Everytime I load a flight, my RAM drops significantly (I run a RAM monitor). It can go from 50% to 2%. After exiting FS9, the situation remains the same. Is this considered a memory leak? Can anyone provide suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys!I'm having an unexpected problem with FS: before formatting my HD, I would get about 15-17fps at the default Seattle airport runway with the Cessna 172SP Skyhawk. Now, I get 5-7Ffps with the same display settings I was using, the same video drivers, FS9 at the same conditions (patched)... the only things that changed is that, now my sound board doesn

I'm wondering if anyone can help me on this. I just reinstalled FS9 on another hard drive recently, due to a crash that completely ruined my old hard drive. I downloaded all the files I could remember and installed them into my new FS9 install and had everything the way I had it before...even the age old problem of serious stutters when turning at the airports came back. So I went to the tips section and got the info I was looking for and put the following in my FS9.cfg, under the video card heading.TextureAGP=0PanelAsTexture=0So probably everyone knows about this by now, as I do. I'm not a new user, but what I am experiencing now is new. I ran FS9 and couldn't believe th…

I am running a Gainward GeForce GS 7900GT together with a Pentium D 805 (2.6 Ghz) and all I get from a fresh installation of FS2004 is 13 FPS??? With reduced texture sizes it rises to 17 FPS. And I didn't even selecta any AA or AF...What the heck is going on? Any suggestions?P.S.: I also installed the latest ForceWare Drivers. No change. Even with traffic reduced to 0... Biggest impact comes from scenery density.I got more FPS with the same settings on my old setup (Athlon XP 2000+ with ATI 9600 XT). Strange...

I have an old P4 1.8ghz, 512 ram, 40 gig HD setup. It presently has no video card in it (I sold the card, a GeForce 3, some time ago). It was my FS rig from about 2002-2005.Anyway, I hear about people using a 2nd PC as a WideFS client, and running programs like moving maps or ActiveSky on the 2nd PC. Is this comp up to that task? But then again, the system is not worth much, is it? --it would need an AGP card in it for me to get it going again. I can either 1) buy some cheap (<$100) AGP card for it, and bring it back into operation as a WideFS computer, or2) junk it,3) buy a cheap AGP card and set it up as a web-surfing station, etc. in another part of the house. If…

Just got a new Gateway system (510XG). Its a core 2 - 6700, 2 Gb, etc, that came with an ATI 1900XT Crossfire graphics board. As I am still in the process of loading up FS9 and all my addons, I can say that this is a very fast system. Using Flight Enviroment's full impact clouds.....AI at 100%.....auto gen & scenery at max, with AS making overcast conditions @ KLGA; KEWR & KJFK both being add-ons....I have yet to see less than 29fps.What I am looking for though, is a good tutorial for the ATI cards. Up to now, everything I had was nVidia (last being a BFG 6600GToc), so I am very familiar with nVidia's menu and what wash item does. Am a little confused about some o…

Hey everyone, I have a CH Products usb yoke and Rudders and I let windows manage the drivers. I wanted to try and install the CH software and load a map, the launch FS9. The reason for this is, I have the Tupolev154 installed and have a performance issue with panning. The FPS is great, but the panning with the hat switch is slower than a snail with stutters. Being that that plane does not use the interface within FS9 and uses its own module, I was told that this may correct the problem. (At least those who use the software haven't any.) In the past, when I have used th CH software with a map loaded, I had some problems with all my other aircraft and my throttles when set …

Does anyone have this video card (ATI X1900 XTX 512 MB PCIe)? I'm thinking about upgrading mine from a X800 XT. I think the advantages of getting ATI's latest card would be great. Any comments or suggestions would be grateful!

HelloFound this at Guru of 3D site and it works on my 6800 video card.I don't know what it is but it gives me much better image quality with a low to moderate performance hit.Hope it works for others as well and that Nvidia includes this feature in future driver releases."So today came the ForceWare 91.45. Quad SLi targeted pack, nothing special. Except one thing... yes, you guessed it. It's Transparent AA!" "So bottom line, GeForce 6 series cards are indeed capable of anti-aliasing alpha textures using supersampling. Why is NVIDIA hidding this from us is beyond my understanding. Boosting GeForce 7 sales because of this? I'm sure a lot of people with GeForce 6 will feel l…

I'm aware there is a "wow" factor with TrackIR, but does anyone have anything bad to say about it? I just can't picture getting a convincing experience if I'm having to move my eyeballs in an unnatural direction in order to see the immobile screen.Surprisingly I thought TrackIR was a pair of goggles until I Googled some pictures of how it's installed. The other thing holding me back is that I only have a Celeron/3.2 Ghz/1 GB/AGP 6600GT 256K and my frame rates seem to dip to the 10-15 fps range when using the LD767 VC cockpit. So there's a tradeoff... then you factor in the price of the TrackIR and my decision goes from neutral to negative. Maybe if there was some way to…

Got an email yesterday offering me a opportunity to try the new UltimateDefrag program by Disk Trix Technologies. It is only a BETA - but it did not work for me. It was supposed to improve load times on the Mega Scenery files, etc. I tried to defrag the external drive my FS files are on. It was going slow, so I aborted the process & decided to try it again later and choose to exclude the defrag process on certain files I did not care about defragging (an option of yours in this program). Well, the program crahsed & my drive has completely failed. The folks at Dell said that I need to get a data recovery specialist (expensive, I am sure) as the files have to b…

I have an agp card, an ati radeon x800 xt pe, I want to upgrade the processor and motherboard, but most boards that support my new processor have only pci slots. It would be great if I could have my video card converted to pci, is this possible and how is it done? And could an agp card use a pci slot? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Folks; I have had the TripleHead2Go running for a few weeks now on a GeForce 7800 GS OC (AGP - dual out) card and am having excellent results - very impressed. One thing that bothers me is that the light "auras" (the glow around the lights) is way too large now. It has affected all lights ie: aircraft nav, strobes, taxiway and streetlights, etc. I have scaled down the runwaylights in the CFG file and fixed them, but haven't been able to resolve for any other lights. I thought it was a result of "stretching" the view but now I'm wondering if it might be in my settings. Has anyone else run across this ?
