as you could build about a year ago. Like most people, I've always been astonished that even though I can play DOOM3 cranked, FS9 can bring me to tears. All in all though, I'm not UNhappy - I have my own tweakset going and I can get about 20-30FPS with most things cranked up, with some noticeable stuttering now and then, and some occasional bogs with freeware scenery (KFF1 kills me).For no particular reason, I decided to try running FS on my new work laptop - a Dell Lattitude 610. It's nothing special - 1.7 mobile processor, 500m of ram, and some integrate…

I added an additional second monitor after I had built and set up my PC. After I noticed that there was no output on the second monitor I checked "Extend my Windows Desktop onto the Monitor" in Desktop/Properties/Settings. That's what I have now, and I can drag screens between monitors, including icons on the desktop and programs. One monitor is set up better for typing (close to keyboard), the other is better for a front screen of FS9.Then I heard about nView. I have an nVidia 6600GT, and found how to invoke nView from another helpful post here. My question: Do I leave the check in Desktop/Properties... to extend my desktop to the second monitor, or does nView repl…

Hi all,Yesterday I was made aware of ASRock 939 Mobo on the FSX forum that supports both native AGP and the new PCIE cards. Since I am still looking for the ultimate multiple display system (one comp, many video cards) this board seems interesting as it promises full agp and pci video running simultaneously. Does anyone have any experience with that board. I would like to set it up with one AGP card and one PCIE card, both with dual heads for the 4 monitor outside view.Anyways any thoughts or experiences with that mobo that you would like to share would be much appreciated.Roberthttp://www.geocities.com/fsbobby/

hello all, when I take off, as soon as my gear leaves the ground, I get a blue screen and the following error: BAD_POOL_HEADER.I've done some googling but couldn't find the right answer to solve this problem. I've updated my video drivers (Geforce FX 5200) and I'm running XP with SP2 installed. My idea is that SP2 is the cause, but try running xp without SP2 nowadays... Anyone has an idea how to fix this error?

Good morning everyone. Is there a way when I adjust my acceleration settings for audio from full to basic, to have the system keep this setting saved, so on the next reboot, I don't have to keep going back into DXDIAG to change it. I ask this because it increases my memory usage alot when I access DXDIAG. EX: after boot up = 74,828 used / After accessing DXDIAG = 85,652 used. I hope I am not confusing matters. I like my system load as low as possible before running FS9. I use Win2000pro (tweeked to 14 processes running)Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an old system used for FS9. Its a P4 2.26GHz with 1gb RAM and an NVidia Ti4200 64mb video card.I'm running windows xp quite lean and tweaked quite well. I thought about upgrading my graphics card since its the cheapest option in hopes to breath some life into FS9 for another few months. So I went and got an ATi X700 Pro AGP card with 256mb. I thought there's gotta be a difference that I'd see. Well to my shock it performs on par with my old Ti4200! How could that be?I followed instructions to the T. I uninstalled the NVidia drivers and then used a driver removal tool from guru3D to really make sure there are no traces of old drivers. I swapped the cards and loaded t…

Hi,Am having a load of problems relating to water effects in fs2004.I have tried several downloads in order to get water reflection and have followed all instructions down to the last letter.Yet no matter what i do, all i seem to be able to get is the default FS2004 sea, dull and boring.I have been driven mad, by all indications that tell me that all i have done should mean the new textures are displayed, i have tried changing the display settings in fs2004 ..nothing.I cannot view water effects whatsoever. Is it my graphics card to blame or something in my system configuration that prevents me from seeing water effects? Is there known issues regarding my grapgics card,(a c…

I was wondering if this was a widespread issue or not. I have updated my graphics drivers to the newest ones from Nvidia (I have a 256 Mb 7800GT card), and I started having graphics issues within the flight sim. Any time I am outside the sim, textures keep reloading on the plane, ground, everything. I have updated to 8X.XX drivers before, and had same results, having to revert back to 77.79, but with the new drivers out, I was hoping this issue was fixed, since 77.79s, weren't all that great either. So, has anyone had a similar issue and found a sensible solution to this texture problem?Cheers,SK

I dont now whats going on but I just got a new radeon 9250 pci which is way better than my intergrated graphics I used to have, but every time I press the alt key so the top menu pops up, it takes 15 seconds for it to load up and the sound freezes up, so if I am talkin to atc and the controller is saying mayve five it would be like fivvvvvvv vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv vvvvvvvvvvvv and then stop after the menu loads up. I have no programs running at all not anti spy or antivirus. I use fsautostart to close like 50 uneeded programs, this happend in default scenery with the cessna. Please helpsThanks Alexhttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng…

Forgive me if I overlooked obvious information while searching. I am choosing parts for a new system, and I need to decide bewteen a 17" wide screen monitor (just a monitor, not a TV combo) and a normal 19" flat screen. I have a rather basic question: How does FS9 look on a wide screen? Is it distorted, or is there just a wider view? Pros? Cons? Lotsa good stuff out there to choose from. Thanks - Steve

I love it and hate it. I have it working with the jets, but for the life of me I can't get it to work with the mixture on props. Not even for a single like the bonanza. I set up the levers in FS for mixture, but nothing moves in teh plane. It also doesn't seem to register in the FSUIP. Now, even if I select the mixture on the yoke it doesn't work. Also, I can't get the buttons to program. I guess I am an idiot. Never had problem with the other ch product I have. Yoke, pedals, fighter stick, and fighter throttle. Any suggestions? Thanks,Scott

As shipped from Dell my Radeon X850 Pro drivers do not have Catalyst Control Center that others are talking about in this forum. The interface looks much simplified and streamlined like before catalyst Control center was introduced. There is no way to control different types of AA folks are talking about, only on or off and 2 to 6. etc.Is there any advantage to installing CCC? Would ati tray tools work with my current setup to do some advanced tweaking?I understand that only CCC is available and supported now by ATI.So if I move up there would be no going back.Greg

Hi. I have a Dell XPSGEN5 with an Intel® Pentium® D CPU 3.20GHz Dual Core with 1024MB RAM Running WinXP professional, through an nVidia GeForce 6800, 256mb PCI Express card. For some unknown reason, my headset microphone is incompatible with the Creative SB Audigy 2ZS [D8CO] sound card. I've tried everthing. Contacting Dell, adjusting mic input settings...the bottom line is I am barely audible online in programs such as TeamSpeak, etc.Could this be a driver issue? Do I need to reinstall the audio drivers? How do I go about doing that? Any advice is appreciated, as I am very frustrated, and Dell is dragging their feet on this one.Thanks,http://www.graphics-free.com/animat…

I experience a strange problem right now with my CH Pro Pedals. Something has happened to the behavior of my right (differential) brake in FS9. It does not function anymore: When I press the right pedal down the red sign in the left down corner saying "DIFFERENTIAL BRAKE" is flickering a few miliseconds, and then dissapear and the right brake does not function. The left brake is steady and do function ok.I have assigned the controls within the FS9 and it worked ok yesterday!?!? What happened???Does anybody has an idea to a solution? I'm trying ti taxi the MAAM DC3 and the steering is done with the differential brakes, so I have problems as you see!! Hope somebody can help…
