I was getting ridiculously lousy framerates recently so I decided to experiment with some different video drivers. I'm using ATI drivers and have used Omega drivers as well. (Was flying Tongass Fjords before seeing the frame rate patch. should have waited)So I removed the ATI driver I had using "Remove Programs" and when I attemped to install another Omega driver, I had an error message: "Cannot copy atiicdxx.ini file". After some frustration, I restored my computer to an earlier date. Then I installed the latest driver from ATI without any error messages. Hi,I have an ati radeon sapphire x800gt agp, now I have installed the latest ati catalyst 6.7. I know that there are other different video drivers like "omega" and "dna". Anybody know which are the best?I have listen from a few people that the omega drv is better for reduce the problem with blurry texture..is true??

After the drop in prices, I succumbed to the temptation to upgrade my AMD 4000+ processor to a 4800+ Dual Core.I had one crash which looked like the hang I've always gotten when I try to go back to full screen from windowed mode (black screen with blinking wait cursor). Hopefully this was fixed by reinstalling the Omega Drivers. Whatever happened also reset my BIOS settings.....I have occasional annoying but not serious stutters and questions about what to try next:(1) The BIOS (which is not the latest for my MB by several versions) did recognize the new processor so I didn't update it. Guys,Dell are offering the 2407 widescreen monitor at a very attractive price (UKP610) until the end of August and I'm sorely tempted.The problem is one of resolution. I currently have a 9800Pro 128Mb card which runs okay at 1280*1024 but could probably not provide fast enough frame rates if it was pushed to 1920*1200 (the native res of the Dell). I'm not buying a faster card until I build a new PCI-Express system.However, there's every chance it could support a widescreen resolution of 1440*900 or similar 16:10 format resolution if it was available.Can those of you with this screen list which widescreen resolutions are available please? I've been wandering around lately thinking that it's approaching that time again where a solid overhaul of the PC might not be such a bad thing. Need help solving a mystery - Brand new Dell XPS 400 with Nvidia 7300 - but FS20004 aircraft and scenery display erroneous texture mapping intermittently, and on both aircraft and scenery, both default and addon. For Example, the wheel on MAAM C-47 displays wing texture, or default Ford Trimotor engine brace displays alternate texture. Any Nvidia 7300 peculiarities, or perhaps the Windows XP service pack 2 issue?Thanks!

I recently contacted NEC over the way they ship the LCD2170NX monitors with DVI-D leads (just bought a 2170NX), when the ATI and Nvidia cards I have all use DVI-I sockets. I thought I would take advantage of the 'special' price on the 24" Dell and buy one of those but the spec on the latest Dell 24" (2407WFP) shows they have started using DVI-D leads now. Hi AllI hope there is someone who can advise on this issue that I have.I have 2 Nvidia 7800GTX SLI graphic cards installed. When I go to my settings in the Nvidia control panel to up my settings, Antialiasing and anistropic filtering from application controlled to the cards control, load up FS9 and something like PMDG 747 or PSS 777. After a few moments I get split views in analogue and eventually VC panels and my sub panels are outside the main panels. When I take my settings off and re-load FS9 these are fine but Scenery airports like Gatwick pro or Heathrow pro and the likes my runway markings and distant buildings seem to have a flashing effect but not when change my …

I just got a new Cyborg Evo Force today. In the calibration settings if I turn the rudder to the left and it centers or I center it, the menu shows that the rudder input is a little to the left. The only way it centers itself perfectly is if I move the rudder all the way to the right and center. I dont have this problem if I turn it the other way.

Well I got my parts today, yay! I opened up my box and swapped the processor out. I wanted to do just the processor first to see if I could gauge the difference between having a new CPU vs. having a new CPU+GPU.Physical installation went fine... and in Windows the new CPU seems to recognize and operate okay. I had some fun junking around with the dual core (load up some program and have it calculate whilst the other core happily runs a GPU test, etc) and then proceeded onto the real meat...Load up FS, head on over to KEWR Newark to see what the damage is. Is there anyway I can use the mouse as yoke for FS2004? I downloaded the Mouse-As-Yoke program by Lovett Software but since I have no middle mouse button I can't use it at all.. Does anyone know of another program I can do this with? (At least it is in FSX)

G'Day!I have just installed a new m/b (MSI K8N Diamond) and a new GPU (Gigabyte 7600GT 256mb PCI-e), and for some reason I can't fly during the day!!I have been playing around with the display settings in FS9 and in the Display Settings panel for the video card, but no luck.What I have found is that by switching off AA, Render to Texture and transform and lighting in FS9, and leaving all my card settings to default, I can fly during the day (but as you can imagine it doesn't look all that good). I am in the process of putting together an order for a new system and have sorted more or less everything except the procesor. The reason being is because I just cannot make up my mind which is the better option.My initial feelings were to go for an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Skt939) as they represent such good value and I hear the Manchester core can easily be clocked up to 2.5GHz.
