Hello Gang!I noticed that the Nvidia 92.91 drivers are out and there seems to be a lot of rave about them. I have been running with the 42 series drivers for a long time and I'm wondering if I can use these with my video card which is an NVidia GeForce FX 5700, running on Windows XP Pro.Thanks for any help!Sincerely,Dennis D. I have two identical SATA 120gig Hard Drives. Currently FS9.1 sits on the primary drive (c:), along with four other games. Other than that, windows XP is the only other install on my c: drive. My programs are on the secondary drive (f). I keep the system drive defragged constantly. Do I need to swap this around and install the games on the secondary hard drive? Would I see benefit, or not? Keep in mind, my drive gets defragged with O&0 every other day. I installed games/sims on my primary with the understanding that most games tend to embedd files in the system drive, and I did not want 2 drives accessing files for one game at the same time. Let me hear some op…

First, thanks for all folks on this form for providing excellent info such as Manny & Chuck - great stuff.Just finished building a new FS computer last evening, haven't built one in three years - this high tech stuff worked my "Over the Hill" brain! I really wanted to wait until the new stuff next year but just couldn't hold back. Hopefully I can build on this computer as things change. New computer is as follows: Intel Core 2 X6800, P5W Deluxe, Coolmax 650W, Corsair DII800 4G, two SATA 74G/WD 10,000 drives, ASUS 1900XT/512 Card. Two questions:1. How much could one safly overclock CPU with standard cooling i.e. fan that comes with CPU? Four case fans, one on CPU, one o…

My LCD monitor is getting crudded up. I have little specs on it, not like fuzz, but hardened on things, like dirt globs and stuff lol...not sure what they are. Anyway, they are starting to get annoying. What can I do to clean it? Obviously I can't take a rag to it and push on it hard lol... what do i do?

Shortly, I plan to buy an nVidia 7900GTX card and swap out my ATI Radeon X850 XT PE so I can instal MATROX Triplehead2go with (probably) 3x19" LCDs. At present, my XPS Gen 4 runs FS9 extremely well and the ATI card drives a DELL 2405FP and another 1905FP flawlessly for a total of 3.6 million pixels.Should I add another GB of RAM to my system when I change the video card to the 7900?Appreciate advice, thanks!JS

While I own and enjoy the CH Yoke and pedals, I also own the Saitek X52 joystick and throttle set. Some of the newer large Airbus jets are implementing a lefthand joystick and right hand throttle for the left seat (the opposite, it seems, from the HOTAS arrangement that modern fighter pilots use). I have tried this with the Saitek and it feels unnatural. Have other FS9 users tried this lefthanded joystick arrangement?Brian

That default airport in FSX Beta, Friday harbour is amazing. I had texture at 60cm... Boy..It was spectaculor. This is default Fsim. I went and landed on one of the Golf courses there... WOW... I could see the fairway clearly mowed. I could see the tee off spot and the rough and sand traps.. and Lots and Lots trees around. it was truly amazing. I had almost everything to the right. I never could do that with the Dell XPS.Manny

I upgraded from a $70 Celeron 3.2 GHz to a $90 P4 2.8 GHz chip. My frame rates in FS2004 have dropped significantly -- from 18 fps to 6 fps sitting on the runway at DFW in LD767. FS2004 also takes much longer to load..... 2 minutes 31 seconds just to get to the main menu.Yes, I realize I went from 3.2 to 2.8, but I shouldn't be getting THAT much slower performance... besides I thought the P4 was supposed to be much better for gaming.Should I return the P4 and reinstall the Celeron? Or does Windows need a driver for the new CPU to run right?Specs are: PC Chips P21G, P4/511 775 socket 1MB L2 cache, Via bus, 1 GB RAM, PNY geForce 6600 256K, AMI Bios, Arctic Freeze fan/sin…

Hello, Forgive give me if this is in the wrong forum. I wasn't sure where to post it. I have an ATI X800XT video card which enables me to have two screens on the one PC (There are two slots avaiable at the back of my PC for the monitors)I would like to know is it possible for me to have say, an overhead panel of the PMDG or LevelD on one monitor, and the main panel of either of theses planes open on the other simultaneously? If the above is not possible can I stretch the cockpit of either of these planes across the two monitors so that I have one big cokpit? I have tried this and it worked to some extent but drained Frame rates and it was also only available in normal…

Its a nice case, well built an all..now my first problem. The Instructions for this case almist nil. A Pamphlet. That is all.1. How would I fix the HD or a floppy disk or a DVD drive to the slot in this case?In all the cases I have seen at Frys etc... there are some side clips/contraption where you would have to slide in the drives and it would hold the thing with those clips. Here I see no such clips and t…

Hi everyone.Simple question:Is there a laptop available that will run FSX acceptably?I was looking at the latest Dell XPS and Alienware laptop systems and I'm not convinced they are up to the job...Should I just soldier on with FS9 until there is a laptop available with Vista and a DX10 graphics card?Cheers.

I am thinking of buying either processor for fs9, and of course will be using it for fsx as well. "AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+", or " AMD Athlon 64 FX-55" To me they look good and are very affordable. Will this improve fs performance, mainly when in the vc is when I have frame hits, they seem to be processor related.

I see the latest nVidia graphics driver is the 91.47. I'm not sure how the backwards compatibility goes, but is there a "best" driver for the 7600GT/256MB? I'm running a dual-core AMD 64 4500+, with 2BG RAM on an ASUS32-SLI board (not running SLI), and the over-riding application is FS9 (soon to be FSX, I guess).Thanks- Bruce.

I am interested in buying a new processor for a computer build. I'm not a gamer and use FS2004 on occasion. The two processors I am considering are both socket 939:3800 Venice w/512 cache.3700 San Diego w/1 meg cache.I have not been able to find much info as to how much L2 cache figures in to the playability of ms flight sims.Would 200 mhz on the 3800 be preferable to the additional 512 cache? I also want to "recycle" 4 sticks of Kingston 3200 ram and I understand there are some issues on the memory controllers of some AMD processors which don't allow the use of 4 sticks of memory at…
